The Atlantis is a special place created from a beautifully wooded, oceanfront site, unlike any other on the coast. Most of our units are suites with efficiency kitchens, dining, living and sleeping areas. All have patios or decks facing the surf, cable TV and all expected amenities including high-speed internet access. And yes, we do accept your pets in most units at a minimal fee. We are a very special place on the "Crystal Coast."

This place was recommend from several folks at our dog park in frederick Maryland. I never dreamed that the beach in NC was still warm. We left our home in 40 degrees, arrived and it was 70. This place is awesome if you want to bring your dog. The rooms are bright, with great views of the beach. So many things are included, like the beach chairs and umbrellas. Less stuff we needed to bring. So many of the people staying here are so friendly. Many have been coming here for years. We are definitely coming here again with our dog.

We recently enjoyed 2 nights at the Atlantis and enjoyed our stay very much. We were especially fortunate to stay in one of the large suites and it was great to have the space to spread out and enjoy the beautiful ocean view. It’s always such a treat to stay at such a dog=friendly location, and we were glad for the dog-washing station and the shovels provided to easily deal with waste. Also, we’d like to thank the Atlantis for adding electric vehicle charging stations. It’s is a big plus for us to have that available and we will be visiting more often!

We called same day to get a room and landed a standard suite. I was a bit hesitant to stay as I am allergic to dogs and this property is a dog-friendly hotel. The suite was great - third floor so the view of the beach and water was terrific. Sliding glass doors across the room so lots of light. Décor is 60ish with lots of white and turquoise. We had a small kitchen, a table with 4 chairs, a sleeper sofa and queen bed. The bathroom was plenty big. I was super happy as the room was so clean I had no issues with allergies. We sat on our balcony and viewed the beach and the lawn below. It's an older building but reminded me of my grandmother's efficient apartment from 50 years ago on Daytona Beach. Really fun place to stay and the front office was terrific. I would highly recommend staying here. The only downside is you do have to drive a bit to get to any decent restaurants, but the area is quiet and great if you want a great beach location.

We stayed at the hotel Labor Day weekend. Very pretty yard and hotel itself clean and well maintained. The room we stayed in does not have any kitchen items. It’s very small for a couple with one kid. I think the other large rooms probably more comfortable to stay. The hotel staff are pretty good about following COVID 19 rules so I do feel safe. It’s a little inconvenient for us since we have to drive out to search for food. Nothing really close by. One thing I did not like about the place is that there is one family who set up 9 chairs and umbrella at the best place on the beach but do not show up. That beach section is for everybody in the hotel not reserved for one group. But the hotel does not want to do anything about it.

The Atlantis Lodge has been around for years. It has a great reputation. Many guests come the same week, year after year, and it's easy to see why. The hotel is darling-- very old-school, with a retro feel. The furnishings are up-to-date-- bright, white Ikea furniture with orange accent pieces-- but the small white kitchens and mid-century modern-style couches call to mind that great 1960s surf culture. The hotel is right on the beach, and the property provides chairs and umbrellas, with an attendant setting them up for you. (You may wish to rise early to get the best spot.) There is also a small swimming pool off of the parking area/ front drive. This can be a nice option for families who have kids that like to hop back and forth between ocean and pool. There is no restaurant, but there is a grill area with tables and chairs as well as a game room; however, the latter is closed during the pandemic. Perhaps the Atlantis's most unique quality is that it really caters to pets. For a small, extra fee, you can bring Fido on vacation. There are dog snacks as a welcome treat. To call for housekeeping, just make prior arrangements with the front desk so that your pet is not upset or disturbed. There is a cute, outdoor pet bathtub and shower (with pet shampoo products!) in the main commons area. Moreover, dogs are allowed on the beach if they are on leash. Given the hotel's convenient location, you can bring your dog to the beach and then easily take him back to the room when he's hot or tired. If you are looking for a posh, luxurious escape, Atlantis Lodge is probably not the place for you. But if you are seeking a laid-back beach vacation with some really cute touches for pets or kids, this is your new happy place.
