This resort is owned and managed by Mr R.S.Mehra, a thorough gentleman. He supervises and manages all activities, and never lets the guests feel out of place. We were 9 people of the family and had virtually the whole place (4 bedroom) to ourselves. Enjoyed thoroughly. We got an all inclusive package at a very good price directly from the... More

Have been to many hill stations and many different hotels but to believe in the excellent service by somerset staff, you need to stay and experience. The owner Mr. Mehra is extremely friendly and helpful. The property is 120 years old and extremely well maintained.

To begin with, we did not stay at Somerset Lodge but we frequented the cafe located at their huge premises. Though 'Cafe Gahana' was not fully functional at that time, they never declined us service. Their tea and coffee was great and so were the views from the cafe. The owner and the boys at work were great at hospitality... More

We came looking for a quiet weekend and found an oasis of tranquility. It's a small, cosy colonial property, with a lovely lawn for a sit-out and a library full of books for all ages. The service at Somerset Lodge is homely and unobtrusive, which is exactly what we wanted. We had lazy leisurely breakfasts basking in the sun and... More

The cottages are absolutely beautiful, give a very colonial, yet cosy feel. The views are magnificent. I have stayed here twice - the first time in the upper cottage and the second time in the cottage which is located a short trek away. Both the experiences were amazing. Plenty of treks and walks around the place. The owners take personal... More

Somerset Lodge, Mukteshwar is a beautiful vintage bungalow set in the midst of hills with amazing views on a clear day. The hospitality, though not professional (as is the case with most homesteads/ small lodges), is nice, mostly prompt and warm. Mr Raju Mehra, who owns the place, is a great guy and generally meets most of your requests. A... More

My eight year-old daughter and I spent three blissful days at Somerset Lodge in April. Waking up to those magnificent views, and flowers and birdsong on every side, was delicious, and we read on the lawn for hours. Rooms were spacious and basic. The staff were perfect, the food home-cooked and excellent, Nearby were beautiful walks and various activities which... More

The Somerset Lodge is an amazing place to spend a quiet few days close to nature. We visited it first in early 2014 and ever since have been here at least 6 times—that speaks volumes about how lovely and enchanting Somerset is for us. For starters, I would like to contradict Mnanne's view that the walls of the building are... More
