Bonvino Wine and Spa Badacsony is a new hotel with a unique design concept. It offers luxurious relaxation facilities,a wide range of high quality local wines and Hungarian cuisine in the centre of Badacsonytomaj only 300 metres from the shores of Lake Balaton. Each of the stylish rooms is air-conditioned and features a balcony, a flat-screen TV, a minibar and an elegant bathroom with bathrobes. Hotel Bonvino Badacsony has an indoor pool with a jacuzzi, Finnish and infra saunas, steam cabin, child pool section and specially developed Spa treatments. Children and parents enjoy our indoor playroom and outdoor playground. Countless wine-related activities as well as beautiful natural trails await!
We went there for a prolonged long weekend and enjoyed our stay. The Hotel is nice and in a very good location. Just below the Romai Street, which offers after a short climb a breathtaking view on the lake and the surrounding wineries. If you happen to feel like cycling you can try the Kali 8 or just relax by riding along the Balaton. The staff was very friendly. The Hotel offers some special discounts on local wines that we took advantage of. Suggest you do the same. ;-) A HUGE PLUS is that they offer gluten free diet, which is really rare. Only drawbacks where: that the room is OK, but could be better. As well as the food varies from excellent to good, dependent on the day you visit. We will for sure go there again in the near future.

This is a really nice hotel with kind staff. Breakfast and dinner was nice, and theres a great selection of wines as well. The size of the spa is also really satisfying considering the size of the whole hotel. Windows could have been protected with mosquito net but this wont stop us from returning here. 😉

We went for a long weekend and we have booked, based on description and photos from their web site, a luxury room. The so called “luxury” rooms are described as more spacious than the standard rooms, are suitable for 3 adults or two adults plus two children (by adding extra beds), the picture of the room shows a nice modern style room, a bit better/nicer than what they advertise as “standard modern” room. Obviously the price is higher as well. When we opened the door of the room, we were shocked by we were seeing! The room was a small, no extra space as advertised, it was furnished just like their standard “rustic” rooms are shown in the picture on their web site. In fact, it matched exactly the so called “standard rustic” room. The only difference between that room and the…

Dear Zs. Fülöp, At first we were stunned. You were our first (and only) guest during our 7 operating years who wanted to reclassify our room categories. But this is hospitality industry so we tried to accommodate your "issue" (namely: that there can be different room designs even within the same category): As we were fully booked we could not change your room. Instead, you were offered to pay a lower fee for your room, you were offered a dinner invitation to our restaurant and when the next day you decided to leave we did not charge you for your reservation. All this just to make you happy. We are glad that your disappointment did not stop you from accepting all these gestures. Just to make sure everybody understand: all this is because your room decoration was different from what you have seen in a picture... To rectify your false description, luxury rooms have a large terrace, a spacious room space and the best location within the hotel (yours even had a bath!). Peter Torok ps: sorry for the delay in replying, my first was rejected by tripadvisor

Spent a long weekend hear. Good location, but our room had no view. Breakfast and dinner was all right, the restaurant serves quality local wines. The room was clean, but there was an unpleasant smell due to some drainage issue.

Two nights here (just out of season) on a motorcycle tour with it raining on the day off the bikes. The hotel has got options for swimming (pool looks a good size) and various spa treatments, didn't use them myself so can't comment hence the 'average' score. Room was a bit narrow but a decent size, evening meal was buffet style and again average but plenty of choice. Breakfast was poor (in my view) as not as lot of choice, coffee and tea area very cramped even though the hotel was quiet. Everything around the hotel was closed.

We spent a nice romantic weekend at the hotel. The hotel is 3minutes walk from Balaton. The buffet breakfast and dinner was very very good, with several meal options. We also recieved a voucher for winetasting. The staff was very kind, the rooms and bathroom nice and clean. Everything was good, except the bed was too soft for me. Since I have back problems I prefer harder matrasses. I really liked the posibility to rent bikes and e-bikes, I would recomend visiting the Szigligeti fortress, which is 9km away. The spa facilities were also ok and felt perfect after the bike trip. However they did not have slippers so do take a pair with you.

Perhaps having returned from a 4 star hotel in Mallorca the previous week has made me feel a little harsh about this hotel as the Spanish have had much more experience at keeping international tourists happy. Location is good. 5 minutes walk to the Balaton lake. Building and rooms are fresh , well maintained and clean. There is a terrace bar but no regular waiting staff servicing it , so you have to go into hotel and asked to be served. On one occasion I did this and half an hour later still no one had appeared. The food is very traditional Hungarian food and once again comparing to the choice and quality of the Spanish buffet this was found lacking- simple things like no breakfast tea bags and a small area where food was served resulting in people bumping into each other. The…

Dear angela9, Thank you for taking your time to share your opinion with us. We'll take your comments into consideration in order to continuously improve the quality of our service. However, I do not see clearly the link between our Hungarian style buffet and the lack(?) of tea bags. (A wide variety of premium quality Dilmah tea is offered, just next to the coffee machine...). Nevertheless, let me thank you once more for your feedback. Should you wish to contact me please feel free to write to me at torok.peter@hotelbonvino.hu . Kind Regards, Peter Torok

Badacsony is one of the best wine regions in Hungary and Hotel Bonvino is a great choice if visiting. Both the restaurant and the wine bar represent exceptional quality. The design is outstanding throughout the hotel. The buliding is in a short walking distance from Lake Balaton.

We've been there twice in the last two years during our trip to Badacsony and we had a very memorable experience both times. The staff is professional and friendly, the hotel is very neat and cozy, there are rooms in different styles and layout. Besides the great variety of local & other Hungarian wines you can also enjoy the restaurant's tasty dishes and the wellness facility (saunas, steam bath, swimming pool, jacuzzi). The hotel has a great location, it's worth to discover Badacsony and the other wine cellars as well.

2 nights to finish off a holiday site seeing in Budapest...and what a great choice to chill after the busy of the city! Arrived by train with 2 English and 3 Hungarian friends, journey from Budapest was cheap, easy and beautiful. You get off the train at a small station and the hotel is just up the hill, 2 minutes from the breathtaking lake Balaton. Lovely rooms, all very modern, peace and quiet with just enough going on to keep you amused, we were at the end of the holiday season but still had amazing weather, over 25degrees every day bar our return date...perfect. Our room deal was £75 for 2 nights dinner bed and breakfast...and well well worth it. Delicious buffet dinner and breakfast and a walk up the hill to a beautiful vineyard with free wine tasting. Pool, sauna and hot…
