We stayed here for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay,we were given a warm greeting on arrival by the reception staff and shown to our room with our luggage. The hotel is situated on the plaza mayor where there are a few shops and bars, the local Lerma red wine is very good as is most of the red wines... More

This is the first Parador I have ever stayed in and I think it's the best. It's an imposing building in a sleepy town. We stayed here on a road trip - no problem with parking. The building was beautiful and cool inside. We were offered an upgrade to the suite - as it was our wedding anniversary we took... More

The good experience started at the arrivel ! The girl at the Recepcion desk gave us the best welcome we could ask for, with information all the way to the room ! Absolutely the best ! - The room was nice, with a bottle of wine at the table, the bathroom delicate and clean. We liked the rest of the... More

Easily visible from the main A1 road this Parador is beautiful. It feels like a grand palace. The interior courtyard has a wonderful feel to it. The staff are very helpful. The rooms are of a typical parador standard- very good. If you are on your way to/from the Spanish Ports this is a good place to stop.

The food is not good!!! The reception staff are excellent. The rooms are lovely, proper Parador style, old and full of history. This is the eighth Parador we have stayed in and if the food was good we would come back..... More expensive than others...... Beware there is a market on a Wednesday and it can be difficult to get... More

Clean, comfortable and exceptionally well managed in an area that is depressed, lacking in tourist amenities. Stay only here. Believe me.....only here. The town Italian place is only reasonable and well prepared townie local food. The restaurants near the Monastery De Silos are suspect...beware....my daughter end up in hospital. Let a should be on a ghost town list.....very lacking.

We love Paradors and try to book where we can. The Parador de Lerma is a beautiful 17th century building that became a hotel about 14 years ago. Beautiful rooms with a Taps bar and a more formal Restaraunt. Outside it looks onto a lovely plaza with several quaint shops and bars. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Always wanted to try a Parador and this is in an ideal location during our long trek to the Costa Del Sol. This is the old Duke's Palace and the accommodation is centred around an interior courtyard which also serves as a bar. The Restaurant seemed expensive but we discovered a separate cafeteria that served wonderful Tapas at a very... More

The Paradore itself was wonderful and the rooms were large with high ceilings, and the bathroom was very nice. The "courtyard" in the middle of the hotel is awesome to sit and have cocktails. The surrounding town is great with a 16th century church that has one of the oldest organs in Spain.

Beautiful and well equipped Parador. Nicely refurbished rooms, nice huge lobby at the center of the hotel. Good gastronomic restaurant in the Parador with local specialities at very reasonable prices; nice choice of local wines, too. Breakfast is okay but not amazing.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The amazing ducal palace at Lerma, now a Parador, is located in the upper part of the city. The hotel features a central courtyard surrounded by lovely columned galleries. The elegant majesty of this palace from the era of the Hapsburgs and its lovely interiors, with beautifully designed lighting and decor, will make your stay an unforgettable experience. The Plaza Mayor (Main Square) is opposite the main facade of the palace. At night, the lights of the Parador make it look even more magnificent and stately. The medieval quarter, Arch, Carcel Bridge, San Blas Convent, Santo Domingo Monastery, Pasadizo del Duque (Duke's Passage) and former collegiate church of San Pedro are just some of the treasures you won't want to miss. The area around Lerma is well worth a visit. 22 Kilometers away is Covarrubias, a lovely village where San Cosme y San Damian Collegiate Church and Dona Sancha and Dona Urraca squares invite travelers to enjoy a leisurely visit, imagining that time has stood still in the Middle Ages and that little has changed since the year 987, when Count Fernan Gonzalez founded the town. About half an hour away by car is another treasure: the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos, a Romanesque jewel which has become a place of spiritual and artistic pilgrimage. It is also not far to beautiful Aranda de Duero, city of wine, monuments, history and culinary expertise. ... more   less
