First thing is the staff who work their butts off Friendly helpful but not Enough of them Food is average Sadly no where near as good as it should be only the buffet open for breakfast, lunch and dinner It’s reasonable busy but the pool bar, snack bar and coffee shop are still closed Would have helped if they tell you when you book Our suite is great but set up the wrong way. The bed is on the noisy road side while the lounge is on the quiet pool side If your not in the main block it’s 3 flights of stairs, around 60 each time you go to the pool, bar, restaurants as there are no lifts in the other blocks Plenty of sun beds available Cocktails need some work, have had better almost everywhere else Some furniture in the room and around the hotel is looking tired Summing it up great staff But there are better H10 hotels to stay in

Hotel's Favorite
This was our third stay at this hotel, as normal we payed the extra for the all inclusive package which was for the drinks more than the lunch buffet . We also upgraded our room to one of the new suites which was well worth the money. Check in was the normal slow ish process , we have come to expect this now, so if there is a big queue you can pop down to the bar if its open to wait a bit. The upgraded rooms are great , usb ports and more plug sockets also a fridge and a coffee maker. The food is ok , sometimes there is a lot of choice and others not so much,. I guess they have to account for quite a few nationalities tastes, maybe could be a little hotter but too. The live cooking station is always good to visit for an omelette in the morning and usually a meat joint or fish in the evening . The paella and bizarrely a chicken curry was our favourites . The quality was ok nothing to shout about , just don't go expecting Michelin star restaurant standard and you will be fine. The bars were always quite quick service even at busy times during the night. The staff work so hard here and were in the most part very friendly especially when we tried to speak Spanish to them. So a big thank you to Eyder , Nieves and Davinia who were all great , one tall rather grumpy bar man not so great but you cant have everything !! The entertainment at night is so so so so much better than it used to be ( it used to be music videos) but still could do with improvement, there were a few great acts like the traditional Canary dancers and a great rock and roll group called Tihuya Cats The hotel is a couple of minutes walk away from a beach and around 40 mins to an hour (depending on speed and fitness) away from the main town. You can get the bus just across from the hotel if you don't fancy the walk. There is also a tiny coastal walk in front of the hotel which is nice for after dinner walks

We normally go to the west coast of La Palma in Puerto Naos as the weather is so much better on that side of the island, but of course that is currently not possible due to the earth tremors/volcano. So we decided to try the H10. We booked a deluxe suite , which was very comfortable, but clients should know such rooms are a long walk from the reception, and there is NO lift access. Also they are in some sort of annexe. The front door to this was permanently locked, which meant an even longer walk from the car park. This is completely unnecessary, and the excuse at reception of 'covid rules ' is ludicrous. Food is average for a 4* hotel. Queues for the fresh grilled meat/fish are very long at popular times . The same applies to breakfast eggs. Ridiculously time consuming routine for those. Also the coffee and fruit juices at breakfast are dreadful. But some of the cold dishes salads etc are very tasty. Wine is reasonably priced. Be warned that the interior part of the dining room can get uncomfortably hot. There seems to be no functioning aircon. The hotel seemed quite well occupied, so the decision to close the lobby bar and pool bar completely is mystifying . The main bar seems only to open at about 5pm . But there are plenty of good bars and restaurants within 5 m walk . There is currently some very noisy renovation work going on round the lower part of the hotel. This starts at 8am and finishes 4pm on every day except weekends. Very disappointed that H10 do not think to mention this on the website as the noise is VERY intrusive round the pool. All in all this could and should be an excellent hotel, but it's let down with sloppy decisions made by management, to suit the management rather than the customer. When the west part of the island is fully reopened, we will be back there in a heartbeat.

Upon arrival at the hotel we were overcharged, this was rectified after multiple trips to the reception, there was a kettle missing from the room, this was pre arranged before arrival, we had to go chasing around for cups and spoons as well as pool towels as we were never offered these at check in. There was a constant squealing noise coming from the air conditioning which we never used as it wasn't needed. The advertised bars were closed, the lobby bar was never open, the pool bar where you are supposed to get snacks was permanently closed. Paid for all inclusive and this wasn't provided comprehensively. The restaurant rules were flouted, people wearing swimshorts and thong bikini bottoms during lunchtime. And sportswear and gym clothing worn at evening meal, nothing said to these people, yet the website and hotel app state that evening meal must be smart dress. People who were half board were using the restaurant both on lunch and evening meals as their room numbers were never checked, the way to bypass this is to not order drinks, which the customers knew. The hotel staff smirked when asked about what bars were open and always directed to the entertainment bar that opens at 4 or there abouts. The food is only hot if you are at the restaurant for opening, and if there is a wedding or communion on, be prepared for the worst food of the entire stay, as the chefs are more focussed on ensuring the parties get better food than guests which makes you feel unappreciated.

Positives: Excellent location. *THE ATRIUM!* Very clean. Friendly and attentive staff. Spacious lobby areas with comfortable seating. Efficient and plentiful (but small) lifts. Nice swimming pools (though they are a bit on the small side). Wide selection of food in the buffet restaurant (though see below). Many of the rooms appear to have at least a partial sea view (ours was excellent) and balcony. Free Wi-Fi / Internet. Negatives: Food is not hot enough. No fresh coffee or fresh juice served at breakfast (self-service machines). No tea/coffee-making facilities in room. Room safe must be rented by the day. Cigarette smoke wafting into the public areas near the bar (making us avoid it, which was a shame). Lack of other facilities (shoe shine, trouser press, iron, etc,) which although we don't use also detracts from its official rating. For us - not being foodies and anyway what does one expect in a ' package tourist' hotel? - the negatives above did not detract from a very enjoyable stay. I would love to have given this a 'Very Good' rating but it falls just short but definitely above 'Average' for me. 3.5

We stayed here for 3 nights and expectations were high being an H10 4 star hotel. The location is perfectly nestled between the airport and Santa Cruz. The room was clean but basic and I was surprised to not have tea/coffee making facility. The bed for me was horrendous. I did not sleep well any night as the bed was so hard and uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet was ok, what you would expect from a buffet with plenty of choice. However on our last morning the scrambled eggs were undercooked and almost liquid. I ditched this and headed to the grill for a fried egg. The cook was serving eggs half cooked and even when I asked for mine to be flipped it was still half raw when I got back to the table. Overall a very disappointing stay and I definitely would not return

We stayed there for a brief holiday to go and see the volcanic eruption of cumbre vieja. Unfortunately, there were only few guests as visitors were mostly avoiding the island due to the negative press coverage of the volcanic eruption and the periodic closures of the airport due to the lava ashes in the sky over the airport. We stayed in a beautifully renovated ocean front suite which was quite nice and clean, with comfortable AC and a beautiful view of the coast. The beach is only a short 5 minute walk away from the resort. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to please guests. The food was ok, only I wish they would have put heaters or sternos under the chafing dishes to keep the food warm. Cocktails at the bar were well done and the staff very engaging. We would return.

The staff at this hotel are its main asset, by a long way. We found everyone to be helpful and friendly. Reception came up with the kettle I'd requested (I can't get out of bed without at least a couple of cups of tea, lol) and the bar staff were happy to oblige us with a request we had (I shan't say what in case they were breaking the rules!). They were also extremely hard-working as they were all mucking in to clear up the cinders from the volcano that we could see smoking over the top of the ridge. That really was a monumental task and all credit to them for keeping at least walkways open. But the room fell a long way short of satisfactory. Room 403 was a nice size and had a good-sized balcony with full sea and pool view. It had great potential. However, almost half the floor tiles were loose and clunking -- I pity the people in the room below ours. The washbasin was cracked and the bathroom door didn't close properly. The safe was tiny and needed you to carry a heavy key around with you, and yet they still expected you to pay for it. I expected a laptop-sized safe with code security, and for free. Our first meal in the hotel was breakfast (we were staying B&B). We were literally staggered by the choice -- bigger than anywhere else we can remember, and we travel a lot. However, the croissant was a joke, the OJ was foul and the cooked breakfast was very poor and stone cold (crusty scrambled egg for anyone?). The fresh melon was nice and so was the Cava we helped ourselves to as it was my birthday. The only other meal we ate there was dinner. It was very much geared to lovers of pizza, pasta and rice who didn't care too much about quality. A courgette gratin (cold) was the one and only veg dish. The fish looked horribly dried-up. However, the meatballs weren't too bad although cold, according to my husband. I nearly passed on the slightly bloody roast as it was labelled as pork, but fortunately the staff member confirmed it was actually beef -- and it was quite good, although it too was cold. They had one of our favourite Ribera wines on offer, so that saved the day somewhat. The coffee dispenser was turned off and we were told to go to the bar instead. They served us with one of the worst "espresso" coffees I've ever tasted. It certainly hadn't come out of an espresso machine. All in all, although the food was cheap, it wasn't a happy experience. I'd rather pay a bit more and have an enjoyable meal. As everything we tasted was cold, I suspect the heating systems under the food weren't actually working.

La Palma is an amazing place and this h10 is located perfectly for exploring the island. a small beach is just a short walk away...Stony in places but great for a swim. Santa cruz is just 7-10 euro in a taxi with great shops and cafes. The hotel staff were great! from checking in to any requests we had! We got a free upgrade to a suite which was absolutely fantastic 👌. the half board fare was about standard for this type of hotel but we always found something to eat at breakfast and dinner. the pools and pool area were great, clean and tidy. life guard was about but not really needed as this hotel is extremely chill and calm place. lots of family's and couples relaxing. This hotel is mostly spanish guests which we loved ! La Palma is a real gem of a place. I actually felt a bit guilty being on the island and seeing a part of spain largely unspoilt by tourism . not a discotheque or Irish bar in sight! La Palma is a place to explore! the towns and villages with their unique Palmerian architecture and culture....I would reccomend it to anyone with even a slight spirit of adventure!

This was my second H10 hotel. I should have realised from the first one (Puerto de la Cruz) that this chain is dedicated solely to package holidaymakers who are unlikely to complain. If you're a paying guest, however, with experience of other hotels, it's not so good. Positives: 1. Price is right - it is relatively cheap for what it is 2. Few hotels exist and fewer are open at the moment in or near SC La Palma 3. Suites (costing little more than ordinary rooms) have a lot of space, even if the layout is a bit strange Negatives: 1. Could end up in a room like ours with a long walk and lots of stairs to reception - no idea why they don't seem to be using the main hotel block 2. Staff are at best offhand. They seem hassled and uninterested; probably paid the minimum. Not enough reception staff even for an almost-dead hotel. 3. Avoid dinner - not worth paying for. Breakfast is just about OK 4. Inconsistent poorly thought through COVID secure rules for the restaurant 5. Extra charges for room safe, bottled water only provided on day one If you're happy with something big and basic and don't care about the negatives above, it's OK. Just don't expect four stars, except on the sign above the door.
