Lovely clean room. We stayed in the stable block and the floor was a bit creaky but the room was fresh and clean and the bed was comfortable. We didn't have food as were visiting family close by but thought that the room was good value for money.

It's a lovely pub in an old Georgian Building. Lovely grounds and frontage. Would be epic to have a pint in the Gardens in the summer. However, visited in October, just an overnight stay with dinner as was in the area briefly. Signage was a bit of a challenge, however, had looked it up online previously so found it with... More

This is very poor. It is, or was, a fine middle 18th century rather grand house, but now it's part of the Spirit Pub Company, part of the Greene King Pub and Associated with Good Night Inns. It's difficult to pin down who exactly owns it, but it is NOT a hotel, it's a pub with rooms. The room we... More

I lived in the Retford area for many years, and on this occasion I travelled 240mls for a family reunion. What once was a fine Georgian property, that no doubt hosted many a fine dinner party is now unbelievably poor, and so,so disappointing ! We were greeted with the surliest of bar staff, and we all realised that humour was not part of their... More

A big, homely, welcoming hotel with great staff and homely rooms. Graeme and his staff were very efficient and generous with the whole service. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would hopefully stay again if the opportunity comes. The food was really good with a great breakie to start the next day. Good luck all

Got the last room available, a family room which was big but dated. Skirting boards full of dust, bathroom window that would not stay closed & the shower over the bath only gave out scalding hot water. My evening meal was terrible, gammon had more fat than meat & the onion rings were hard on the outside with a soft... More

I've given this one star because the app won't let me select none as an option! We were allocated a room in the main building (room 2), up the grand staircase shown so proudly on the hotels promo photos. They couldn't have been that proud of it since it didn't appear to have been dusted for some time. Generally from... More
