Spotless rooms, beds are very comfortable, towels changed regularly, maids are very hardworking and cheerful, fabulous grounds, clean pool area, bathroom and shower are very big, plenty of sunbeds, great pool bar, with brilliant staff, very quiet at night, right outside you can book excursions ,plenty of bars and restaurants on the hill, or a short walk to the bottom brings you to a huge choice of restaurants and bars, mini golf or a train ride into zante town, great place for a relaxing holiday
This hotel is fantastic value for money. The staff work very hard to keep the whole area spotless. Breakfast was the best I have ever had, in 50+ visits to the Greek Islands. We were offered "proper" bacon as opposed to the processed stuff offered elsewhere. The traditional Greek dish varied over the week; cream pie, spanokrypta, walnut pie, all cooked to perfection. Croissants were light and flaky, the pastries were very good. All in all a great variety to satisfy anyone with reasonable needs. The rooms were modern, with a spacious bathroom/wet room, and I noticed that they could accommodate a wheelchair with ease. The complex has been designed with customers with limited mobility in mind, in my experience a rarity in the islands! So well done to all; the staff were lovely and friendly. A mention too, for the medical centre, by the hotel entrance. One of my friends was unwell during our stay, and she was most impressed by the staff and by her treatment there and at the hospital. I will be returning to the Papillion, and highly recommend that other folks do likewise!…
Spotlessly clean, extremely safe, wonderful staff. Abundant breakfast buffet choice. .Nice pool. Lots of sun beds. Small local tourist tax and you pay extra for safe and aircon. I borrowed a hairdryer from reception. Really good flat access and lifts which would suit anyone with mobility issues.
We have stayed at the Papillon on 4 occasions. I do not get EPPEEBLES review..this hotel is spotless and the cleaning staff, especially Anna, cannot do enough for guests. The towel art every morning is a nice touch too. Staff work extremely hard and always have a smile on their faces. Breakfast is continental and continually topped up through the morning. The location is very central but surprisingly quiet. Plenty of sunbeds, a book swap area (well used by me) and lovely weather made sure we return home relaxed and ready to plan our return trip. They say you get what you pay for..at the Papillon you definitely get a lot more .Thank you to everyone for making our stay as special as always. Elaine and Alan , Scotland
Just returned from our 4th visit to this fantastic hotel.. Its in a great location very easy walking distance to everything. Clean. Great staff. Dennis at the pool bar is a gentleman.so sweet and polite. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day., the staff do a great job. We can't wait to return. Thanks to everyone. Nick.. You have a great hotel
The hotel is honestly in an amazing location, and it’s perfect if you are just in an out like we were. It’s a 2 star hotel UK/ 3 star hotel Greece. We were happy enough for a small cheap trip this was fine. The breakfast is fine, low quality, you don’t get proper orange juice, there is fatty bacon, scrambled eggs some plain yogurt, eggs and a few other bits, but it is repetitive but again fine for a few mornings. My only concern with this hotel is they only change your towels every 3 days!!! I find that disgusting, you can pay extra to have new ones everyday but I have never stayed anywhere where you have to pay extra for a fresh towel. They also “forget” to change your towels and linen on day 3, we had to ask. If you put your towels on the floor the maid picks them up and leaves them for you to use again. For me that’s appalling. The maids don’t do an amazing job of cleaning either, they empty the bins that’s about it. Be warned there is NO aircon or safety box unless again you pay extra… so really it isn’t a budget hotel if you start to add all of this on you would be better staying in 3/4 star and pay the extra in the total cost. So in summary, great location, modern enough, VERY VERY basic, and just not clean enough.…
The hotel is the best choice anyone can make in Argasi Zakinthos. The reception is helpful, the staff very friendly. Clean with tasty breakfast and nice rooms. I am very satisfied and when I visit again Zakinthos I will choose Papillon again. 10/10 would recommend
We stayed at papillon for our 2 week holiday. It is perfectly located, our room was lovely, large enough for us and our son on a camp type bed, he is 15 and tall but managed well. The rooms are cleaned daily with linen and towel changes every couple of days. The cleaners work really hard to keep the whole of the hotel clean, it’s a real credit to their hard work. We didn’t really use the pool as we prefer to use beach bars, but the pool is large and clean, didn’t seem to be any towel wars! The breakfast was lovely, buffet style but had lots of choice every day. Cannot fault the place and we would definitely return 😃
Have been to this hotel many years ago, just before they made over the rooms and the reception. The rooms were tastefully done and modern, and the maids did a fantastic job keeping them clean. They now have a lift up to the top floor. The breakfast was really good, every day you had scrambled or fired egg, Beans, Mushrooms, Brown and White Bread that you could toast if you wanted, Yogurt, Fruit, Boiled Egg, Cereal, Coffee/Tea, Juice, Water, and then either Greek Smoked Bacon, small smokey sausages and this was accompanied with random things like warm Apple Pie, Cheese Pie, Omlette, Chocolate mousse cake, and other random bits, all of which were tasty. Dennis is a lovely lad and works extremely hard at breakfast and then in the pool bar til later afternoon. I wanted to give it 5 stars but the thing that now lets this hotel down is the pool. There are different levels in the pool, there's a wide slopped bit at the shallow end that is in shallow water and most people use it to get in and out, it's slippy and the drop into the pool is quite steep. Then you have a small wall on each side of the fountain and if you climb over this to get into the deeper side you have to be careful as there is a sharp edge on another small step, which my son cut the bottom of his toes on, there are no signs telling you its there and to be careful, I think its to cover the pipe work for the fountain but the step is extremely narrow one end and about 8 inches deep the other. We were told the pool is cleaned every night but we saw the same things, like a hair bobble, a ring, and some other bits at the bottom of the water in the deep side, which is supposed to be 3 metres deep but is more like 5, every day we were there. The shallow end had sand in most of the corners that was there day in day out. The mosaic tiles were falling off exposing the grout which came off in the water. The grout was balck in areas and there was a brown scum line along some of the walls along the water line. The pavement around the shower area had what looked like blood dripped on it and this again was there all week. The hotel is ideally located for the Tavernas, Bars, and Supermarkets. Would definitely recommend this hotel as it's excellent value for money and the staff are lovely.…
Excellent location, super quick check in, friendly staff. We arrived and were checked in super quick. We were given room 212, beautiful rooms and bathrooms my only concern is not enough storage in studio room. Included breakfast was good, not to my childrens liking so we ate out at the snack academy. Pool area clean and tidy, plenty sunbeds. Could do with more bins. One of the best places we have stayed in argassi. Denis at bar worked all day and never stopped, give him a tip for a new car.
