We were a family of 3 who stayed at the flex house during a weekend in Oct 2021. I should say that we had a very satisfying experience at the Dune. Rooms: Rooms are constructed with a great artistic touch with mild lighting and natural ventilation. I kept wondering to myself on the sense of taste the architects should have had to come up with such a concept based accommodation. I liked every bit of the room interiors from the washroom mirror to the long benches to the comfortable wooden chairs. A normal wooden chair was so comfortable due to the slight curvature on the shoulder & seat areas with extended arm rests. The bathroom was very clean & dry and the shower had enough pressure and temperature to get you that divine experience. :-) Food: We ordered lunch & dinner to our room and the food tasted yummy and may be its organic as well as they claim. The taste & freshness was good and I was impressed with their attention to details. They wrap every dish and provide good accompaniments like raita, cheese, pappad, pickle, etc. depending on the mains that we order. Water refill was unlimited and the house keeping guys kept bringing us water 24*7. Their chicken dum briyani, organic curd rice, phulka, pepper chicken gravy were some of the dishes which was out of the world :-) The restaurant during the evening looks so beautiful with candle lights and if you travel as a couple you should enjoy dining in the restaurant for one of the dinner sessions. The morning breakfast was a let down though with average dishes and way too crowded. Staff: The house keeping and restaurant guys were quick and prompt to all our needs. The reception guys could be more warm and cordial and explain about the property a bit in detail and collect feedback during checkout. Beach access and pool access was available and we did use the beach extensively for our long walks. Overall the property had a different theme and concept compared to the rest of the resorts around that place and they managed to keep up the standards. The one thing that irked me was that they were no covid checks at the entry, not even the basic temperature check and you don't see much of the mask culture with the staff nor residents. We could spot sanitizer only at the dine in area. May be that safety measure could be stepped up. Overall a breath taking stay experience with good staff and great food :-)

We were 3 women with a small puppy. Our stay experience with the resort was very unsatisfactory and disappointing. I had a stray dog standing outside my cottage My puppy was traumatized. TheA/c was not working. The drainage was clogged after bath. We were waiting for the transport vehicle for more than 40 minutes for check out. The rooms were very old and unkept. The transport vehicle was almost falling apart. The management really needs to work hard to bring the resort as per the photos they post.

It’s got a kind of a retro feel. If you like to pay 4 star prices and stay at a simple place without any luxuries. What railed me, two instances. A) The pool has been architected with nice steps and drops to almost 8 feet. The shallow 4 ft end is at the far end with no way to get there. B) breakfast service - we are swatting flies and chasing crows, when a polite person asks us what what we need. We requested coffee, he walked to the buffet station where the coffee and mugs were and spoke to someone and came back and advised us. “Sorry sir, coffee is self service” Yes, I’ll be returning to this property every time I go to Pondy to meet the person who runs the breakfast service.

Pro: very large spacious rooms. Cons: 1. Extremely untrained, mis managed staff. 2. Huge property but no way for access to disabled people or people with walking problem. There are no in property transit mechanism. 3. They charge 5 star money, but even basic amenities in room are missing. No in room coffee/tea. Drinking water was tap water not packaged, no bathtub, showers barely had water pressure, like it was barely dripping. Soap and shampoo refills were done in house in uncapped bottles, which seemed dirty. Had to ask for dental kit specifically. 4. Restaurant took almost 3 hours to give lunch while we were sitting in , not in room. I mean our people had to literally go themselves to check what was the delay. 5. Cook was using same utensil to cook veg and non veg dish. Huge deal breaker for pure vegetarians. 6. Serving staff did not know which dish they had brought in, they served non-veg item to our veg guests. 7. Portion of food on plate is extremely small, as compared to price they charge. 8. Unkept private beach, it was dirty, not like a private property. 9. Same category rooms had varied designs, e.g. we had 6 courtyard rooms, and each had a different bathroom design, 2 of them being so small, that you could barely stand. 10. View from the bedroom window of courtyard rooms, is almost like a dump yard, with all the plastic waste scattered and no view at all. 11. Resort approach from road has no indication to turn, not only you miss, even Google map takes you via wrong directions so beware. Stayed in january 2021
