We have returned here after a 4 year break, and we are a bit disappointed. We understand that Covid and after that the war has torn hosptiality services apart quite a bit, but this hotel deserves better. Four years ago this was an oasis in the middle of an albeit developing, but still not very attractive little lakeside wine-themed resort. This place used to be a shining beacon of affordable but outstanding hospitality. The surroundings have still had the aura of the past about them, but this hotel stood out as a great example. Now it is a mere shadow of its past self. Time has passed, the surroundings have developed with a rocketlike speed, but this hotel has not seen even a paintbrush to preserve its quality. In our previous visit in 2018 the service and the kitchen were extraordinary, now they were only mediocre at best. The room was the same, but the beds have become worn, the tapestry ragged, the spacing among the tiles in the flooring of the bathroom were dirty, even moldy at some places. The paint on the wall has seen better days. The aircon works either too loud and warm, or silent and cold. The windows let in a lot of cold air. The sound of the garage door, two floors below our room was very loud, and every morning some other aircon or whatever HVAC unit started working with a gentle, waking hum around 6:30. Probably the fact, that after today, the hotel closes for about two months, didn't help the mood of the staff, but this morning at breakfast they were already halfway out of the place. with the kitchen door ajar, you could hear every word, and it was not very pleasant. So yeah, there are already much-much better places around than this little hotel. It is a pity, seeing such a great value gone to ruin. We will not be returning, spending just a bit more will give you a far better value in the vicinity.

My wife & I recently spent 6 nights at the Bonvino in the small resort of Badacsony, on the northern shore of Lake Balaton . We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay due to its superb location and having a private car park (small charge). We were unsure at first because we had to book half board as only b & b was not an option. Our fears were unfounded as the evening meals were very good and in fact offered healthy options than the majority of the other places to eat in the resort. I cannot recommend the staff too highly, from those on reception to all those working in the restaurant. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I would particularly like to mention Szabolcs (Szabi), one of the waiters whose English was very useful when ordering drinks etc, and the lady & gentleman we saw on reception. A great place to stay!

The hotel is ok, location is nice, however by reservation complications quite unfriendly reactions. Not changing something after deadline is ok, but one should learn, how to communicate it in a friendly manner. Still at arrival they were quite unfriendly. I wonder, if it was because I tried to change, or it would have been like that anyway?

The hotel has a perfect location. The wellness was very good, not too corwded. The wine bar was excellent within the hotel with more than 100 extraordinary local wines. The hotel room was quite large but average quality, but the terrace was huge and very good. The catering was also average. Hableány restaurant is situated oppisite to the hotel, operated by Laposa winery, if you go here you must try it!

Bonvino is a family friendly Hotel right in the center of Badacsony. We received a cot on request and the restaurant had high chairs available. There is also cutlery for the kids and a dedicated play area for the children. The pool in the spa has a separated area with knee-deep water for the little ones. During our stay the sauna was in maintenance. What a pity! We were happy with the breakfast buffet: an abundance of bakery products, home-made jams, cold cuts, cheese some hot items (Vienna sausage, and omelet). I missed some healthier options such as porridge, muesli and nuts. The fruit basket was very small and the items in it were not appetizing. Dinner buffet was okay, the starters had quite a lot of imagination: salads, spreads, finger food. The mains were a bit boring and pork was in excess. In fact no goose was offered on Saint Martin’s Day at all. Rooms are ok, albeit a bit small for an energetic toddler. We heard a constant whirring / buzzing sound during the night. Perhaps it came for some heating pipes, or the A/C in the neighboring room was running all night. The staff was very friendly in all areas of the hotel.

We’ve really enjoyed our stay, thank you very much for making us feel so welcome. The staff are lovely and polite, rooms were well maintained and great and we definitely loved getting back to our room having the AC on in this summer heat. We had a swim in the pool every morning (and some evenings) — if you don’t have a child, you’ll love to know that they hold “quiet hours” at the pool when no kids under 14 can access the wellness area. We’ve also had a massage each that made us feel so relaxed. As the guests of Bonvino, we were given a voucher to have a small wine tasting at the Fata Vineyard that we both enjoyed - we definitely recommend this - do eat at the Fata restaurant too as the food is lush. We came to Badacsony to relax and drink wine, we left feeling relaxed and with 7 bottles of wine in our luggage (already trying to figure out how to deal with our baggage restrictions at the airport). We hope that we’ll be able to come back.

We were here for the second time as the hotel and food are above the average niveau around lake Balaton - if you think of a reasonable price and service quality. Unfortunately. The team at the dinner offered us an empty hangar to sit and have our meal. A lifeless room with no people in it. Of course we did not take it and have another chance in the room where all the other guests were. The answer and the discussion was short: Oh we are sorry, we can not put together two tables as so many people comes from rooms with two. I guess they are more important than us. So, we were on our holiday, sitting at two tables, meanwhile this room itself was as well half empty. Further on, funny, the lady with whom I had the discussion before and had seen the situation treated us as two separate family. Annoying.

Dear dr. Korcsik József, Thank you for copying your previously posted review to Tripadvisor as well. Please allow me to do the same with our response: We are really sorry to hear that our hangar was empty upon your arrival, we had to send out our plane on a special mission to find and locate some empathy towards hospitality workers. As our restaurant staff was getting ready to welcome our dinner guests they directed you to a table fit to accomodate you and your family. As you disliked that option they asked your kind patience for a couple of minutes until an other table of four is becoming available, but your preferred option was to sit to two separate tables. For the next morning our colleagues made sure to reserve a table of four just for you (so, we did not let the more important guests to sit there). Üdvözlettel, Török Péter

Spent 2 nights here recently. The rooms are okay, nice that most have semi-private outdoor area/terrace and the beds are comfortable. Hotel itself is small and fairly average for the Balaton in this price range. Buffet breakfast was definitely above average with very nice selection of traditional cured-meats - way beyond what I've seen anywhere in Hungary. They have small wellness area but 'SPA' is a bit of a stretch. No outdoor pool, but close to the beach which is great and also bars/restaurants and many wineries via 'shuttle' or short drive. Good wifi and free parking onsite.

Hotel located in the centre of small village Badacsony on Balaton lake. Few minutes walk to lake shore via short pedastrian promenade. The village itself seems to be a bit chaotic and on my understanding - only summer season place. Hotel has interesting planning, having room on two wings. To access some levels, you need to pass over restaurant, placed in middle of building. Room was equiped properly, beds was comfortable. Underground parking available + parking outside within hotel area. Overall it was short, but nice stay. Positive: good breakfast Negative: nothing specific to mention Would recommend.
