A lovely location for our summer holiday with the children and the host made us feel very welcome. There is lots to do at the lake and at the local town of Georgiouoli where you can get supplies and there are a lot of restaurants to eat out. If you have a car its also worth the drive across the island to the port of Sfakia where there are great views and a lovely place for lunch. It was a truly relaxing and enjoyable holidays and thanks to Eleftheria's hospitality it felt like a home away from home.

A wonderful villa with great view not far away from Georgioupolis. Eleftheria welcomed us with selfmade cake, olive oil and a bottle of brandy. Enjoying the warm nights in the pool or sitting on the terrace in a quiet environment made this holidays unforgettable. Can't wait to come back - thanks for everything!!

The Villa is located at the Kournas Lake in the center of Crete. The perfect place to reach all spots of the Island. From the villa you have a beautiful view to the lake, the mountains and the sea. The furnishing of the house fullfills all wishes. It was very clean with a perfect pool and so much space for our family (4people). The host welcomes us very friendly and gave advice for all question. You can reach several restaurants, supermarkets and the beach in a view minutes. We would recommend a rental car.

What an amazing place this was. Villa was great size, very clean and comfortable, the pool was perfect and the view...wow...pictures simply do not do it justice.
As we are very much explorers this villa and location were perfect for us - we visited Georgioupolis, Elafonisi beach, Argyroupoli, Chania, Rethymno, Samaria Gorge, Ancient Aptera, the waterpark at Limnoupolis, and Kournas ...as well as the lake itself - a pedalo is so much fun and the water very refreshing.
We found there was a good selection of places to eat but our favourites were without doubt Kavalos just behind the villa (less than 5 minute walk) and Athitis (less than 10 minute walk) - both were welcoming, had great views and service, and food which was so reasonably priced and delicious too!
Georgia's tavern also worth a visit - although a bit further - still less than 15 minute walk tho.
Finally a huge thank you to the amazing hosts - couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming.
We will be back!

We are a family of four and we stayed for one week in Villa Rea. The location and the villa is perfect! 10 out of 10!! It feels very private and secure but you can easily and quickly get to other towns and beaches.The pool is gorgeous and is perfect for family fun. The view of lake Kournas from the pool is breathtaking and it's lots of fun to swim in the lake or hire a pedal boat. The villa itself is very comfortable and cosy. The bedding and towels are lovely and fresh and the villa has everything you need.It is also very clean and well maintained. The main kitchen diner has high ceilings and lovely furniture. The terraces around the villa have lovely plants and a variety of garden chairs and loungers you can use to relax. The hosts have a taverna a few minutes away and speak good English. They gave us a wonderful warm welcome even though we arrived much later than expected. They kindly gave us homemade honey cakes, raki and fruit. They helped us when our luggage got lost by the airline and we had a few lovely meals at their taverna. I have travelled widely in many countries and I am happy to say this is the best holiday villa I have ever rented. If you are looking for a well designed, comfortable villa maintained to the highest standards, with its own pool in a great location then you must rent villa Rea. I promise you'll be as delighted as us. We hope to come back another time. Thank you for a wonderful family holiday.

I spent a week at the Bluefairy Villa Rae in May 2013. It was a wonderful rental; the amenities were excellent, spacious, clean, modern and had a washing machine which was golden for us. The views of Lake Kournas (right below the Villa) and the surrounding views were spectacular. In addition, there is a private pool at your Villa if you want a lazy day at home. The location was perfect for our plans to discover the surrounding areas of Crete. The Landlord Eleftheria Athitaki and her family were so generous and welcoming to us. I would definitely recommend this Villa as a rental!!! It sleeps 7 people, the open concept, patios (first & second floors) and private pool plus the Lake at the bottom of the hill make for an ideal vacation spot ....I am definitely coming back and renting the same Villa! Thank you Eleftheria for a wonderful week at Lake Kournas and Greek hospitality!

The house is very well equipped. The location is great. The view of the lake and the sea spectacular. It is very quiet in the neighborhood. So the house offers the best conditions for a good rest. A rental car is recommended. The booking through the landlord Eleftheria at Euro Rent worked perfectly, with shuttle service from and to the airport included. The welcome and care by Eleftheria and her family was great. Thank you again for that. Repeated cleaning and regular fresh linen were included in the great service. We had an excellent stay in this holiday home and would highly recommend it.

We had a very nice holiday in June. We can only recommend the accommodation! A very nice house with a beautiful pool and a great view. The owners were very friendly and gave us some great excursion tips and a great cake. The tavern in the immediate vicinity behind the villa was the best. We would always resort to this accommodation and can highly recommend it.

Stayed by family for 18 days. The Villa has almost everything. Eleftheria and her father are wonderful people, always ready to help.
The Villa is very clean, cleaning twice a week. Every time we returned home after cleaning we were expected by different tasty things from Eleftheria, for which special thanks)
From the terrace a stunning view of the lake and mountains. Early in the morning, when there is no wind, the mountains are reflected in the lake, as in a mirror, an unforgettable view.
Just above the Villa is KAVALOS tavern, and just below, on the way to the lake, ATHITIS tavern, highly recommend to visit.
I hope we will come back here again.

Dear Kate Head,
The villas REA & DAFNI ( as you can see from our photos on the site ) are exactly the same with 2 bedrooms each villa and with the same view to the lake and the sea. AMELIA is at 5 minutes on foot from the others with the same view to the lake and the sea. The difference from the others is that it has 3 bedrooms and different decoration.They all have their own pool. REA and DAFNI also have a larger living room than AMELIA.

There are two supermarkets in Georgioupoli, about 3 km from the house.The better one ist the first on the right side when you drive from Kournas lake to Georgioupoli, in opposite to the very nice bakery.
More supermarkets are in Kavros, about the same distance. I´ve never been in these supermarkets, but they seem to be a little bit bigger . They are in the street that goes parallel to National road. I´m sure you´ll find all markets. Have a nice holiday
