Mawe is a lovely little hidden place. It is very picturesque with gorgeous decor. The lovely wooden carved doors and the canvas furniture coverings are just some of the little things that add to the ambiance. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxed. The cliff top location makes for excellent sunbathing views. The owner organised a dhow trip with snorkelling... More

Mawe Resort is a unique place to be. The African theme portrayed in the premises is one of its kind. The place is excellent for those who want privacy. The staff are very friendly and always ready to help where need be..

Mawe is my sort of resort: small, personal, quiet and charming. Everything was good: location, food, service, the spa. Staff is friendly and efficient. Is so good you don't want to get out! I plan to go back and have been recommending ever since.

From arrival to departure the experience was so relaxing. Sergio, Constance, Shaban and Emmannual were extremely welcoming and helpful. The restaurant provided good quality meals. We really liked the stairs to the beach through a cave cut into the cliff. The views are stunning. We will definitely be repeat visitors.

Very peaceful and quaint little getaway with breathtaking views. Food is great and reasonably priced. Very nice and attentive staff. Lovely pool area, but you can also walk to the beach. Would definitely go again.

My sister and I stopped by for an afternoon during the Christmas holidays. Stefan was so friendly and warm; I don't know if it's possible to have a nicer host. The grounds and pool are beautiful; the location serene and quiet. I look forward to having a formal overnight stay.

We are just back from a 6 night stay. The rooms are quite basic and there is no direct beach access, however the overall atmosphere is so relaxing, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and we felt 'at home' at the place. We had most meals in the resort, the food was very good, especially the selection of salad,... More

1. In General. The place plays chilled music, has clean, secure, comfortable rooms with air con and hot water and the restaurant produces outstanding seafood. There is only one negative that is difficult to remedy, but wait for it. The boutique resort (12 beds) is also private and safe which was important to us as we were robbed by a... More

We spent five nights at this perfect resort in Watamu, and we highly recommend it to everyone. Prior reviews do an excellent job highlighting many of Mawe Resort's strengths, so I will focus on three secondary aspects that make it a unique vacation spot. First, do not worry that the resort is on a cliff rather than a sand beach!... More
