My wife and I selected Betty's cottage for our three day stay for a base for some walks we had selected previously. Information was text to us with instructions of entry to the cottage. Arriving there, we where treated to freshly made loaf of bread (lovely) also a welcoming piece of cake and a shot schnapps ( even better )...

My wife and I stayed here on Saturday evening. The Old School B&B is very comfortable and homely. Lesley our host was very helpful and nothing was too much for her. On her recommendation she booked a local pub in advance for our Saturday evening meal. Had she not booked it we wouldn’t have had a table as it was...

Everything about the stay was brilliant... and there's not many places you can say that about! The rooms were nicely decorated and completely spotless. The food was all home made and delicious. I don't normally like staying in someone's house as I tend to feel like I'm imposing but we were made to feel very welcome and I wouldn't hesitate...

An awesome Bed and Breakfast, just like home from home. Perfect for our second honeymoon, which was also in the Lake District, 40 years ago, Little extras every day, which made the stay even more perfect. Ideal for walkers exploring the coast and south west Lake District. Lots of venues for evening meals. The host was outstandingly helpful, booking the...

We dont always write reviews but this place definitely deserves one. From arriving to leaving we were made to feel really welcome by the owner Lesley. Even the lovely labrador Bruce greeted us with a smile, seriously he did! The finishing touches in the room just gave this little B&B the edge to the many others we have stayed at...

Very friendly hosts. Lots of little extras, we loved the fresh eggs and homemade bread on arrival. Close Wastwater for a dip in the Lake! Clean and tidy, and lovely fresh daffodils in the room. Nothing was too much trouble.

We stayed overnight on Saturday 18th February 2017. Marvellous accommodation. Old building but fabulous modern renovation. Easy to reach by road. Made so welcome by Lesley and Bruce (beautiful Labrador) as soon as we arrived. Sloe gin on arrival was to die for as were home-made flapjacks and chocolate-dipped marshmallows. So many little extras that it is not possible to...

Great place to stay. You are made to feel genuinely welcome and there are numerous extra small touches that really make a difference. We have stayed in a number of B&B's over the last few years and have quite high standards, but Lesley went above and beyond any of our expectations. When we are next in the area that is...
