I think the average 3/5 review is a bit unfair. It's very economical. Slept very well. Perfect for Gibraltar, which is why people come to La Linea. The staff were polite and helpful with me. But it's worth being polite back- people react to how they're treated. Cuts both ways. I'd recommend people have a look round La Linea. It's quite a unique border town. I had a great, typical Spanish breakfast in one cafe (pan con tomate). The town has its notoriety but that won't affect tourists (I was a tourist). Better food there than in Gibraltar (which is why Gibraltans often cross the border to eat!)
We stayed for one night, the beds were so comfy, slept really well. Really clean. Staff were super friendly. Secure car parking. Couldn't ask for better. It was cold when we arrived, but they supplied extra blankets and we also had heating.
I stopped here for 5 nights at the end of September 2019. I arrived early but was able to leave my bags behind reception. The reception staff were friendly and was able to check in quickly. The room was tidy with TV, Air conditioning and storage for clothes. Bathroom was basic with shower over the bath. There was daily housekeeping with fresh towel. From the hotel it was a 20 minute walk to Gibraltar. Locally there are plenty of shops, bars and places to eat. The only let down was how well the bathroom was cleaned. I kept on finding hairs on the floor which were not mine. Just needed a good sweep. The bathmat in the bath could also be changed as it was not looking very nice. Also the bracket holding the shower head needed to be repaired. The Wifi was ok but could be slow at peak times and did loose connection from time to time. I would stay here again.…
The location was good, a little square with a choice of five or six cafe bars within two minutes walk. A supermarket in the road behind. We were only a short walk from the border to Gibraltar too, with places to stop en route and enjoy the view of the Rock. The room was fine, as were the room facilities. We had some washing done during our stay at a reasonable price and it was returned pressed as well as washed which surprised us. The staff were helpful, one man not quite so friendly but still ok. We had a very comfortable stay
April 4th & 5th,2019 major problems with loud music from a pub music bar on next street. No sleep on Sunday had to leave Hostal Paris and find other accommodation. Attitude from reception staff was not helpful in anyway Will never recemend Hostal Paris to anyone.
