What a Fantastic hotel,.... great weather, we took 7 days away in corfu, having had 2 previous bookings cancelled due to covid 19 we were impressed by the hotel and staff and would go again whilst clearly Not the fault of the hotel they could do with more staff serving in the dining room as Buffet service was suspended when we where there and you could be served soup and then wait 4 or 5 mins for a bread roll to go with it ! the food was varied but could do with more seasoning
We stayed here for 7 nights recently in a Superior room, which was a good size and had a big terrace to sit out on. All the staff we encountered at the hotel were really friendly and always happy to help. I agree with all the other reviews that the Covid measures in place were very good, we personally chose not to wear masks in the restaurant as we generally chose to sit outside and constantly taking it off and on makes it feel unhygienic. We seem to eat at times when it was quiet so didn't need to queue. Usually on holidays we self cater but due to the pandemic we felt that booking half board made more sense as at least we could always get food! We ate in the evening 4 times and found the food to be varied and tasty and drinks reasonably priced. One of the reasons for choosing this hotel & Gouvia was that it was pretty much the centre of the island and it was a great location for exploring. We'd hired a car from the airport and spent the week driving all over the island which was great fun, Corfu is a stunning island, lots of great recommendations on Trip Advisor of where to go. We didn't manage to spend any time around the pool but we had a look one evening and it looked like a great place to chill out. Oh and if you watch the Durrells, the house that is featured in the show is about a 25 min walk from the hotel. You have to wade through some water to get to the pier to take a pic but it's worth it :)…
We had two wonderful weeks here and cannot fault the hotel in any way. All areas are spotlessly clean and very well maintained. We stayed in a junior bungalow suite-very spacious and comfortable with a lovely view over the olive groves to the sea. The food in the restaurant was very good with plenty of choice both at breakfast and dinner and although all the staff were friendly and helpful, a special mention goes to Zoe, Giorgos and Chrissanthi who really could not do enough for you! We thought the Covid measures in place were really good and felt very safe. would not hesitate to stay here again.
We stayed for 6 nights in October and had a great time. The hotel is lovely and modern. All the staff we came across were very helpful and friendly. Everything was spotlessly clean - both public areas and bedrooms. Swimming pool area was very well maintained, with no problem at all getting sunbeds. Food was good, with plenty of variety. Drinks were reasonably priced. We felt very relaxed and confident with all the Covid measures in place - plenty of hand sanitiser in all the public areas, all staff wearing masks, guests advised to wear masks, signage, food served for you rather than help yourself buffet etc. I was surprised, and would disagree, with a recent review that was critical of the Covid measures in place. Gouvia is only 10 minutes walk away and, although there’s not loads there, we found decent cafes and restaurants. Bus stop a short walk from hotel to get bus into Corfu Town; which took about 20 minutes. Overall would recommend.…
Had been there 6 years ago and still the best place in Corfu for so many reasons. Love the rooms and now the new bungalow suites in a beautiful location between the olive and fruit trees, so relaxing and so much privacy and well equiped. The amazing staff does everything they can to make you feel at home, love the family run atmosphere, the kindness, hospitality and thoughtful attentions like buying umbrellas on a rainy day where else you see that happening ? Thanks to the staff we have been at places that are not mentioned on the map. Other advantage the hotel is perfectly situated to explore the island, and there is a lot to see. The pool and poolbar are a nice place to relax and have a drink or lunch or just sit under the trees reading a book. The food is amazing and a combination of traditional mixed with international food with a lot of fresh and traditional products. The staff in the restaurant did an amazing job seen the covid rules and issues. Salads and some starters in small portions that you could take yourself and for all the rest the staff accompany you at the buffet. Seen some comments that it was not organised well but believe that is incorrect, if the staff was already dealing with somebody you could sit down and wait a second iso making a queue, it is vacation so you should have time to do that. Seen also comments about the facemask and handgels and must say I don²t understand that as there are enough gels and wearing a mask is not the responsibility of the hotel but an individual choice (ALL staff was wearing a mask) and to be honest seen several people wear it and then put the mask open on the tabel is that hygenic and safe or come to the pool with a mask and sit on the sunbed cussions without using a towel ? Anyway we felt safe and happy to be away from it all for a while and we can only thank ART Debono for that. For us the number 1 in Corfu and the only place we stay when taking vacation in Corfu. Thank you all at Debono for the incredible vacation; the beautiful suite and your hard work each one of you. Have a lovely and safe year end and hope for better times next year. Take care of our little kitten friend and until next tme…
