Our stay in Wuzhen water town was such a special experience! We had a great "family room" which was actually two bedrooms, 3 beds and a bathroom. It was our kids favorite hotel of the trip! The breakfast was expansive and the location was perfect. they "ferry" your luggage from the front desk to your guest house, and ferry it back on boats, so you don't need to carry it through the town. This is a MUST SEE place and staying in the water town just makes it so much more special!
Wuzhen is supposedly to be a living scenic town. Entry is by admission ticket and the entire place is quite organised. The guest house is a quaint restored hotel and quite comfortable as a 2 to 3 stars standard. The amenities are decent too. And you get to eat breakfast in a cosy communal dining room. Food is simple fare so dun expect much.
My wife and I recently stayed 2 nights in a Guesthouse in the ancient water town of Wuzhen. This was a very unique experience. You check-in at the visitor center and then take a tram to your room as it is some distance from the visitor center. They bring the suitcases to your room. You need to pay to enter the scenic area, have your photo taken and show your passport. The room was a good size, 2 beds, desk, TV, in room tea and hot water pot, no coffee, 2 chairs, hardwood floor, good bath but no face wash cloths. There are no racks for suitcases so just put them on the floor. The TV actually got CNN, BBC, etc. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a nice view of the river. It was a little noisy with people walking by and boats passing. You put in your order for breakfast by the previous evening. The breakfast is cooked by the Guest House Manager and was very good, you can have such things as eggs, won ton soup, bread, congee, coffee, etc. You need a full day to experience both the West and East scenic areas so you should stay 2 nights, also to enjoy the lights in the evening. Overall it was really a very good and memorable experience.…
I loved the Water Town. The way they preserved the history in the entire town was amazing. The whole town was a total photo-op! My cousin took pictures from day to night. From tourists to professional photographers- everyone was taking pictures. The guest house we stayed in had a view of the river. It was a beautiful sight. The room was completely modern from the inside. You would not expect it looking from the outside appearance. All the usual amenities expected from a budget hotel is there - except for a refrigerator.
Location is wonderful,it has water view,I could see boats go by,,breakfast and dinner were good,( Dinner extra ) ,room is spacious and clean, but bathroom has no door ,bath tub is a barrel, wood floor is creaky,it made a lot of noises when walking on it ,otherwise ,it was a happy stay.Wuzhen is a beautiful town, highly recommended
