Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall

Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall

Perfectly situated along Jamaica’s resort-heavy northwest shore, the Hyatt Zilara is one half of a two-resort beachfront Hyatt compound. Along with its sister property, Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, the two collectively offer a long list of communal amenities, including nearly a dozen restaurants, two large pools, and an oceanfront spa. The quiet, elegant vibe is what most guests would expect of a five-pearl, adult-only Jamaican resort.

Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall offers a picturesque beachfront setting that many guests adore, alongside a vibrant atmosphere filled with music and entertainment. While the beach, pools, and entertainment are often praised, some guests have called out issues with room maintenance and inconsistent housekeeping. Despite the attentiveness of some staff members, service can be hit or miss, with reports of slow responses and room readiness delays. Additionally, concerns over noise levels and the perceived value, with some deeming the resort overpriced, occasionally mar the otherwise popular experience.

My stay at this hotel was genuinely enjoyable, from the seamless check-in process to the delightful culinary experiences. The staff ensured that check-in was a breeze, welcoming me with warm smiles and providing all the necessary information without any delay, setting a positive tone for my stay.

The food, a crucial aspect of any hotel experience, exceeded my expectations. Whether it was the hearty breakfast that kickstarted my day or the exquisite dinner options, each meal was prepared to perfection, showcasing a fine balance of flavors that catered to a wide range of palates. The dining ambiance, combined with the attentiveness of the waitstaff, made each dining experience memorable.

However, it's worth noting that during my stay, there was a large group of high school seniors on their senior trip. While they brought a vibrant energy to the hotel, there were moments when their enthusiasm translated into noise, which might be a consideration for guests seeking a more tranquil atmosphere. That being said, this was a minor aspect of my overall experience, which remained largely unaffected by their presence.

In conclusion, my time at the hotel was marked by excellent service, fantastic food, and a comfortable environment. It's an ideal choice for those looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable stay. Despite the brief moments of youthful exuberance from the visiting students, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to other travelers, confident in the quality and comfort it offers.

This hotel is epic. Grounds are pristine, every staff member is happy and friendly and fun and brings so much joy to the Hyatt Zilara experience. The activities staff is 10 out of 10. Energetic, friendly, fun and funny. Restaurant staff is equally amazing. They bend over backwards to make sure no matter what your food preference or restriction is, you are fully accommodated. Shout out to Sandy and Marsha at the choices buffet who personally made our food exactly as requested. Check in was beyond flawless. We were treated to an upgrade to an ocean view balcony suite for no reason other than the fact that we had some low level Hyatt status. Every activity we participated in was fun, enjoyable and memorable. Pools were great. Ocean was too. If I had to say the one thing that was less than perfect it’s that at the adult only pool they allow saving of lounge chairs and there were many hours where no one sat on a lounge because someone got up to put a towel down at 8am so they could have their chairs when they were ready to come down four or five hours later. We watched as some of these chairs sat vacant until noon with nothing but a magazine left on the chair. My only critique would be that the staff should make a policy going forward to not allow saving of lounge chairs so everyone could enjoy the adult pool area. Definitely plan on a return trip to this all inclusive resort and highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a gorgeous place to stay in the area.

The property was beautiful & the weather was awesome. Our ocean front butler suite was large & clean. There were 2 Full Bathrooms which was great b/c we were traveling with (2) 18 year olds. The pull out couch was a KING SIZE, I have never seen one that large which was also a nice surprise! The Butler Service did not meet our expectations in any way, basically its job that could be done remotely b/c after checkin, it was the last time we'd see him. Everything was communicated by text, seriously it's like calling the front desk. We also rented a cabana for $218 per day which included a cooler full of drinks at our side when we arrived each day but you'd think the butlers had done that for us by the texts they sent. The food was mediocre at best except some breakfasts & the jerk chicken served poolside. If it were not for the amazing property & weather, it should have gotten average.

We stayed in the Zilara portion of the hotel and upgraded to an "Oceanfront Suite". I will caution everyone in that an oceanfront suite is still 300 feet from the ocean, and actually overlooks that pool. With that view comes the noise, so don't expect to enjoy the sound of the ocean from these rooms.

The suites themselves are average, but underwhelming for a hotel that advertises itself as 5-stars. We paid the $175 a night at the hotel to upgrade to this room, but would not recommend it to anyone as we did not view it to be anywhere near the value. We had issues with housekeeping not cleaning our room on 3 of our 5 days, but that may have been a freak oversight that others may not experiences. With the exception of the fitness center, nothing about this hotel deserves a rating of 5-stars.

My biggest caution to anyone staying on the Zilara side of this resort, is that you are extremely limited on your amenities if you really want to make your vacation an adults only. There are two dinner restaurants available on the adult's only side, but the days vary and reservations can be difficult to get. For the popular places (Asian, Italian, French and buffet) you have to go to the Ziva side of the resort which is kid friendly. This is obviously a preference issue, but I don't want to be experiencing screaming children when I am paying to be at an adult's only resort. There is an adult's only beach and pool that is nice during the day. Just use caution when determining what type of trip you are looking for.

There were rumors about the resort undergoing renovations in the future, which explains why everything just seemed average, and slightly rundown. There was no wow factor at this resort, and there are much better options at similar price points.

Here is the good: the rooms are spacious and clean, the physical property is beautiful and very clean, the pools and beach are beautiful, we loved the cabanas, the gym is very nice, and the drinks were very strong. The staff, while not always pleasant, was very hard-working.

The bad: if you like a quiet vacation, this is not the place for you. There is almost constant music/entertainment at the pool and it's pretty loud. You can hear it clearly from the beach. Our room was on the 4th floor, but above the club, and the music played until 1am every night. Similarly, the early evening entertainment, which is played in the lobby, was easily heard from inside the room. After reading some reviews before we arrived, I had requested a room in a more quiet area, which was not fulfilled. We were there the week between Christmas and New Years, so I can't blame them, but we were disappointed.

We paid for an oceanfront room, and while the ocean was visible, it was behind the pool and palm trees, the entire length of the property away. The room was over the pool. When I inquired after we got there, I was told that our room was ocean front.

The food was disappointing, but serviceable. Breakfast at Choicez was definitely the best meal we had. The fresh fruit and vegetable choices were very limited, which was surprising, especially the fruit, given the location. We ended up going off property one evening, because we just needed something better.

We loved the beach cabanas, they are amazing! They are basically shaded king size mattresses that are under shade. However, the sign-up system is definitely flawed. At the beginning of the week we were told they were sold out every day, and after inquiring more than once each morning, there was then availability. We also saw between 1 and 3 go unused every day, and were told that they were reserved and perhaps the people decided not to use them. However, for $160/day I find this very unlikely.

Finally, the air conditioning wasn't always on in the indoor spaces. The night we went to the Italian restaurant it didn't seem to be working. Luckily, we happened to be seated in front of a floor fan. Otherwise we would have had to leave. The night we tried to go to the piano bar it was too hot to stay. It's a shame, we would have enjoyed it.

There is no hospitality in this place. Far from any 4-5 star experience I’ve ever had. Having an all-inclusive resort that charges $10 delivery fees for room service is insane! I gave two stars because it’s pretty.

No alcohol in the room, alcohol at bars and restaurants are watered down and the most premium liquor is Maker’s Mark and Jack Daniel’s!!! I do not recommend! About 95% of their employees are rude and annoyed by the guests.

The water pressure in the bathrooms is low and some of my friends experienced loss of hot water. It’s obvious when owned by the Ritz it was awesome. This property is not owned by the Hyatt and it shows.

Hyatt Zilara is a wonderful resort to vacation at. It's on the pricier side and my husband and I thought there were many aspects to the resort that made the price worth it. The food is amazing! There's a variety of food types and the service was great. 24/7 room service is amazing and their menu is so good! The customer service and housekeeping were good as well. The resort itself is beautiful and quite big. The beach is quite small and exclusive to the resort. Oh, and the drinks were good too! One thing we really didn't appreciate was that people reserve pool chairs by hanging their towels on them early in the morning and then go about their days and return to the pool as they wish. You can't move their towels off the chairs even if that person isn't there the entire day. We learned quickly that we too had to do this if it meant securing a decent pool chair. Besides that, no complaints. The crowd at the resort for the most part are mostly couples and an older crowd. If you're someone who is looking for a lot of entertainment and parties, this is not the hotel for you. Anyways, we very much enjoyed our honeymoon and would definitely recommend this hotel.

I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this resort, especially given the cost. I specifically booked a poolside room at an all-inclusive resort to enjoy the convenience of room service and the privacy of my space. As someone who suffers from anxiety and struggles with crowded environments, having access to in-room dining is very important to me. I was shocked to learn that there was an additional $10 charge for room service. This is the first time I’ve encountered such a policy at an all-inclusive resort, as the expectation is that everything is included in the price.

Additionally, I found the accommodations to be outdated. The restroom had a persistent unpleasant smell, and the bathtub had issues throughout my stay. While the food itself was decent, the overall experience was overshadowed by subpar customer service. Many of the staff appeared disengaged and unfriendly, which is not the level of hospitality I have experienced at other resorts. For example, I’ve stayed at Hyatt Ziva in Cancun and found it to be exceptional in every way.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this resort and will not be returning. This experience did not meet the standards I expect from a premium all-inclusive resort.

After many searches and review reading, My wife and I decided to chose Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall. We were not disappointed by no means. Upon our arrival we were greeted by their staff with a cold towel and a tropical drink (very addictive!!!). Our room wasn't' quite ready, per their recommendation of Jamaica RootZ. We tried a seafood dish (fried fish/shrimp with coconut milk) and fried chicken were excellent. Upon checking into our room we had both pool and ocean view, except the music was too loud for us and OK for others, per our request the staff accommodated us promptly and swiftly by placing us in a more quiet location with a parcel view of the ocean (which was very acceptable). The grounds were well kept and clean at all times. Plenty of seating by the pool to relax. Be advised that there are early birds that secure their chairs for each day. Adult beach was very relaxing, plenty of chairs to relax in. The beach is side a little rocky on the adult side whereas water on the Ziva side (families) has a small area with smooth sand to enjoy yourselves. Much entertainment on both sides of the resort, plenty of water activities to participate in. Restaurant recommendations are Jamaica RottZ (curry goat and oxtails a must), Choice Z Buffet, CalypZo Grill, FuZion. Check out my man Christopher by the adult pool. Amazing Jerk Chicken w/rice and peas along with a salad. It is way better than Jerk Hut ( trust me on this one, tender and juicey). Overall superb service from all staff members. I will definitely stay again. Not too far from the airport. One recommendation please connect with Murphy (taxi service) he gave us a 3 hour tour along with rich history included. He will certainly meet your needs.

The Hyatt Zilara is a complete embarrassment of a hotel and taints the Hyatt name. I give this resort two stars only because the food was great and some of the staff were so attentive and wonderful. I do want to thank Vanessa & Clinton at Urban Heatz, Ashonie at the Italian restaurant, Dushane from the French restaurant, as well as Omari and Rahiem at Jamaica Rootz, who were fantastic! However, the rest of the hotel experience was absolutely subpar. The hotel itself appears old and run down with antiquated rooms and peeling paint on the exterior walls. We arrived after 3:00pm and were told our room was not ready yet and to return after another 30 minutes. If we were told at booking that check-in is at 3:00PM there is no reason why we should be waiting around for a room to become available. When we finally did get our room we realized that our showers didn’t have hot water and out of the 4 days we were there, they only did housekeeping once. Throughout the rest of our stay the drinks being served were flat and tasteless. All the bars close to the pool were swarmed with bees everywhere. We asked one bartender which mix drinks he recommended and he just basically poured us watered down juice that had been premixed and sitting out on the counter full of bees, so that he wouldn’t have to waste time actually making a drink. In another occasion we asked for two mojitos and they said they didn’t have mint, so we asked for rum and coke instead with some lime and they didn’t have lime or lemons either. How does that make any sense?! There was also an issue with the towels. Every time we would go to get one they were all out. One morning, we went and the man attending the counter told us we would have to walk over to the family friendly side to get a towel. If we are paying and booked a stay at Zilara, why would we need to be inconvenienced by having to walk to the other side of the property to ask for towels? Aside from the poor hotel experience, the hotel guests walking around with shirts that said “I love bald p**y” and “F** your sensitivity”. We even had a situation where one guy threatened to punch my husband after his girlfriend puked on the floor next to us because he thought we were laughing at her (someone puking is disgusting and definitely not a laughing matter). I think it is safe to say that we will never be returning to this resort and will probably think twice before booking another Hyatt all inclusive.
