I looked on line for a hotel in the middle of the champagne region. What I found was a great local hotel. Dizy is a very old town and there isn’t much there. Well except for 25 champagne salons and being between two larger regions. I called ahead to let them know we were going to be a late arrival. They didn’t have my booking through Hotels.com but said it wasn’t a problem. If we got there late they would leave the key out. We arrived around 8:30 PM and check in went fine and they told us we could still get dinner. The owner spoke some English which made it much easier. We had two rooms as expected. Simple with everything you need. There was no elevator that we saw so be prepared to carry your luggage up a flight, but I’m sure there would have been assistance if we needed it. As I have mentioned previously in other reviews I’m not exactly sure why but with many hotels we had been staying in it doesn’t seem like the concept of air conditioning is understood almost anywhere in Europe, from the airports, to museums to hotels and apartments, so be prepared. The room did have fans. We went to have dinner which was great and the local champagne reminded us of why we were there. They have a great patio and the locals told us the mosquitoes hadn’t come out yet but they will soon. They also explained the menu to us. Perfect introduction to the local citizens. Breakfast was different than other European breakfast, with some unusually offerings but we did not leave hungry. The restaurant filled at dinner as this seemed to be the spot in town that the locals eat at. Food was wonderful and the staff great. The owner showed us some salons to visit on a great map of the region. Épernay was the larger of the towns and had all the classic shops and tasting rooms. One thing that was different was the local tasting rooms, they don’t really say if they are open or not. It is a great town to walk around and there is a discount store and a full on grocery store both within walking distances. I think I saw one other hotel that maybe had a swimming pool which the 13 year old would have loved as champagne tasting got a bit boring for him as to be expected. I would gladly return, maybe not in July but it was a wonderful place to stay and if you want to immerse yourself in a local place this is not to be passed up.

Used as a stop off on the way to UK from Switzerland. Wanted to do a short Champagne tour so stayed 2 nights. Ideal!! Yes the decor is a bit tired. The room was ok, bed very comfortable, very clean bedding. Bathroom a bit small but plenty of clean towels a d good plentiful hot water to the shower. Hair dryer too. What did stand out was the friendly welcome from patron and staff. We don't have much french but they tried so much to help. In addition, the food was fabulous! Tried the full buffet one night, and chose individual plated from the board, the next. Outstanding food cooked to perfection. Good wine too. Fantastic value all round.

It is a little far from the town center (30 min walk or 7 min with car) however they have a restaurant on site that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and also a bar with a decent Champagne selection. The rooms are large and comfortable. Al in all a good value but nothing special.

The Prim’Bagatelle is a pleasant hotel that, apparently, is the only remaining building in the immediate area from past years. It is surrounded by commercial establishments. The hotel itself is basic but comfortable and we found it quiet enough. Finding the hotel presented a challenge: the address was given as “214 Zone Commerciale "Les Bas Jardins" but our GPS could not locate it so we had to drive to the adjacent village, Magenta, for directions. The staff was friendly and what we appreciated was that, because our arrival was delayed by one day because of an airline-caused missed flight connection, we were not charged for a change in our arrival date. Parking is plentiful and the wifi signal was strong.

What a gem this hotel is. Great central position for visiting Epernay and Reims. Yes it is on a business estate but it was very quiet at night on the side we stayed. Our room was a good size, for us and our dogs. Huge bed. All was clean and well presented. The breakfast choice was excellent and copious. Evening menu very good with buffets available for starters, cheese and wonderful desserts. We will be returning.
