I spent 7 night in the Karmir Resort & Spa Hotel, Kemer. Good points: - Close to the beach - There is a road right next to the hotel but it’s not busy and so safe to cross - Nice, big pool - Clean room - Good food, snack bars, drinks and alcohol - Animation team works very well - Bus stop next to the hotel - Markets within a walkable distance - Mirgos market not too far (500m) - Beach towels available for free - Transfer from Airport to Hotel took about 1 hour - Bad points: - Wi Fi only available in the lobby!!! If you want it in the room, you have to pay extra - Beach not big enough big - too many people in a small area - Not easy to walk on the beach without special shoes - You can’t see the beautiful sunsets from the Karmir area because of the mountains - If you lose a key or towel you will pay a penalty - If you want to change rooms, you’ll have to pay extra - Not much entertainment for children - The radiator seems to come on during heavy rain and it’s very noisy! This happened twice during my holiday and it lasted for hours. It sounds like a siren, so it was a very scary experience. - You cannot take any food outside of a restaurant. - If you travel after October please note that the sun reaches the beach up to only till 2-3pm. After then it’s hidden by the mountains.

Have you noticed how this hotel never comments on Tripadvisor reviews? This is a nice small hotel that's kept very clean, is in a quiet area and with helpful staff. But... Rooms We had paid extra for 3 separate rooms. We were given rooms on the first floor right by the toilets and bar. This meant little sleep as toilets could be heard flushing, a lot of noise from the bar and doors banging. Also a generator from the hotel next door was noisy all night. They changed our rooms after we told the holiday rep. However, one room was right by the lift so it was noisy and we were above the bar, so could hear noise and stools dragging on the floor. The hotel charge 10 Euros to change rooms a 2nd time event though they had given us unsuitable rooms in the firs place. There is an authoritarian manager called Serhat who is rude and angry - beware of him. Cigarette smoke The biggest problem with this hotel is cigarette smoke everywhere. The hotel left the door open so cigarette smoke came into the main lounge from the smokers terrace outside. They wouldn't close it. Guests seem to be mainly Russian, Turkish and from Eastern Europe and who like to smoke. The smoke got into rooms through air conditioning and I got headaches and tightness in the chest. Even on the beach they were smoking! In the restaurants, pool area, entertainment area. Don't go to this hotel if you don't like cigarette smoke. This ruined my holiday. Lounge and Bar Area Cigarette smoke everywhere! Lack of sofas and chairs for guests. The hotel needs to get more furniture. Food The food is freshly made and plentiful. We enjoyed the local dishes and waiting staff were very helpful. The cake shop was very good. There is little choice in hot food for vegetarians and the local alcohol is disgusting, stay away from the cocktails. Beach No beach - you have to walk 5 mins across a main road to a small pebble beach area with sunbed (lots available) and a snack bar. Again lots of smokers, so find a sunbed at the back. Spa We had a Bali message which was great. The people running the spa are friendly and professional. Pros Food was good but a bit repetitive after a while. Good acts for entertainment like salsa dancers. Staff mostly polite, helpful and friendly. Cons Small hotel run by authoritarian people at the front desk. Definitely not 5 stars. Waiting staff look exhausted as they work long shifts. Cigarette smoke everywhere. They make you pay for wifi in rooms, a la carte restaurant and to change rooms. Kemir has few local attractions or shopping areas. Even though the hotel has a Tripadvisor Travellers Choice award, I would not recommend going here. There's much better hotels to choose from in Turkey.

I am currently staying at Karmir Resort in Goynuk. Overall, I really like this nice place. The hotel is compact, very clean, the area is not too big, but anyone can find here all attractions. There are many activities every day, even now in a low season. The outdoor swimming pool is large and clean, the indoor swimming pool is the same. In a distance of ca 200 meters there is a beach with free sunbeds, towels and a snack bar. Bus stop to reach Kemer is at the hotel gate. Hotel rooms are mid-size, fairly furnished. As for the food, I have no complaints - big variety, good quality, anyone can enjoy for sure. The hotel is also kids-friendly. I am amazed by the service and staff: young people, working 10-11 hours/day, still helpful and offering their best to please the customers. My special thanks go to: Emre at the hotel reception Mustafa at the main restaurant Yusuf at the lobby and terrace service There are only 2 minor remarks from my side: It is my 6th stay in really good places in Turkey, but I never had to pay extra fee for the wifi availability in the hotel room. Second point may be a bit delicate, especially in 2022, but it is still worth of mentioning: I have no problem with Russians being the majority of hotel guests, but I heard many other languages around, so overdosing of russian-language activities (animations, music) does not seem well balanced. ALL guests pay their stay and wish to enjoy their vacation. The hotel management should consider this point and perform in favor of more nations.

Got back from yesterday from this wonderful hotel. The staff are great, the food was lovely, the level of service was top notch. As a person of colour, I felt at home here. A cultural hotel with modernity. My travel agent Keenan helped me a lot. Visited the Andrasa Maldives and Antalya Citi tour. My family can't wait to go back to Kamir Resort. When you do visit, remember to use the spa.

We Had Holiday in Karmir Middle of October, very good wheather , Sea was warm and i enjoyed swimming in Sea. Hotel was really clean, staff was nice to us. Pool is good, we Had fun with good music, Food was awesome, so Many things to try. Entertainment team Are great and they help if you need anything. Except restourant, you can Eat kebab, pizza, too much cockies, cakes. You have mini bar on a pool and on a beach. If you want to rest on a night you can go on a lobby, you have drinks. You have restourant with their traditional Food, also you have a la carte restaurant. We Had a lot of fun, i recommended this hotel, if you come you want regret.

Positives: Lovely beach with warm & clear sea - added bonus is that it was never too busy and not a struggle to get a sunbed at any time of day There is only one pool but it is large and split into four different sections. They regularly clean the surrounding area throughout the day. The entertainment team are very friendly and always try to involve you in the activities - a special shout out to Onur who was always super friendly and helped us with every need, not just the entertainment! Whilst you do have to pay €15pp for the a la carte restaurant its definitely worth it - a 4 course meal which thoroughly enjoyed and significantly cheaper than eating in gonyuk or kemer. Negatives: Majority of the staff speak little to no English so it is difficult to communicate, in particular with reception which we didn’t find at all helpful (special mention to the night receptionist that checked us in and the only communication we got from him was asking us if we liked doing drugs and what the drug laws are in England). The biggest issue we had was at mealtimes. Being coeliac, it’s important I follow a strict gluten free diet. We had contacted the hotel beforehand and reminded them on arrival about this. We were constantly sent between reception and the restaurant, with each saying the other was responsible for ensuring allergen free food. The restaurant didn’t seem to know what was in their food and I was constantly being given incorrect information by various different ‘managers’ which led to me being fed gluten multiple times and causing me to become quite ill later on. I dread to think of what could happen if someone with an allergy that could cause anaphylactic shock was to eat here. Eventually they started cooking separate meals for me, which usually just consisted of some boiled broccoli and little squares of meat, hardly what you’d expect from a 5 star hotel. Allergies aside, the food was buffet style and initially seemed like a good variety but they serve the same selection every day which got very boring and repetitive by halfway through the holiday. Overall: Food issues aside, I’d sum it up as you get what you pay for. The hotel doesn’t try and pretend to be luxury and is cheap and cheerful but without feeling tacky. The reception team aren’t a particularly helpful bunch but the entertainment team are all very friendly and run activities throughout the day. There’s also holiday reps selling various day trips so there’s plenty to do if you don’t want to sunbathe all day. The evening shows are a little hit and miss but there are lots of good ones so if your first few aren’t great then don’t give up! I personally wouldn’t return to the hotel but if you’re not a massive foodie and looking for something cheap and cheerful you’d likely enjoy your stay here and it is a nice hotel overall, despite the issues we faced. Top Tip: Make sure you bring cash with you because the atms nearby are aimed at tourists and charge 4-7% to take out cash regardless of who you bank with!

I love Turkey and we have been to many great resorts. This one for claiming it’s ‘5 star’ was a bitter disappointment. It seems all this resort does is want to charge for what should be included in 5 star prices I. e branded drinks, pool table, lost room card to name but a few additional charges. The a la carts restaurants are extra and the buffet from lunch to dinner for a week is very samey. I can’t say anything negative about the bar, buffet or animation staff-they are so friendly and welcoming. I feel the issue here is with the reception staff and the management who fail to respond to concerns.
