My husband, mother in law and myself went for Sunday lunch. There was beef , pork, gammon and turkey on the menu. The veg was cooked to perfection and the roast beef melted in the mouth. The chef Ian had started three weeks prior and this pub is a gem. £5.00 for Sunday carvery is a steal as I don't... More

3 hand pull pumps off, Pedigree off, Coors off, no Becks, and no milk for the coffee machine??? a good contender for the PUB WITH NO BEER 2016. This surely shows a very poor managerial qualities and being front of house and mainstream sales gives a very bad impression of possible underlying problems with this pub/hotel

I recently visited hawthorns, after it had undergone a refurbishment. The food there has always been inconsistent in quality, but thought I'd give it a shot under new management. They've clearly spent a lot of money revamping the tired old pub, into a fairly modern sports bar. Clearly they spent all the money on the exterior and interior decorating. To... More

The food and service were excellent. Drinks were good, reasonably priced. The family atmosphere was good and pictures of the town many years ago decorated the walls and added much interest. The value for money was incredible as far as I'm concerned.

Four of us went for a meal on Saturday night and it was the best meal we have had in a long time. The food was cooked to order with home made chips, and we will go back soon. The staff were pleasant and there was live entertainment on. There was plenty of choice on the menu and I am hoping... More

Went the first time on saturday may 18th since it changed hands. I have to say the home made food choice and quality is excellent , none of this plastic food stuff which you normally get in other places, and for the price of 2 for £10 this is fantastic. Drink are prices very reasonable too. Will eat there again.

We thought since The Hawthorns had recently changed hands it had perhaps improved the quality of the food - lets face it it couldn't get much worse. Many years ago when there were fewer carveries about it was quite good and served a carvery every day of the week. We used to go most Fridays until it changed hands. Today... More

I took my wife and mum to The Hawthorns for dinner today(Friday 15th Feb) and was really impressed. We opted for the 2 course meal for only £6.95..For starters my wife and mum both had the Carrot & Colander Soup which they really enjoyed with the fresh bread..I had Garlic Mushrooms on a nice sliced of fresh coked bread.
