The location is fantastic, Son Bou beach is beautiful. The grounds are well kept and clean as are the rooms. Air con was much needed. Good size balcony overlooking the sea. Good selection and variety of food on offer. Friendly staff. Good variety of activities available for those wanting to join in. Plenty of sun beds, although you had 5o check if they were broken or not. Basic accommodation, room was a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. Good sometimes was still frozen or cold. Didn't cater very well for international guests in that terms and conditions were only available in Spanish and some staff’s English was limited. Some drilling and work was being carried out for 3 days. No inflatables are allowed in the pool. Quite a lot of queuing for drinks. Entertainment was quite basic and not always good

Hotel's Favorite
First experience in Menorca It was a trip made by a group of couples, expectations were high, as the hotel recommended it to us by a friend, and it certainly did not disappoint. From the first moment we were afraid to travel because of the current sanitary circumstances, the hotel applies strict controls and you find disinfection points all over the hotel, which gave us more tranquility. The hotel is very well located near the airport, it has some spectacular and luminous rooms where you can see an incredible sunset at the end of the day. The breakfast buffet is very complete and varied, but without a doubt the best thing that this hotel has is the treatment of the personnel from reception to the restaurant team, they advised us unique places to visit in Menorca. We will return to Menorca and it will surely be at Sol Milanos Pinguinos

We have just arrived home from a 7 night all-inclusive stay at the Sol Milanos. Easy check in. A little wait for our rooms to be ready but we were given our wrist bands to get going with the all inclusive! We were on 10th floor and as requested rooms opposite each other with the best of both views. Indoor pool bar was open from 1030am to 11pm AI. Next to the bar was a drinking water machine to top up bottles. There was also a snack bar/station that had food all day from 1030 till 6.30. Serving a variety of food (some was cold) fruit/crisps/pizza/yogurts/burgers/chips/pasta/salad/ cheeses and ham. Pool area was very well managed by the lifeguards. No inflatables or food around the pool area. Clean/tidy and best of all no rush for sunbeds! New sunbeds had started to arrive during our stay. Adjustable back and leg rests! Very comfy! Always a good choice at breakfast lunch and dinner. The dining room.was run like a well oiled machine. Very efficient. Well done to the staff as it was a busy hotel! On check in we were asked what hour slots we'd prefer for each sitting but we rarely stuck to our slots and it was no issue. Back gate leads to the stunning Son Bou beach. No need for beach shoes IMO. Always worth checking near the bins by the lifeguard seat as people leave beach unbrellas that they can't take home. Might save you a few euros! Worth noting to get back I you need your room key to unlock the gate. Animation team were FANTASTIC! My family (husband and 2 sons,18yr, 16yr) all grown up so had no need to use the kids facilities but watching on we were very impressed with how they interacted with children around the pool and the kids clubs. They also did pool activities. Aqua fit, aqua bikes, darts, foam parties, spinning, yoga, volley ball.... this would continue right into the evening (10pm) where we saw the team overseeing the children's park and football area. Superb for families. Would we be back....ABSOLUTELY! It's a 3* hotel in the best location. If you're looking for modern rooms and something more luxurious food wise I'd say book 5* .all things considered this is a very good 3* hotel in a 5* location.

This hotel is amazing!! We are a family of 4 who visited for 10 nights at the beginning of the school holidays and had the most fantastic time. Hotel is in the perfect position so you can spend your days between the brilliant, large and very clean pool or the incredible beach. Sun beds always available no matter what time you head down. We were half board so ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant which was very well run, even at peak times there was no more than a 2 minute wait for a table. Good variety of hot and cold food. There are plenty of local bars and restaurants a short walk away. Especially lovely ones on the beach front serving take away lunches. Bus stop is again a short walk away which takes you into Mahon. The Jet2 rep was lovely and always did a lap around the pool so you knew she was there. Very knowledgeable about the area and helpful for booking trips or giving you pointers on days out. Lastly, the entertainment team who work tirelessly to ensure you have the best holiday possible, how they can be that cheerful all day every day I’ll never know! Yes the rooms are fairly small, but you’re on holiday on the beautiful island of Menorca…..rooms are just for sleeping in!! And you get a great night sleep because it’s so quiet! No noise at all throughout the night. Overall, a fantastic, clean, well run hotel in a beautiful location.

We went for 7 days and being honest would not go again. Here are the good points beach was lovely but would recommend beach shoes there are rocks in the sea you have to go over. The sea and beach are lovely. Pools, there are 2 pools one is meant to be for activities other for relaxing. In the main pool you can not have inflatable’s or play with balls. You can not eat on your sun bed you have to eat at the tables. Most of the lifeguards were young boys who didn’t care but there was one who stuck with the rules, he was a strict but he treated everyone the same. There is a little sign saying this but you could miss it. We went mid/late July and had no problems getting sun-beds but the pool doesn’t open until 10am and lots of people go to the beach rather than pool. With regards the inflatables some people were buying ones that were 4/5 feet wide so if there were a load the pool would of been overwhelming with inflatables so I for one was glad. I will say that if you try and be cheeky you may get away with little thing. I would say that a family wouldn’t stop playing with their ball so the managers were called. The family backed down but I dread to think what would of happened. Now the bad, hotel could do with updating, there are 2 buildings which are the exact same as each other. The main build had the reception and restaurant in or should I say canteen. The other I would say use to offer the same but it seems they put all the main services into one building. We were in building 2 and it had 5 lifts 2 which were so slow you could be standing there for 5 minutes we were on the 9th floor. One lift didn’t work snd at times could be 15 people waiting. The rooms were basic and very small and I mean small. If more than 2 people then you have to climb beds to move around. There air con was rubbish I could blow harder than the air con pumped air out. Yes they had a fan but I wear hearing aids so couldn’t hear it but other family members said it was a pain. The reception where I thought their staff would pick different languages it seemed most only spoke Spanish and couldn’t understand English to hold a conversation. They all wear masks and have plastic shields around the deck. Even my wife could not understand them and they struggled to understand her. I think this hotel is more setup for Spanish than English. We did have a problem with our room which took 20 mins of trying to explain what it was. Most of the entertainment didn’t engage the English and the time table was always changing. My son and I wanted to play but was never asked and if we asked they just pointed. We went there for one activity but no one else turned up when I asked she just shrugged shoulders so it appeared they were happy to engage the locals but not us. The restaurants or school canteens. The pool eating area opened up at 10ish. It was the same repetitive food which was cold and dangerous. We got burgers which were pink and cold inside, chips cold, other dishes that should be hot were cold and in my opinion very undercooked I could not understand why until I felt the hot trays that should keep the food hot and they were cold so unless you got there when brought out then most likely cold. I did ask the cook but no English spoken I asked for someone to come and see me but again no one did. There salads were brown and not very exciting. I have been to other places where they had different salad dishes but not here. The pool food bar fridge for yogurts seemed warm my yogurt when I opened it was warm and turned more into liquid. The main restaurant is on the first floor of the main building. You have to book time slots so you can not go when you want?? We picked 8.30 but it was a mess, not blaming staff but they could not keep up. They had a group of 30 kids not staying there but came for dinner at the hotel which took up 10 /12 tables. Other big families had 7 tables so no wonder people had to search. Since the staff struggled with English it seemed the locals got served first because they called out and were were left trying to get their attention for drinks. I would say that if you allow it to happen the locals push in front of you because they did not want to wait in-line and didn’t even gesture could they just get that one thing. After the second day I just done want they did . Again a lot of cold food and uncooked in my opinion. The food trays were cold so the food got cold. Going back to the pool the bar had 2 staff and sometimes the line was 30 people. I thought it would of been better to have the included drinks self serving so if you wanted special drinks then you line up. It took one barman 10 mins to make 3 coffees?? I didn’t seen any included ice creams for kids only the ones you had to pay for, that was a first for me. We went with Jet2 and they came or were meant to come every other day for 45 mins we never saw them at the times they said because were going to say something about the food. You had to ring England. We never had a welcome meeting where all the others seem to have. It seems if your Spanish you got it all if not then your buggered. I am sad to say apart from pool, beach and maybe sun beds I can’t say anything positive about this place. It would be better if each building had it own reception and restaurant and if they checked there food which I saw no one do. I am sure someone will get poorly. I can only give this 1 star if any also make sure you have money for safe rental and visitors tax. One family didn’t expect this cost

Dear wab100, Thank you very much for sharing your review of your recent stay via TripAdvisor. All comments about your experience have been taken into account to improve the service we offer to our guests. We would like to inform you that balls and inflatables are not allowed in the pool for safety and comfort reasons for other guests. Also, ice creams are free of charge in the all-inclusive package, except for the top brands, which do have a cost. The tourist tax was approved by the Balearic government six years ago. We also regret the inconvenience that all of the above may have caused you, as well as what you have told us about the cold food and the lack of understanding about the mask and the security panel at reception, which we must continue to use for security reasons. It is a pity that you did not contact us in order to solve the problem with the air conditioning, and also with the activities. We will follow up on your case so that this does not happen again. Again, we deeply regret not having met your expectations, we hope that you will give us the opportunity to give you a better experience. Kind Regards, Guest Experience Department

We spent a week there with our 2 little girls and we had a great time. Everything was great! 2 things I want to mention that we really appreciated: 1. The room was very clean and also the common areas. 2. The mini club. A big shout out to all the staff working there. Wonderful people, super patient and very kind and nice. Personally MArta was my favorite one, very sweet and knowledgeable. We are considering to come back also next year (with baby number 3) with the hope to find the same staff.

Just returned from Son Bou and our first stay at this hotel (have stayed in others in the resort) I'll not gio on about Son Bou itself - if you know the island, it's perhaps the best location for me anyways that you can be in. For the hotel itself, what's the positives? - OK I have plenty - Room - Both Air con and Fan in place - both worked well & great view from your balcony. Service - Can't fault it really - Would like to mention ANA in the dining room (upstairs section) worked so hard every shift and very kind eyes! FOOD - you know what, better than I expected TBH - plenty to choose from and reasonable standard. Fresh Bread is a highlight. DRINK - Mojito's all day if you want (best coctail) but again other drinks in AI were resonable mark. POOLS - good news is no inflatibles or toys which is actually a good think for all - safety included. The beach is minutes away so play with that stuff there. LOCATION - could not be better. Pool towels are also supplied. Drawbacks - ROOM - its tight if you have a 3rd person in the room. Resort Tax - not the fault of the hotel but watch for this extra cost - $3 a day per person (kids dont pay). Bar Service - can be slowed up if lots of people order coffee - perhaos could do with a separate "coffee" queue? Coffee is great by the way. EVENING ENTERTAINMENT - The in house team are excellent - well done to them all - the hried in shows are a bit dated these days - some refresh would be wise. All in all, WELL DONE SOL MILANOS PINGUINOS!! - a great break for us all - Holidays are what you make them - go have fun!

This is my favourite place and I go back each year. The staff are all lovely, from the Reception to the bar and restaurant. The food is hit and miss sometimes the restaurant is to busy and some people lack manners but won't let that spoil my holiday. Yes the rooms are dated but I still love the hotel. And am looking forward to going back next year.

This is a wonderful hotel set in a beautiful location. Extremely clean and very well run in every way. Lovely pools well maintained with activities for all ages around the pool bar. Nightly entertainment won't be to everyone's taste but it's very well received by the majority clearly. Easy access to a glorious beach with boardwalks not only to the beach but to three beach bars. The staff are exemplary, both friendly and helpful. A credit to the hotel. You will have a lovely time at a very well maintained and run hotel in perfect surroundings.
