Bonvino Wine and Spa Badacsony is a new hotel with a unique design concept. It offers luxurious relaxation facilities,a wide range of high quality local wines and Hungarian cuisine in the centre of Badacsonytomaj only 300 metres from the shores of Lake Balaton. Each of the stylish rooms is air-conditioned and features a balcony, a flat-screen TV, a minibar and an elegant bathroom with bathrobes. Hotel Bonvino Badacsony has an indoor pool with a jacuzzi, Finnish and infra saunas, steam cabin, child pool section and specially developed Spa treatments. Children and parents enjoy our indoor playroom and outdoor playground. Countless wine-related activities as well as beautiful natural trails await!
My wife & I recently spent 6 nights at the Bonvino in the small resort of Badacsony, on the northern shore of Lake Balaton .
We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay due to its superb location and having a private car park (small charge).
We were unsure at first because we had to book half board as only b & b was not an option.
Our fears were unfounded as the evening meals were very good and in fact offered healthy options than the majority of the other places to eat in the resort.
I cannot recommend the staff too highly, from those on reception to all those working in the restaurant. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I would particularly like to mention Szabolcs (Szabi), one of the waiters whose English was very useful when ordering drinks etc, and the lady & gentleman we saw on reception.
A great place to stay!
We have returned here after a 4 year break, and we are a bit disappointed. We understand that Covid and after that the war has torn hosptiality services apart quite a bit, but this hotel deserves better. Four years ago this was an oasis in the middle of an albeit developing, but still not very attractive little lakeside wine-themed resort. This place used to be a shining beacon of affordable but outstanding hospitality. The surroundings have still had the aura of the past about them, but this hotel stood out as a great example. Now it is a mere shadow of its past self. Time has passed, the surroundings have developed with a rocketlike speed, but this hotel has not seen even a paintbrush to preserve its quality. In our previous visit in 2018 the service and the kitchen were extraordinary, now they were only mediocre at best. The room was the same, but the beds have become worn, the tapestry ragged, the spacing among the tiles in the flooring of the bathroom were dirty, even moldy at some places. The paint on the wall has seen better days. The aircon works either too loud and warm, or silent and cold. The windows let in a lot of cold air. The sound of the garage door, two floors below our room was very loud, and every morning some other aircon or whatever HVAC unit started working with a gentle, waking hum around 6:30. Probably the fact, that after today, the hotel closes for about two months, didn't help the mood of the staff, but this morning at breakfast they were already halfway out of the place. with the kitchen door ajar, you could hear every word, and it was not very pleasant. So yeah, there are already much-much better places around than this little hotel. It is a pity, seeing such a great value gone to ruin. We will not be returning, spending just a bit more will give you a far better value in the vicinity.
The hotel has a perfect location. The wellness was very good, not too corwded. The wine bar was excellent within the hotel with more than 100 extraordinary local wines. The hotel room was quite large but average quality, but the terrace was huge and very good. The catering was also average. Hableány restaurant is situated oppisite to the hotel, operated by Laposa winery, if you go here you must try it!

Good price/quality ratio. Perfect breakfast, Visit the museum named Róza Szegedi, combined with a wine cellar. Then take a dinner in restaurant Kisfaludy Ház. Take a walk on the hill Badacsony and enjoy the picturesque view.

This quite new hotel offers a unique atmosphere with its furniture, and hearty management and staff. Both breakfast and dinner selection is really wide and especially dinner not the usual 4* menu, but something more delicious. Vine selection also outstanding, also the vine tasting program included in the the package, lead by the owner. Suitable for those travelling with small children, we stayed in the "family apartment with 2 rooms", which provided good space for all, and the very big terrace should be very nice during spring, summer and autumn as well.

We originally wanted to have a romantic long-weekend with my husband, so he booked the honeymoon suite. But it had happened that Grandma had became ill and we had to take our little boy with us. It was quite funny, when my husband modified the booking and asked an extra child bed into the honeymoon suite :) We liked the hotel very much. The hotel itself is really new, has a very good location, close to everything. The honeymoon suite is lovely, spacious and nicely furnished, however the open bathroom with huge windows was a bit strange for us but unique as well. Has a very big shared balcony with the neighbours. Only downside was that the sofa at the living room area was broken and was a bit uncomfortable to sleep even for the 4 years old kid. We were satisfied with the…

Despite the fact that the hotel claims on several websites to be catering for vegetarians, there was no vegetarian option served at any of the dinners during the time we were here. We ended up eating only side dishes and some salad. Each evening there was a buffet with a limited number of choices: 2 soups, 3 or 4 types of main courses, side dishes, salad and dessert. I cannot say how dissappointed I was when I saw on the second evening as well, that both soups and all 3 main meal options contained meet. I asked for vegetarian food in the end from the waiter, and ended up eating breaded cheese, which is OK once, but not exactly what you'd prefer to eat more often. This hotel needs to change the way they cater for vegetarians, they should include at least 1 vegetarian meal option…

We stayed in this lovely hotel for 3 nights and everything was all PERFECT! The staff is friendly, helpful, and solves all of your problems in some minutes. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is really delicious. Minimum 4 types of cold cuts, 2 types of raw ham, 4 types of cheese, various types of omlett every day, sausage, 4 types of marmelade, and 5 types of pastry (breads, whole bread, roll, sweets) are waiting for you mornings. The dinner is deliciuos too, you can choose from 2 types of soup, and 4 types of second dish. All of them are tasty, fresh and made - if it's possible - from local row materials. The SPA is not so big but you find there infra sauna, finn sauna, hammamm, jacuzzi and a swimming pool. Recommended!

We've been in Bonvino two times and we really enjoyed. It is closed to the beach and there are some nice vineyard in the neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, the quality of the food is OK. I only have problem with the shower, because there is no door on it and the whole bathroom are wet when you have a shower. The prices are a little bit high.

We stayed 3 nights in the hotel, an this long weekend was a real pleasure. Advantages: location, style, new facility Positive things to mention: Friendly and helpful reception Quality of the food Minor things to improve: Water and ice machine is missing from the spa/sauna Shower head holder is missing from the room Overally we've been fully satisfied and it's recommended to anyone. Ps: reading previous comments complaining about noise: please take into consideration that the hotel is at a central location, where everything is happening. If noise bothers you, don't go to central location, it's that easy.
