I love Hyatt Zivas, very loyal to the brand, but this was was sub par. The facility was nice and the safety precautions were taken very seriously, no concerns there and appreciated the testing onsite to depart. But The level of service was hit or miss. Bummer to by paying for $159 cabana extra per day and have a waiter show up once an hour. The food was ok breakfast had fresh juices and the typical omelet (brown with tons of oil) crispy bacon good and fruit. But because it's buffet and you wait in line to get served things are stale. The lunch by the pool was poor (would wait an hour to get chicken nuggets for the kids). The dinners were international, nothing Jamaican. The hostesses need to learn how to say hello and greet people. It's a big property and the ocean has barrier to block waves so it's calm but lots of seaweed and wood chips? I wouldn't float or swim so I just did the pool which was in fine condition. The cabanas were very nice for an extra charge. The evening entertainment was fun (disco, Michael Jackson, a musician) with lots of people watching. It's load so don't expect to go to bed before 10pm local time. Air conditioning worked great. Good room service and robes were soft good linens and towels. So the experience was fine. I'm particular, and so I'm not returning. I like to visit different places anyway. But other Hyatt Zivas, even in Mexico, are far superior for service. We tipped because it's the right thing to do.

FIrst class week in Jamaica, man. This is a beautiful resort. I would go here again. The food was good. The rooms were clean and the restaurants were first class. The sailing was very fun. It was not too far from the airport. Nice!

Just came back home from this resort with the family. Overall the resort is alright - here is my take in more detail. Architecture/buildings/structures and rooms themself: definitely on the older side/lack of being taken care of. Need to be updated, fixed or modernized. Maybe thats due to the resort being closed for some time during the early stages of pandemic, maybe for other reasons such as lack of construction staff/resources - but there were noticeable issues- such as within our room, exterior of the buildings, chipped sidewalks, or chipped panels on the pool bar. So if you are looking for beautiful and modern rooms - this one is not for you. Service/resort staff: service of the resort staff was 5 stars. (This doesn't include service of staff in restaurants - read on for more info on that below.) Staff - including entertainment and concierge was professional and knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. From the day we arrive to the last day - this is one area I thought this place was really great on. they will do the extra for you - which was really nice to see. Actual resort: not big, which was a problem, we came with 2 kids (one was 2 years old and second one 7 years old) aside from kids club which was often empty or only had 2-3 kids there was just not enough for them to do to keep them entertained, other than being in the pool. So if you have kids - I would look into bigger and more child friendly resorts. I heard Jewel next door has a water park, something to look into if you wish to come to Jamaica. As far as the beach, on pictures it looked much bigger - its actually pretty small in reality. The rocks on the beach that you see in the photos do prevent the waves, which was really nice. The pools were wonderful. The other concern that we had was they were doing construction during the hours of 12pm-4pm and it was quite loud, we have a 2 year old who naps during the day. This was a big issue for us. So if you go be prepared for that. Me speaking to concierge/front desk didn't help much, and it only became an issue on day 3-4 when we were already fully unpacked and wouldn't want to switch a room. Restaurants/Food: we are from NY so its pretty hard to impress us, however I would also give this one a solid 4 stars. The staff at the restaurants did seem to have a hard time understanding us, several times they did get our orders wrong. However, they all politely exchanged. The only time we had a real issue is at Calypso where we were waiting for the food for good hour. The server did apologize and it did seem genuine. I highly would recommend the servers/workers to note when people are coming in with small kids - they need to be served quick, kids are impatient and that will reflect on parents who are trying to calm them down, we also want to enjoy our dinners. Entertainment: the area which has evening shows is tiny, if you want to see the stage better be there at least 30 mins ahead as it gets filled up quickly (especially when a good show is scheduled). Unfortunately we didnt have a calendar of shows so we always had to ask staff - would be nice for resort to post this somewhere online just like restaurant menus/reservations. Because we came with kids we werent able to attend to all entertainment but during the day there was stuff going on by the pool, yoga in the mornings and I am sure other things that we just were not aware off. Some activities are right in the middle of the day such as 2-3 or 12-2pm and with a 2 year old who naps she wouldn't be able to participate which was a bit of an inconvenience for us. Overall: Weather the whole week was beautiful. We met some wonderful people. We relaxed, and that was the whole point of this trip, but next time we will definitely go to a different resort. All in all we did enjoy this vacation.

Perfect view from the resort. All staff are friendly and helpful. Fairly wide selection of restaurants with good cooks.Best gym I ever visited, like ymca at hometown. the resort also has tennis court. I love coffee here. Why I gave 4 out 5 stars? First, the food quality in buffet restaurant was terrible, very limited selection, some fruits rot, and some were too salty. Second, the mini fridge never refilled. Maybe it’s Hyatt policy. Third, the beach is kind of small and shallow, even nobody swim there
