Detailed Reviews
Experience of a lifetime, that's the explanation of this place. We stayed there for 4 nights (10th - 14th June, 2022) and I must say it was my good luck that I came across this place on the net.
The moment we reached here, I knew this was the place. It was a tiring 7 hours journey from Bagdogra but the mere sight of this place covered in mist and cloud when we reach there around 5 PM made all our tiredness vanish.
We were welcomed by Tiger, their pet, which made my 3 years daughter reach cloud nine. We stayed in the room Bamboo which had a small stream adjacent to it. The view from the room was awesome, it rained all the 4 night we were there and imagine having your drink in the balcony at the backdrop of an awesome view, rain and soothing sound of the stream.
Sooraj, the caretaker was extremely good and helpful and made our stay awesome. Not to mention, Arjun, and I must say that I have never seen a better service than what this gentleman offered us. Imagine telling us that he will serve us the food howsoever late in the night so that we can relax and have fun. He always carried that infectious smile which made us feel at home. My daughter got some friends there in the form of little Anna (Arjun's 7 year old daughter), Tiger and Kaali (two awesome dogs), Billi and her 3 small kittens which made her so exited that she never bothered us while we were enjoying our drinks in the drawing room. And the lovely Tibetan ambient music that they played in the evening made that place even more serene and soothing. Sooraj helped us with a cab driver too throughout the trip which was really helpful. Taxis in Sikkim are veryyyy expensive but didn't mind since it's a tourist place.
MG Marg was awesome, Changu lake was decent but the drive to that place was quite an experience. If you are going to MG Marg , don't forget to go to Tashi View Delek restaurant for an awesome experience of having your beer at the backdrop of an enchanting view.
Overall an awesome trip we had. Love to the entire staff of Bamboo Retreat. If you have kids and if you want to stay in a serene place away from the chaos of city life, nothing beats this place. And best of luck to Arjun for an awesome service. May God fulfill all your dreams.

The display of local and South East Asian handicrafts, beautiful paintings, Buddhist iconography makes the Bamboo Retreat Hotel seem like an Art Museum. There's a library with a wide range of books from spirituality to natural farming. Also, my favourite place is the Buddhist prayer/meditation room on the top floor. It almost feels like we're in a Gompa.
From a design point of view, the architecture is brilliant and I couldn't appreciate more the detailing that would have gone into making each bedroom as each one has a unique concept and differs from the others.
Coming out of the hotel, we can see a huge garden meticulously designed using concepts of Permaculture. Many local species of plants could be seen. Some vegetables and herbs for kitchen use are also grown here. Also, the staff takes care of couple of street dogs and cats. Really cute ones. And the hotel has two rabbits of their own in an enclosure and feeding them would become one of my favorite activity in the day. Just adjacent to the hotel, there's a small forest. Even though it belongs to the neighbours, they are quite friendly and allow us to spend time in their forest.
The staff consists of both locals and non locals which makes up for a diverse experience. They did organise a walking tour to the nearby village and monastery. It was a very serene experience.

I stayed for 2 nights with my Group of 13 foreign tourists from the UK, Aus and Canada. Enthralling Memories. Staff is incredibly amicable, especially Sunita ji - ever ready with smiling persona, very helpful. A Caring, Charming Soul, indeed an Asset. Great property!! Cute Rabbits!! Food menu is limited though, and Thali options on the higher side of costs. Overall, it was a memorable sojourn. Thanks. Chetan Shanker Jha, Group Leader - India & Nepal.

I am so happy and satisfied with my stay here at Bamboo Resort: I came here with a friend and our purpose was to find a tranquil place in nature, and we found what we were looking for! The resort is tidy and clean, the room and the toilet were big and with a touch of local style; as well there is a small river close by: beautiful to hear the constant sound of the water before going to sleep and when waking up!
There are many hikes and walks to do in nature, and the big garden around the house is a beautiful place to chill.
The meditation room at the top floor is the cherry on the cake.
The staff was not only helpful, but I really enjoyed their presence and kindness :)
I'll come back again for sure

I love this place! Sunita and staff are very attentive, I think they can read our minds! Everytime I thought of something I wanted they were right there already providing it. The place is stunning by itself but what sets it apart is the very warm and personal attention. I’ll be back!

Bamboo Retreat Hotel is an amazing place to stay, leaving guests with a very memorable experience.
The hotel is one of the cleanest, most well kept that I have witnessed since coming to India. The interior is nicely decorated and spacious, with many comfortable seating areas and balconies to take in the precious view. There is even a 'Gompa', a shrine room filled with Buddhist objects and artwork, a perfect place for meditation.
The grounds of the hotel contain many verandas for reclining, pathways to walk around a vibrant organic garden, and even a small stream, which can be heard from the hotel at night, a great way to be lulled to sleep.
The highlight for me, besides the lovely accommodation and friendly staff, had to be the awe-inspiring view. Gangtok and its surrounding hills are just across a deep river valley, seeming so close but yet so far away. At night, its lights glow, giving one a feeling of watching a bustling metropolis from the comfortable silence of nature.

The most exhilarating, zen moment place to live/stay. The staff and the manager are so much helpful and above all treat you like own family. The dishes that get cooked are out of place as they pick ingredients from their own property garden. The whole place is on a steep hill so get your trekking shoes. I came for 1 night and ended up staying for a week. I shall repeat a million times again as there is so much to explore just in this property....

The Bamboo Resort is one of the best places to stay in Sikkim. It’s far from the maddening crowds, so serene and peaceful.
Sunita and all the staff at the resort are extremely friendly and accommodating.
I would call this beautiful resort, “ God’s Country.”
