Welcome Our hotel welcomes guests with and without disabilities. We offer them the chance to enjoy their holidays in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The Hotel The hotel is located in the old fishing village of Los Cristianos, in the south-western corner of Tenerife, and offers a general concept that is completely barrier-free. All the buildings are built in Spanish style, staggered over two floors and equipped with their own lift. The few areas with stairway access are equipped with ramps to ensure people with disabilities can move around barrier-free. Located around 400 m from the sea promenade that is approx. 8 km in length, the Mar y Sol was built on a slight elevation and has an atrium-shaped layout with a pleasant pool area in the centre. We offer: • A privately-run hotel • Spring-like temperatures with optimal holiday weather all year round • A completely wheelchair-accessible hotel. All rooms include a barrier-free shower and most bathrooms are equipped with a raised toilet and grips • WiFi access throughout the complex and in all rooms • Two large pools with hoist (maximum weight 110kg), one heated all year round (approx. 32°C) • Accessible sports hall (530 m²) • 24 hours emergency service • Nursing aids can be booked for time-slots • Appliances for hire (electric beds, hoists, air-mattresses, electric wheelchairs, etc.) • Modern therapy centre with a variety of individually-tailored holistic and traditional treatments • Wheelchair accessible transfer • Adapted care hire for drivers with disabilities • Mini bus hire with elevator platform to transport wheelchair users • Dialysis treatments in a nearby hospital

We went to this hotel with my work for our client who has cerebral palsy. He has a wheelchair and this hotel was perfect for him. Lovely spacious rooms with a large shower room. A lovely warm pool with jets for massage. An additional pool which is much deeper and colder. The food was plentiful for breakfast and dinner. The staff were very friendly. A special thanks to Ruben. A Very clean hotel. Will definitely stay again

One of the worst hotels i've ever stayed in, and i've seen lot of hotels all around the world. Temperature inside room measured at 35 celcius. Hardly got any sleep in this heat in their terrible bed. Sheets were soaking wet after every sweaty night, but still they didn't change them once. After 4 nights i changed hotel, even though it was paid for. Also rooms in poor condition and crawling with ants. Breakfast served only after 8...

We come to this hotel every year for 10 years and always remain delighted with the service: everything is done with care and love for the guests of the hotel. Separately, I would like to mention the hotel’s restaurant and everyone involved in the work of the restaurant:despite on whether it is breakfast or dinner,a huge selection of delicious buffe dishes are served every morning and evening , where everyone will definitely find something to their taste from meat to fish, or vegetarian dishes included a variety of fruits and desserts .Breakfast is something you also don't want to miss .Everything is very tasty and fresh! The price is quite low, if you look at what an amazing delicious food is included in the hotel stay :)Many thanks to the staff, and we will definitely come back next year again!:)))

I stayed in building 4, the oldest part of the hotel, in a studio flat. There was a large cooker with four cooking plates and an oven but apart from an electric kettle, 2 cups and saucers, a can opener and a cork screw there wasn't any equipment. The sofa bed was quite short, I guess it was less than 2 metres long. There was no hair dryer in the room, even though it is mentioned on the hotel's own homepage that a hair dryer is a part of the equipment. One can borrow one from the reception for a deposit of 30 €. The smoking restrictions at the hotel are not as strict as mentioned, I saw several people smoking by the pool away from the designated smoking areas, No staff commented on this. There were more guests at the hotel with small dogs! Strange when the hotel is recommended to people with astma! I liked the breakfast and supper buffets but notice that NO drinks are included at supper! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Mar Y Sol is a very scarce resource : a hotel which is designed and adapted specially for the needs of wheelchair users, others with disabilities and their families. Some hotels claim to be wheelchair accessible but usually all that means is that a handful of rooms have wide doors or bathroom handrails. Mar Y Sol has adapted rooms throughout, ramps, pool hoists, shower chairs and other equipment to cater for disabled needs including a heated pool and a lifeguard on hand to support them. The food is varied and of good quality too. The hotel is not new and is only classed as a 3 star. This is possibly because it lacks air conditioning in the apartments and studios although plug in fans are available on request. The town of Los Cristianos is not particularly attractive. The seafront is busy and bustling and the high rise, unrestrained architecture nearby is, let's just say, not to everyone's liking, but you know that before you go. Many of the guests appeared to stay within the hotel environs and who can blame them. Aside from that, it is uphill from the sea. There are very very few accommodations in Europe so well equipped for people with special needs and none that I know of in North America. For that the owners deserve thanks and appreciation.

Great hotel, completly wheelchair accessible with ramps, lifts and wide doors. Friendly staff, all areas are clean and food is help yourself breakfast and evening meals, tastes great. Pool is heated and easy to get hoisted in and out of with help from the life graud. Rooms are big enougth for wheelchair to go round very easy. You do need to pay for wifi which works and pay for drinks after breakfast. Only 5 minutes walk down hill to the beach, ok for me got a power wheelchair.

Thank goodness I’ve left I’ve forgiven everyone that anything to do with that hotel 🙏 I’ll get good karma & they get bad karma If you like to be scammed this is the place for you, I had so much trouble there with restaurant manager, chef, waiting staff, they make really disabled people non alcoholic drinks saying there’s alcohol in there, I was meant to be on special diet of white fish in white sauce & boiled potatoes! I refused to return there for 6 days which I already paid for & they wouldn’t return any money for me to eat out, they lie all the time & cleavers take your stuff, what a time getting my towels returned to me & they told me to have different colour than white like black 😑 I’m a 54 year old women who’s travelled the world 🌍 & this is the worst hotel I ever stayed in
