We enjoyed every moment during our 3 night stay at the Cape Kudu Resort. When arriving felt very welcomed by the reception. Got the cold towels an refreshing welcome drink. Had to wait for our room a while since we came early. Had a nice lunch at the superb Hornbill restaurant. Ate there a couple of times, lunch and dinner. Everytime very enjoyable.

The room was excellent on the third floor. View was beutiful and we really liked the separate beds! Big room, so beatifully furnished. Lots of waterbottles so there was no need to go and shop for them. Balcony was nice. Since it was mostly rainy the rain didn’t bother.

The breakfast - well it was just perfect. One of the best I’ve had on the islands.

The swimming pool areas were nice and especially the areas towards the sea. The beach was so nice. For swimming of course high tide is the time to swim. The same fact applies to all these islands with shallow waters.

There was somekind of open gala one evening, which were not aware of. The friendly staff - again - asked us to join to have some coctail snacks and drinks.

Going to the village or where ever was uncomplicated. Mostly got the taxi from the reception. Taxi is always the same 100 bath per person on the island.

Hotel’s cafeteria by the beach had great coffee and delicious cakes and pastry!

Nearby was a great massage place. We had our massage on the balconny by the beach. And lunch was great at the restaurant at the beach with tennisballs to keep the chairs in place. The best dinner we had was Rice Paddy - also walking distance. Be sure to have a reservation.

We absolutely loved our stay at Cape Kudu, so much so that we returned a week later to finish our holiday, we literally could not stay away.

The location of the hotel is stunning, looking out over the water and islands and set on Koh Yao Noi, a quiet, tropical island, not over run with tourists. The design of the hotel and rooms is modern and fresh, striking just the right balance between luxury and laid back island aesthetics. The food is great, breakfast is a wonderful spread and we enjoyed dining in the restaurant every evening...the papaya salad and banana fritter were particular favourites. Cafe Kantary is a lovely addition to the hotel, a more relaxed affair than the restaurant, we often enjoyed lunch there with good coffee and smoothies.

What really made this hotel for us though was the wonderful staff! We travelled with our baby daughter Norah, and while it is probably a hotel better suited to couples, we could not have been made to feel more welcome. From arrival to departure, Norah was treated like a queen, all the staff were so so kind towards her and thoughtful. A special thanks to Ronny for treating her with bananas by the pool everyday.....he even brought her a whole bunch from home one day! and to all the restaurant staff Maemay, Ten, Noon, Priew, Thanya....I wish I could name them all! They really made our stay so enjoyable.

We really are looking forward to return again and enjoy this wonderful place.

This hotel is a find. So lovely, with helpful friendly staff. We stayed in a pool villa which was delightful, plenty of space, clean modern and with – as you would expect – a pool (well a large jacuzzi) might be a better description.

The location is beautiful, set on the quiet island of Koh Yai Noi, which is about 30 mins by speedboat from the port at Phuket or 25 mins from Krabi. Island life is vastly different from city life.

The hotel offers superior quality free cycles and most days I would cycle around the island, seeing and interacting with local residents, all of whom were unfailingly interesting and kind.

The food is good, breakfasts are a real treat. Dinner has a wide range of options – but the wine is super pricey at £50 for a pretty ordinary bottle!

We loved our stay – lovely and relaxing.

Positives: I would echo what some of the other recent reviews have said - the location of the hotel is lovely and the accommodation is to a high standard with some spectacular views. We had a sea view room and the sunrise was breathtaking. Food and drinks were of mostly a high quality and we were able to make use of nearby restaurants too given the proximity to village & six senses resort.

Negatives: The low score is purely because the enjoyment of our stay was thoroughly compromised by younger children dominating the pool area. It's a boutique hotel with a smallish main pool area which just isn't suitable for children running about etc. as it quite quickly impacts all other guests who can no longer relax or get away from the chaos.

The adults only pool is smaller and has no view so wasn't appealing or where we wanted to base ourselves.

I would only consider coming back to this hotel if they changed their policy on younger children in the main pool. Appreciate it's not marketed as adults only but it's more tailored to adults and we were under the impression we'd have a calm romantic stay...

Dear Charlottebz5169qk, Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about your recent stay at our hotel. It is wonderful to read that you enjoyed the beautiful location, and the high quality of our dining options. I appreciate your candid feedback regarding the atmosphere around the pool area. We strive to cater to all our guests' needs, which includes offering a designated adults-only pool area designed for relaxation and tranquillity. However, I understand that during your stay, the presence of a larger number of children, due in part to the Songkran festival in Thailand and various international holidays, may have impacted the serenity typically found at our main pool. Please rest assured, while we aim to be family-friendly, maintaining a balanced environment where all guests can enjoy their experience is of utmost importance to us. Your comments are invaluable and we are actively discussing further enhancements to ensure that our adult guests can find peace and quiet even during our busier periods. We truly hope this experience will not deter you from returning. We would be delighted to welcome you back, perhaps during a quieter time, so that we can provide you with the calm and romantic stay you were looking forward to. Cape and Kantary Hotels supports SOS Children’s Villages and the TSPCA. We do not serve foie gras, birds’ nest or shark’s fin and we stand firmly against the exploitation of Thai elephants for commerce or entertainment. I'll start with the good things:
We stayed at the very pricy pool villa-really big and spacious, with lots of storage options.
Hotel breakfast is one of the most generous and diverse we've had worldwide!
Coffee-high quality.
But relying on a really good breakfast wont make it a 5 star experience, for example:
Bathroom: permanent stains on the floor+cracking tiles.
Shower - not enough water pressure (and thats an understatement), showerhead aims at the walls instead of you because of being partially clogged up.
Jacuzzi in our private pool-cant control all the pumps so very noisy until late- husband had to use his noise cancelling headphones to read at evening+night
Room-So many ants-all over the bed-had trouble sleeping, our phones and books beside the bed covered with them (from the beginning, and we didn't eat at the room). So afraid we will transfer ants to Bangkok or worse -back home.
Toilet-constant leak at its back, you would expect cleaning staff would report but im not even sure they cleaned over there.
Staff -very kind but hardly speaks/understands English, one would expect at least reception staff would, we just gave up on that and did everything outside of the hotel due to mutual misunderstanding.
Surprisingly one of the activities for guests was cleaning the beach-but this hotel is the only one without a beach on its front in this strip of the island. (We ended up cleaning caves and sea waters during a tour in the bay, but that was our choice after seeing so much trash left by other tourists and has nothing to do with the review).
All that (and more)- a 5 star resort would not give you this experience, 5 star resorts oay a lot of attention also to small details. we took photos but will not publish because we're not into shaming anyone, just be ware that good reviews you get on YouTube are probably from people who get free vacations so not reporting all the truth.
We love Thailand and have travelled here several times for years, seeing the country developing, staying in 3/4/4.5/5 star hotels. This one cannot afford to call itself a 5 star one.

Dear Ravit and Uri, Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback about your recent stay with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the spacious pool villa, generous breakfast, and high-quality coffee. Your compliments mean a lot to us. Regarding the challenges you faced, I would like to explain that Koh Yao Noi is a small tropical island, and even with rigorous pest control measures, ants can become a problem if food is brought into the room. We advise guests to call us after finishing room service to prevent ants from being attracted, as without food, ants typically do not enter the rooms. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused during your stay. We are deeply sorry for the problems you experienced in Villa 1105, and we have conducted a thorough investigation and are addressing the issues you mentioned. Our goal is to ensure that such issues do not recur. We take pride in hiring local staff as part of our sustainability efforts, and while some may have challenges with English, we do have team members who speak excellent English, and we are continuously working on improving our staff's language skills to enhance guest communication and experience. We regret that you did not feel comfortable sharing your concerns with us during your stay. We encourage all our guests to inform the staff or management immediately if they encounter any issues so we can address them promptly, as we did not receive any feedback from you while you were here, which limits our ability to rectify the situation in real-time. Lastly, our beach cleaning activity is a voluntary initiative aimed at helping the local community and raising environmental awareness, especially among children, conducted once a week, and participants are rewarded with ice cream and coffee at Cafe Kantary. We believe in preserving our small island and fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment. We understand that everyone has different perspectives on environmental activities, and while some may not appreciate them, we remain committed to these initiatives as part of our responsibility towards our beautiful island. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with a truly 5-star experience. Best regards, Cape Kudu Hotel, Koh Yao Noi Management

The photos on the website looked very promising and we were looking forward to our 5 night stay at Cape Kudu. The contact during the reservation went very smoothly and friendly as well as the organization of the transfer with the speedboat. Also during our stay, the General Manager and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was very extensive but you should not come at rush hour, better a little later to enjoy your breakfast in peace. In the evening it was nice to have a quiet dinner and the different dishes were delicious. Several times we enjoyed dining at the hotel.
Our room on the third floor had a beautiful view of the sea, a large balcony, very comfortable bed and everything you needed was there.

What we personally thought was a pity that the domain was built too full. The private villas in the garden take up a lot of space and therefore the space for the swimming pool, the restaurant, the bar is rather limited and gives it a cramped feeling. In addition, all this is on the road, although it is lower, you can hear the traffic.

But what disappointed us the most was the general condition of the hotel. The whole world has suffered from two years of Covid-19 and tourism has had a rough time, but a hotel of this standard should make sure everything is well painted and everything works.
Hopefully now that tourists are coming to Thailand again and money is coming in the management will provide a thorough makeover and then it will be worth 5/5 again.
Thanks to the whole team for a pleasant stay !

Stayed three nights in the sea-view room at Cape Kudu Hotel. The rooms are large, modern and quiet. The sea-view rooms offer a breathtaking view which is definitely worth the extra cost. The hotel staff is one of the friendliest I have ever seen and helps you with all your requests. They also offer free activities such as an island tour or drinks/snacks with the manager. The location offers the perfect views of the limestones in the sea and is ideal for a 4-island tour. As you are close to Hong island you can go by private boat at around 8am and be the first person on the beautiful island. The location of the hotel on the island is perfect but the island does not offer to many activities during the low season. However it is the perfect place for relaxing away from the masses of tourists in Phuket.

Superb in every way! From the moment you arrive at the air conditioned welcome lounge at the pier to the moment your leave your feel cosseted and spoilt . We loved this hotel and stayed for 4 nights but could have spent another week there as so relaxing and wonderful hospitality. Ben and Antoine in particular are super friendly and helpful and a lovely ambience. The rooms are beautifully appointed (only minor criticism would be better coffee both in room and at breakfast). Rooms at this level of hotel should have a Nespresso and at breakfast I needed to order an Americano with a double espresso to even taste like coffee! A bean to cup machine like our previous hotel would have been ideal. This was however the only thing I can comment on and would have given up coffee entirely as so fab! Our first evening we were also given a turndown sweet treat and fresh water was delivered in the evening too. Housekeeping staff extremely pleasant and everyone courteous and smiling.

The food at breakfast was varied enough with good local dishes, salad, fresh juices/fruit and delicious pastries. Also an egg station to order omelettes and a roti station. We were lucky enough to be staying over a weekend so also had manager’s Thursday evening cocktails and sparkling wine for breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday. Ice cream from cafe Kantaray also superb and the macarons we got as a leaving gift show Antoine has extended his French influence well!

Happy hour every evening was perfect to watch the sun go down (you get sunrise from hotel not sunset but light changing was pretty). The view is just stunning and I could have watched it and the swooping hornbills for hours.

We rented a Scooter from the hut outside and was brilliant fun and highly recommended. The roads are super safe. We didn’t have time to eat on the hotel for dinner but it looked delicious and keenly priced.

Would go back in a heartbeat!

Incredible little hotel located on an island a little away from the world.
Reservation made via private travel, in the end three great days on a circuit going from Phuket to Kaolak.
Lots of gifts on our arrival, free cocktail, massages offered and magnificent view in a superb room in perfect condition which is rare for Thailand.
The cuisine is fine and perfectly seasoned. The director is French and very friendly, as is the rest of the team.
The value for money is unbeatable. In short, I warmly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 1 week of our Thailand adventure, and were sad to leave. We had a lovely sea view room, set in tropical gardens on a very traditional Thai island. A cosmopolitan mix of guests of many nationalities which added to our experience.

The hotel staff are wonderful, the manager Antoine is totally hands on which I liked, and his staff seem to respond to his leadership by providing a first rate and friendly service. Water is available daily by the pool, and bottled is provided in the room. Fresh pool towels are supplied daily too and the sunbeds are very comfortable.

It's not the cheapest place to stay in Thailand, but you get what you pay for and we believe we had excellent value for money at Cape Kudu. I can't think of anything that disappointed me, the breakfasts were plentiful and delicious, if you fancy a bit of nature spotting the Hornbills are plentiful in these parts, spectacular creatures in their natural habitat, wonderful seeing approximately 50 one very early morning!

Plenty of good eating places nearby, all within 10 minutes walk, also massages are close to the hotel.

Would definitely return to Koh Yao Noi, and wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again, I thought it was fantastic.
