Looks like it was recently updated but nothing was installed very well. Very dirty with water/leak stains on the walls, floors, ceilings, everywhere. Walls, baseboards, doors, etc looks like they have never been cleaned. Room smelled like old cigarettes. Only good thing was that the staff was friendly and room was cheap, compared to other places in town.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The beds were comfortable and the amenities in the room were great. No air conditioning but the windows open wide and there was a fan in the room. The only downfalls were that the room was very dusty and there were dirty handprints all over. The room appears to have been recently upgraded but there were loose ceramic tiles on the bathroom floor and 1 of the couches was in very bad condition.

I have double feelings about this motel. Positive sides: the building is new, rooms look and smell nice, bathroom was great, kitchen clean, wi-fi worked ok, stuff friendly and helpful, our unit was more or less clean. Negative sides: Unit had no air-conditioning and felt very hot even during nights, like there was heater somewhere which was ON all the time. We kept all windows open in order to get some fresh cool air is, without it we wouldn't be able to breath, it was way too hot. But open windows meant street noise. And it is not just regular street noise. This motel has very poor location. There is a truck parking lot right across the street from motel and there is always a truck with idling engine. Also there is an active raiway very close, like, next block. Trains go there regularly during the day and night as well. When they go through the city they signal at every crossing. So, imagine, three trains per night, each signals 4-5 times, hot bedroom, we couldn't get decent sleep there at all. On top of noisy location this motel is not very clean. White door frames and doors have dirty spots around handles, there are spiderwebs in corners and other small things.

Once myself and my Mother entered the room, we were somewhat overpowered by the smell of cigarette smoke. Seeing that the room was quite hot due to the outside temperatures, we tried to start the air-conditioning unit. After 15 minutes, the air conditioner had shut off automatically. This was due to an insufficient power bar that could not handle the amperage required by the air conditioning unit. The motel staff replaced the power bar with a higher-quality type which resolved that issue. We were then given an oscilating fan to help cool down the room. Once that was plugged in and working, we ended up without power to half of the suite as the circuit was overloaded. After various attempts to resolve the issue by the motel staff, we decided to request a refund and move on. They did their best to resolve the issues at hand, but the damage was already done. Hopefully they will take this review to heart, and look into the electrical problems within each suite. Until then, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone looking to stay in Chetwynd.

This small local motel was surprisingly great! I wasn't expecting much at first but when I went in I was quite impressed. The front desk was helpful and nice, he laid out the entire town for me telling me where everything was. Even better, it was all within walking distance. The room itself was a bit old fashioned but still great. It included a full kitchen set and an HDTV. The beds were comfortable and there was a lot of space to maneuver around. The best part of my stay was that I was able to see the aurora lights at night time! Overall, I enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this motel. Personally, I'll be coming back to stay again.
