The site itself is in a beautiful spot next to a river which we overlooked from a grass pitch. The owners were friendly and welcoming. I particularly liked the welcome from a lovely friendly dog and some ducks who were were adorable. The shower and toilet blocks were nearby and showers at 50p lasted a while so you only really...

Highly recommended and will be going back in the summer. What a beautiful area and only 5 minute car journey away is a huge lake in stunning surroundings. If I could offer any advice to anyone it would be to be prepared for mud which thankfully we were. Thank you.

Camp site is in a beautiful location and very well placed for visiting the western lakes and Scafell Pike. A visit to nearby Wastwater is a must. Adjacent pub for real ale didn't disappoint but food was average. Owner of the camp site was friendly but his dog was allowed to roam free and didn't care for us coming back...

Lovely quaint little Lake District campsite, a stones throw from England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike. Very good rates for tents with electric hook ups. Not an overly large and crowded site. Friendly, informative, helpful site owner. Great facilities; shower blocks, laundry facilities, freezer facilities, free camp wifi and parking. Adored the black Labrador, George, who serves as the campsite dog...

We booked this campsite online without any problems. I did contact the owners before hand to check our tent size would be OK as it didn't conform to their specific size brackets. The owners replied quickly confirming our booking was ok. On arrival at the site, we saw the campsite office on the right and rang the bell. We had...

Arrived on the Saturday to torrential rain and high winds. A lot of the pitches were flooded but a couple were ok, owner did offer us a refund if we wanted to leave and had tried to call to postpone our arrival until the Sunday but didn't pick this up until about half hour before we arrived and we had...

Arrived and pitched up. Went to the Woodlands tearoom for a toasted teacake and cold drink. Visited Bower House Inn pub for wonderful homemade chips and burger. This family run campsite located in the pretty western lakes caters for family groups and larger social groups. The facilities are good and very clean. I adore the campsite dog George who welcomes...
