Lovely local pub in a stunning location offering excellent value for money. Great room, facilities, cleansiness, quality food and very kind and attentive staff. Really enjoyed meeting and chatting to the locals. can't wait for my next trip.

My wife and I called into the raven for a drink on a warm saturday afternoon, we went to the bar to order some drinks only to be greeted by a very rude and unfriendly elderly bar maid...no please no thank you...such a shame as little rural pubs need to offer a warm friendly welcome, sadly the the Raven does... Thank you for your review but it's left us a little puzzled as to whom you might be referring. As you can see from the other reviews on TA we have earned a reputation for the friendliness of our welcome so we're perplexed. I'll contact you directly to see if I can work out what happened here but I don't... More

Our friends who where up from Devon and staying at the Raven rooms, had complemented on how good the food was in the restaurant, so it was decided after a little tour around Ruthin, we made our way to the Raven, food was ordered and I have to say I was not expecting the high standard of food to come... We just moved to the village took my parents and sons ages 2 and 4 for a few hours, it certainly was the best decision we've made on a bank holiday! The locals made us feel really welcome and the atmosphere was superb! We even made some new friends. My parents will definitely be staying here when they visit again... More

We have never been made to feel so welcome in any establishment in our lifetime. This community pub is supported by its inhabitants with such enthusiasm, Pride and affection you can't help but feel it's presence. Food excellent, prices great, staff and mainly volunteers I might add - All fantastic with special thanx to Jim and Jan. Only one suggestion... More

You're making us blush with your praise. Glad you could see what the hard work put in by the community has achieved. We'll mention to Elaine the shop manager about sandwiches to supplement the delicious pies, sausage rolls and cakes the community shop has on sale. More

We have recently become familiar with this area and we knew of this pub due to its feature in a to series about community pubs. We had a Sunday roast at and drinks and pud and it was absolutely delicious. It had a real authentic feel of a true home cooked meal. Roast local lamb and all fresh well cooked... More

Visited Raven Inn with friends and family this weekend for a friend/family get together. We have a wonderful time - bedrooms were comfortable and it was great having self catering facilities. Much preferred this to having to get up for breakfast. The Raven is a community run inn which greatly added to the friendly approach by all staff who are... More

Our room above the pub function room had a comfy bed, lounge area and kitchen facilities. The pub is in a lovely village and is run as a cooperative by the villagers. We loved this and decided to eat in the pub each night as everyone was so friendly. Would recommend the Raven Inn for anyone who likes good pub... More

My wife and I had an overnight stay on Friday 5/2. The room was clean and warm with lovely views to the church. A minor criticism would be the size of the tv. My eyes are not what they used to be. I had the fish and chips, my wife had the seafood risotto, both were very good. I have... More

Thank you for your feedback and we're pleased you found the accommodation pleasant and to your liking. We'll take on board the TV size when next we refurbish the rooms. Friday night fish dishes are popular but other options are available too. The Snowdonia ale is a favourite with our regulars also. Hope to see you again. More

We stopped at this place by chance, and were pleasantly surprised. We are both vegetarian and usually struggle but were able to get a very nice Sunday roast dinner. We had but roast, vege gravy, all sorts or fresh veg and creamed leeks as well. Lovely and we highly recommend this place.
