We stayed here after attending a Memorial Service in Puddletown. We were shown a beautiful room, had a delicious dinner and followed the next day by breakfast - again really delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and it had parking which is such a joy these days!

We booked this hotel on the recommendation from family to attend a wedding nearby. The staff were all pleasant and friendly, rooms clean and very comfortable breakfast was excellent. The only disappointment was that we did not have time to fully use the bar or restaurant, however the family all got together for a meal the night before and said...

20 of us descended upon the hotel and were pleasantly surprised with the hospitality we received from both the staff and management. The rooms were ample and clean. The food was exceptional albeit the portions were too large and it was served continuously without having to wait too long during both the servings and the different courses. For example, the...

Nice welcome when we checked in. The room was an upgrade, nicely decorated and had plenty of room. You could hear people sat outside drinking as the rooms are around the courtyard but it didn't go on too late. Breakfast was very good as was the restaurant on the one night we ate there. The staff were all very attentive....

We stayed for a last-minute weekend break and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was especially good, though the evening meals also offered a range of pub options. The staff were really lovely! Our room was very small, but this is likely due to the late booking (low availability) and it was not expensive at all. I would suggest making sure you...

Wonderful 4 night stay late September 2016. Excellent hospitality and highly recommended. Local villagers friendly and add the magic to the bar along with a fine selection of canine friends. Accommodation, like the catering is well thought out and the level of customer care is high.

We were staying close to the Poachers Inn in Plush but were not happy with the food so tried The Poachers Inn. The staff were really nice and the menu looked great so we stayed every night for dinner. This turned out to be a great decision as we had great quality food at reasonable prices. The chef must be...

The Inn is about 8 miles from Dorchester following a nice country lane. The pub/Inn certainly impressed on first viewing. The check in was efficient and friendly and the room in the annex at rear was well presented and comfortable, there was sufficient parking at rear and in front. The bar itself was a good traditional english pub and served...

Attended a Golden Wedding Celebration Evening Meal here a few days ago. There were 15 in the party. We were looked after by friendly and very efficient staff. Everyone selected a different starter, main and dessert which was of no trouble for the waiting and kitchen staff. All the meals served at the same time, hot and appetizing. Well done...

We stayed in room 21, others reviews said noisy machinery outside the door - there was - we didn't hear it in the room. Spacious room with sofa, bath and shower. We could pick up free wifi in this room. Good breakfast and evening meal. Friendly helpful staff and reasonable prices. We didn't use the pool but it looked OK....
