I had high hopes for this hotel after reading the reviews and first opening the door. Although it was clearly dated, it was roomy and charming. We must have booked a suite because it had 2 rooms, kitchen area and a lovely balcony that overlooked the square and was covered with flowers. The main problem was sleep quality which was... More

It was average at best. We only had breakfast durning our stay. The town did have everything and a great beer store across the street. Housekeeping was very nice and did a great job. The room was large.

My wife and I stayed in a junior suite for 2 nights while attending a trade fair in Nuremburg. Konigstein is a nice village with a friendly atmosphere. There is a grocery store, a bakery and ATM machine all within 50 metres of the hotel door which was convenient. It was an easy 50km (30min) drive into the trade fair... More

I was in town with my hubby because we are traveling through Germany. One of our friends recommended the hotel, because he used to stay there when he was working with the nearby US Army base. The staff is really nice, the young do speak english and all of them are very helpful and caring. We had a pretty room,... More

The only redeeming factor of our stay in this hotel was the room. Having stayed in many towns in Germany, my wife and I were even impressed with the size and coziness of our double room (thin walls however) but the service and restaurant seriously need work. Both of our meals were borderline disgusting- but since the portions were very... More

Staying here is like staying at your grandma's house. The furnishings/decor, though clean & well-maintained, are like taking a trip back to the 1980's...but in a rather charming & comfortable way. The staff are generally quite hospitable and helpful when it comes to travel tips for the area (the younger ones speak serviceable English and the older ones seemed at... More

My husband and I stopped here only one night on the way to Frankfurt from Flucau as we wanted to stop in Regensburg en route. The hotel was very clean and the staff wecoming. We had a wonderful dinner in the hotel dining room ( they have thier own meat market attached) and the breakfast while not outstanding was good... More

“We had a choice of here or in Amberg. If I had it to do again, I would have stayed in Amberg. Although it is a bit further from the base, there is more night life there and therefore that is where we went several times with our son.”
