The stay here was very good, staff all very friendly and welcoming. A beautiful old building that has been well looked after, with beautiful surroundings too. We had a the most amazing 3 course meal. Which I couldn't fault everything I had was so tasty. The duck leg confit! I could eat and eat! The nights stay was good too,... More

Spent our wedding night here 19 years ago, this visit was for dinner. It's as good as we remember, food and service excellent. The chicken curry was very good, generous portion and tasty. Steak pie and chips was massive. Really enjoyable. Menu looked good and they have a specials board too. Wasn't a pudding I liked but maybe that's just... More

Staff were unwelcoming throughout. We felt as if we were a hassle at breakfast, the waitress checked her watch when we arrived before cut-off time. Nobody smiled or asked us how our stay was, everything seemed like a lot of effort...apart from processing our card payments of course.

Stayed here with boyfriend and yes the rooms are rather shabby sheek but it was was very spacious, extremely clean and had everything that we needed. Great shower in the mornings. Will say though that mattress not the most comfy, definitely needs a new one :( Staff were extremely friendly and very lovely and the breakfast was fabulous. We had... More

I had the pleasure of finding this hotel through trip advisor, after searching many around the area which had inflated tariffs due to Royal Ascot being on . I was very surprised to find a countryside hotel of This standard for the price they charged. The rooms were pleasantly decorated, bright & clean. The addition of a very busy and... More

I just read the last review, and couldn't believe my eyes. As it happens, I was staying in the hotel the same night and was actually around the corner out of site of reception when this woman was let in after forgetting her key, and then started shouting obscenities at the friendly and helpful staff because the reception had been... Contrary to their rather flowery publicity material, this is in reality a working man's "bed and breakfast" business, shoehorned into a lovely country pub. The accommodation is rather shabby and dated but at least clean and well appointed. The reception isn't manned very often and there is no bell on the main door which is often locked, neither is there... More

Mr Swashbuckler you are entitled to your opinions but some of the comments you make don't compare well with the truth, eg Tap? How busy the pub was? attitude of my staff? Faulty Towers? ect ect I Think the comments made by the last reviewer richardnw32016 explains The New Inn and the attitude of your wife perfectly!! So I will... More

Stayed overnight on their £99 deal. Staff friendly. Rooms do smell a little musky though which wasn't that pleasant, probably more to do with the age of the building. Food very nice with a good selection on the menu. Breakfast was perfect and lots to choose from. Will stay again.

Stayed here for three nights whilst visiting family in Sherfield on Lodden. Lovely big room, great views and most important spotless clean. It's good to stay in a place where you can adjust the room temperature, have a good shower, continuous hot water and lovely fluffy towels, quite rare these days even in 4 star hotels.Meals and wine were all... Set in the beautiful Hampshire countryside The New Inn has a lovely friendly feel to it. Lou ( from New Zealand ) was very bubbly and friendly. The wine was good and at a reasonable price. The food came in a good time, the only criticism was there was not a lot of blue cheese with the burger topping. The... More
