Visited with family in the Month of August. Hospitality, weather and overall stay was excellent Travelling : Around 20 km from Bhimtal by road. Road condition is good but one needs to be vigilant while driving during monsoons due to hilly roads and landslides prone area. Parking : You can park your vehicle at the roadside in the village Matial... More

I was not a bird watcher until I was at this paradise called Jilling... while my stay was pretty short but I had a pleasure to watch these 2 birds, somehow they were always seen together, they fly together, eat and play together.. perhaps fight together too.. .. I loved watching them again and again at a place which has... More

If you want to feel how ace hunter Jim Corbett might have felt in nearby Mukteswar or Champawat while walking through the Kumaon hills on the tracks of tigers, this is a great place to begin. In this home stay of cosy, book-lined cottages, prefer the topmost, the Dera or Den. It's close to the Ridge, which falls steeply to... More

Steve and Parvati are the soul behind this mountain garden. As you huff and puff your way up from Matiyal to Jilling, your thoughts of how things are going to be will be frequently interrupted by the beautiful scenery of forested mountains interspersed with little villages and clouds floating by. If you are lucky you can see a couple of... More

I am almost hesitant in reviewing this place because I don't want too many people heading there. This place is genuinely my favourite getaway spot in the country and in no small measure is that because of the hosts - Steve, Parvati and Nandini (when she's around) make this scattering of cottages atop the Estate an unbelievable venue for any... a very quiet place, good food. nice rooms, campfire, lots of rest. perfect to rejuvenate. we visited at the starting of rainy season. this place is a real cloud factory. all around there cloud were getting formed. sometimes you have to stay in a cloud or hours, and to get that you just sit quiet in the verandah. floating clouds,... One of the few places on earth where I don't mind going back, again and again! It made me feel we had pressed some time travel button! Didn't know such places exist. Steve, his wife Parvathi and their daughter Nandini were more like our foster family! This certainly is not the place for those looking at an urban-kinda vacation. The... More
