Great place for hearty Sunday roast after a lovely walk round Swinsty reservoir. Very welcoming of boots, dogs and children. A good place to enjoy a Yorkshire welcome any day of the week. Good menu at reasonable prices.

Called in as we were passing on the way to York. Excellent food, very reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere, very laid back. Dog friendly and child friendly (maybe too child friendly - little buggers playing with Xmas tree and decorations but not chastised by their parents.) Beer OK but not wonderful. Would definitely call again

Today's group lunch was excellent and the new owners have made a distinct and positive impression. The hostelry was clean and well refurbished (the loos were a delight), the...

At short notice we booked a table for 7 adults and 3 little dogs - the staff were amazing, they cleared space, put up a table specially and couldn't have been more helpful. Yummy Sunday roast with great veggies - delicious puds. Thanks so much - you made our day.

A group of us stopped here for breakfast on route to a big local rugby match in Harrogate. Very warm welcome, beautiful old building, very tastefully decorated and delicious food. Highly recommend anybody passing to pull into the spacious car park and enjoy.

The service was great, everyone very friendly. Oh, and by the way, a lovely pint too. Nice to go to an independent family run pub not tied to a Pubco. We...
