We stayed here only for two days but what a brilliant little hotel. The owner Spiros and his family and staff are so polite and accommodating. I read the story about the beginnings of the hotel at the back of the menu and its a great story and really makes you appreciate what the hotel is about. Lovely rooms and fantastic location. Wish we had stayed longer as it was such a lovely area.
We stayed here for two nights and we were very pleased with the hotel - good sized rooms, very clean and comfortable. Wide variety of food for breakfast both hot and cold. Incredibly helpful and friendly family running the hotel. Nice pool too. We were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend
Me and my husband have just returned from a short break. What can I say, it was daunting traveling due to Covid 19 that said I would certainly recommend Corfu, it's worth wearing the face mask for. The staff, amazing, it was like staying with extended family. So helpful, polite and attentive. Always working hard to make sure you have a lovely stay, nothing is too much trouble, always willing to help with anything, from recommending places to eat, thank you Spiros for recommending Romeos, what a beautiful restaurant, amazing home cooked food by Kostas and his wife, it's well worth a visit. Back to the hotel - Great location, everything within walking distance, beach, restaurants, shops and cocktail bars. The room in the hotel, spotless, lovely little touch with the mossy plug, a fridge, great aircon and the little bows they make out of the towels and they even pop in complimentary toiletries. Plenty of hot water and the rooms decorated lovely. You can see the love and care put into the hotel. Even the corridors are welcoming. The pool area is a lovely space, very clean and a sun trap, bar next to the pool so on a hot day what more could you ask for. If you want to be greeted with a smile and a genuine warm welcome I would recommend this hotel and certainly stay here again.…
Comfortable hotel and friendly staff. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool. Spiros, the owner, and all the staff very helpful. Great place to stay if you want to be in Gouvia area. Hotel followed Covid-rules at breakfast.
The room was clean and so was the hotel. We stayed here for 9 days and Spiros was our host. He likes to make a chat with everyone and you can see he loves his work. Ask him what beaches to go to in Corfu, you'll see beaches you won't go to that soon, but are so beautiful! The location was perfect in Gouvia, in a quiet street, near the main road. Within 15 minutes your in Corfu Town with the bus, most of the nights we spend there. The pool is most of the time really quiet and that's nice. There is also a lot of beds and places to sit, you can get drinks by the bar. During breakfast they followed the COVID-rules and someone was making your plate instead of doing it yourself. The only downside was that there wasn't fresh fruit as an option during breakfast.
Great swimming pool Very clean room ( no frills ) excellent air con Very good breakfast, limited snack menu for rest of day lots of restaurants near by , no brits staying while we were there , really nice vibe all round ,safe and comfortable
Stayed here for 4 nights and quickly realised that we had made an excellent choice. The hotel is only small with i think 26 rooms, this makes it a very friendly hotel which is good for both couples and family's. Lots of nice things to comment about: - mosquito mesh on the french doors of the room, - fried eggs and omelettes at breakfast, - very friendly staff, - rooms cleaned to a very good standard every day, - fridge very cold, - nice big balcony, - nice pool, - good little bar on an evening, - supermarket across the road, - in room safe, - aircon was very good (and free!) - close to all the restaurants & bars, - close to the beach, - always hot water available & a powerful shower, - quiet and a good nights sleep, - even an electric mosquito tablet burner with tablets in the room. The room also had a flat screen TV but unfortunately I cannot comment on this as we were on holiday and never even considered turning on the TV, why would you? We often go to Greece but this was our first time in Corfu, we usually go to Kos and the standard of hotel we go to is 3 star, but this hotel is marked as a 2 star, i think they have them the wrong way round?! This hotel is at least a 3. Everything with this hotel was excellent and we will be using it again, thank you Maltezos and all your staff!…
Just spent 4 nights at the Matezos and it was a real delight! The owner, Spiros, was a charming guy and all the family are lovely and friendly. We spent only 4 nights here before moving on - sadly the new place at the water park is not a patch on the Maltezos. A few things to set the scene - it’s small - only 22 rooms I think, but we had a quadruple with a comfy large double bed and 2 other full size singles. For parents with a 16 and a 9 year old, it was fine. The bathroom was fine, with very good shower and always warm or hot running water if you wanted. The pool was fab. Very quiet (at times) although only big enough for about 15 sun beds at the most. We spent 2 days here and 1 by the beach, but be prepared as the beach is just pebbles. It is only a 5 min walk from the hotel though so we were back to the pool later in the afternoon. Gouvia comes alive at night with the lovely Tavernas and had 2 great meals at Romeo’s (recommended by Spiros) and Da Roberto e Fei. Lovely Giros too at Nicols. Spiros and family make lovely milkshakes and there is a small lunch menu. For us though it is all about eating out when in Greece. Breakfast fills a hole and there is plenty but only downside to me is no hot toast! A very minor blip!!! Overall we had a lovely time and we definitely recommend it as a place to venture to. Thanks - from the milkshake family!…
We stayed at this hotel for only 1 night. The owners were very friendly and helpful . Good location for beach and local bars , tavernas and a few minutes walk from bus stop. The bedroom was very nice , modern with free air conditioning. A good selection for breakfast. Would definitely return here when in Corfu !
we have just returned from a 14 day holiday at this lovely hotel.i am confined to a wheelchair unable to walk.we were given a ground floor disabled room.which was very spacious.as was the bathroom with wheel in shower.it was spotless.beds and towels were changes every 2 days.the hotel was very wheelchair friendly.i would recommend the hotel to anybody although the resort is very nice .but is not very wheelchair friendly.a lot of the bars and restaurants have steps no ramps.the maltezsos is a family run hotel.and they can.t do enough to help you in any way.our thanks to spiros and his lovely family. from bill and ruth co durham
