Returned to the UK five days ago after spending 28 days in Los Christianos staying at the Aquamar. We chose this hotel after having bad experiences at a neighbouring hotel last year. We were allocated room 226 on the second floor where we got sunshine late afternoon. The cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms was excellent, towels and bedding changed regularily and bins emptied daily. Kitchenette adequate for simple meals, two rings, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, fridge and kettle. Plenty of take out restaurants nearby including fish and chips. We always take a few catering items with us when self catering, sharp knife, scissors, cheap egg cups, just in case, as expected they were not supplied. Two single beds, which we found comfortable, some people complained hard. Open fronted wardrobe and only one small drawer. Plenty of electric sockets. Bathroom small narrow bath with powerful overhead shower, loads of hot water. Good hairdryer and basic toiletries supplied. Safety deposit boxes available near reception at a charge. T.V channels included BBC 1 and 2, ITV, ITV2+1 and BBC news. T.V was free. You could buy WIFI but we used our own. Ceiling fans in bedroom and lounge very quiet, no air con so can't comment what it would be like mid summer.
We didn't use restaurant or bar and only sat around the pool once. Saw one selfish woman put out about 15 sunbeds first thing and lay towels on them, some didn't get occupied for hours. Travelled with Jet2 and very happy with their service great to get your cases picked up, saves hassle at the airport. Despite some negative reviews and comments it is worth remembering this is a three star hotel, we can confirm that it is an excellent three star hotel. No real issues at all.

We had our flight home from Tenerife cancelled on Sunday night due to the sandstorms and our tour operator was unable to provide us with any hotel accommodation. We were a family of 10 which included my elderly parents and 5 children. Rather than having to spend the night at the overcrowded airport we finally managed to book 3 rooms at the Aguamar Apartments on last minute.com. Everywhere else we had tried was already fully booked. When we finally arrived at the hotel the receptionist had to explain to us that they were also completely full and last minute did not have a live booking system. We did not know what to do as we couldn’t stand the thought of having to return to the chaos of the airport.
The generosity, help and kindness all the hotel staff here showed us was amazing. They let us all stay in their games room, provided blankets and pillows, access to showers, towels and access to the luggage room. We were also able to have a good breakfast in the morning which was great value. The receptionist even drove me and my sister to the local shop to get water and food for the night and waited for us to finish and drove us back to the hotel so we didn’t have to be outside in the sandstorm. This was after 11pm when he should’ve already finished a long shift at work!!
Whilst we didn’t actually stay at this hotel, I can definitely confirm the staff are amazing and went out of their way to help us when we really needed it. We are extremely grateful to them all.

Well our first family holiday abroad happened to fall during lockdown restrictions. We were unsure if it would even go ahead. Depsite quarantine rules, it did. We had kept our eye in the trip advisor reviews in the weeks and months leading up to our trip and were confident based on the positive reviews that it would all be okay.
We were not disappointed at all. On arrival, we were greeted by a lovely lady on the desk, who's english was excellent. We were shown the apartment paperwork and everything was explained perfectly. The times of the meals were pointed out which was really helpful, as we arrived at lunch time.
Being a family holiday, we opted for half board, and once again we were not disappointed. Breakfast was available for 4 hours in the morning and lunch was available for another 4 hours in the afternoon. The menu was varied and we found enough to eat over the week. Although there was a breakfast menu available, we were able to mix and match items and create our own meals, the children loved this. We sat down for lunch approximately the same time every day and our table was always set and ready for us to arrive. If we could not make one of the sittings, we were offered a packed lunch, picnic or food to take to our apartment instead. A service I have not seen before.
For the most part, we were there on our own. We were the only ones eating in the restaurant which meant the service was really personal. We got to know the staff working there and they were very generous with their service throughout our stay.
The cleaning process of the entire complex was second to none. The rooms were cleaned every day, the restaurant was cleaned intermittently throughout the day and the pool area was disinfected continuously through the day, including the sun beds available. The service around the pool was great, sun beds available every day and were monitored and handed out by the man in charge of the pool area.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay made even better by the lovely, friendly and polite staff on duty. All members of staff we came in to contact with from the reception desk, to the cleaners and those in the restaurant all spoke excellent English which made things a lot easier for us.
We are very grateful to have found Agumar and we would definitely love to go back again.

Good points: All areas very clean, communal areas nice and hotel staff very friendly. Towels replaced regularly - on cleaners' days off you could request them from reception.
Bad points: Rooms dark and dated, cold, hard stick furniture, no comfort whatsoever. Our room didn't get any sun. It was cool for 1st 9 days (not blaming anyone for that) and we shivered!! Bedroom window didn't close but they fixed it the next day. Asked to be moved to sunnier room and told to wait our turn as lots wanted them!! They did move us after 1 week.
Supposedly self catering but very little kitchen equip: tiny microwave, no oven, 2 elec rings,only a bread knife- no peeler or sharp knife to even make a salad. Chopping board smaller than A4. Cheap corkscrew but no wine glasses!
2nd room was brighter but same equip exactly!
Also not much storage - plenty of hanging space but limited shelf space and 1 tiny drawer about 8x8 inches
Safety dep box, Wifi in rooms and sunbed pads all charged extra.
Have been to Los Cris lots of times and had better. Expected better from Jet2 , used them before and accomm was higher standard.

On asking the reception how much another room would be on a room only basis, he quoted me more than the whole holiday cost. Not very helpful at all.
The hotel is also one of the further most out the way towards the end of the town but there are a few bars and shops near by.

This complex is about 5 to 10 mins walk from the seafront. We found the staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms were of a decent size and very clean. Almost every day someone came to clean the room and changed the towels which was a service we weren't expecting. The pool area, again was very clean and there were plenty of sun beds available.

Having stayed at numerous other hotels in Los Cristianos over the years we were apprehensive about staying in a different hotel to our usual ones.
We travelled as a middle aged couple and were very satisfied with our apartment.
Although it was on the 4th floor, there are two lifts that were readily available for use and no long waits for one to become available. Most other residents respected COVID distancing and didn’t wish to travel in the same lift as us at the same time, there was plenty of hand sanitising stations throughout the hotel.
The room was very comfortable with a good view over the pool area and the mountain that overlooks the town.
The cleaning staff were meticulous in their work and beds were made most days, towels were changed on a regular basis.
The overall cleanliness of the hotel was of an high standard and the staff are a credit to the management by the way they interact with clients, friendly and helpful.
My only disappointment was that there was work being conducted on a neighbouring property swimming pool and at times it was noisy but in know way can that be a fault of the hotel.
The hotel is well placed within the town, plenty of shops, bars, restaurants within a few minutes walk.
We used the pool everyday, it was heated but as you would expect cold until your in and get used to it.
I would definitely stay at these apartments in the future.

I was very disappointed with this hotel!! The hotel spoke very little English (I understand it was a Spanish country) but having someone on site who speaks English is useful. They were not welcoming or helpful. Me and my partner struggle with customer service as we seem to be treated differently to older couples and this hotel was the perfect example. The hotel is a “non smoking hotel” which was not made aware when booking but was not a problem for everyone else in the hotel as every evening people were out smoking and weed included!! Cleaning around hotel was amazing everything wiped down and pool sun beds always cleaned after use. However our room was completely different! We had a dead cockroach by the door for 3 DAYS!!! Hoping they moved it by the time the next customers stayed!!! Clean bedding was put on but with a massive stain on them. WiFi is expensive so if you wish for a hotel with WiFi I would stay somewhere else. Pool bar was also expensive €5.60 for two small fanta’s (bare in mind I could get a pint of lager for half the price across the road!!) will not stay again!

Eight of us just returned from a lovely 10 Days in a 2 x apartment at the Aguamar. The hotel is in a great location, with easy access to bars, restaurants, supermarkets, taxis, buses and a 10 minute walk to the beach strip.
The room was clean and tidy, and while we were there cleaned by friendly staff Fri to Tues, with the bins emptied on a Weds & Thurs. Apartment well equipped, and the balcony area a nice place to sit out and relax on. Both apartments had 2 big ceiling fans in the living area and bedroom area are more then adequate although we did have to call reception to look at one of them on the first day as it looked like it was going to fly off the ceiling but they sorted it straight away and even they had the courtesy of ringing us up later in the day to make sure everything was ok.
One little niggle was the mattress, it would be a bit hard for some but every night I slept perfectly
The pool area although not huge but was great when even we used it every day. There is a Pool Bar / Eating Area next to the pool where you can get snacks and drinks during the day at a reasonable price,
OK - biggest complaint of the holiday from me now - SUNBED HOGGERS. Pool area open from 10am to 6pm with the sunbeds put away each night. By 9.30am every morning there were groups all around the pool waiting for the beds to go out. Totally fine if they were going to then use them - but within 30 mins the beds had been claimed with towels and then the area was deserted. Saying all this we managed to find a bed everyday and there was plenty to spare and you can hire a sunbed cushion for 3 euros where you get a ticket from reception it might be a different scenario in the peak summer months but there seemed plenty of spare. My only gripe would be 3 euros a day for a cushion per person would work out quite expensive if you stayed by the pool all day so maybe just buy yourself an extra towel or even buy a cheap lilo and use that for the bed and the pool.
We never used the hotel restaurant as such although we did buy lunch there a couple of times and food was lovely.
Recommendations for Food/Drinks from our stay are:
Cheap Beers: Sandy's Bar lovely friendly English staff (less then 2 mins walk),
Food: Treasure Chinese Restaurant 2 mins walk, went 3 times but there is plenty of steakhouses, Mexican, Italian restaurants about. If you want to self cater there is 2 or 3 supermarkets very close by.
Generally all the staff are lovely that made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for anybody.
One last note; read a few reviews about the hills around the apartment. There are several ways to get down to the beach strip and only one of them meant an uphill walk so plenty of other options there and I saw a lot of worse hills to climb up around the resort.
The room was clean and tidy, and while we were there cleaned by friendly staff Fri to Tues, with the bins emptied on a Weds & Thurs. Apartment well equipped, and the balcony area a nice place to sit out and relax on. Both apartments had 2 big ceiling fans in the living area and bedroom area are more then adequate although we did have to call reception to look at one of them on the first day as it looked like it was going to fly off the ceiling but they sorted it straight away and even they had the courtesy of ringing us up later in the day to make sure everything was ok.
One little niggle was the mattress, it would be a bit hard for some but every night I slept perfectly
The pool area although not huge but was great when even we used it every day. There is a Pool Bar / Eating Area next to the pool where you can get snacks and drinks during the day at a reasonable price,
OK - biggest complaint of the holiday from me now - SUNBED HOGGERS. Pool area open from 10am to 6pm with the sunbeds put away each night. By 9.30am every morning there were groups all around the pool waiting for the beds to go out. Totally fine if they were going to then use them - but within 30 mins the beds had been claimed with towels and then the area was deserted. Saying all this we managed to find a bed everyday and there was plenty to spare and you can hire a sunbed cushion for 3 euros where you get a ticket from reception it might be a different scenario in the peak summer months but there seemed plenty of spare. My only gripe would be 3 euros a day for a cushion per person would work out quite expensive if you stayed by the pool all day so maybe just buy yourself an extra towel or even buy a cheap lilo and use that for the bed and the pool.
We never used the hotel restaurant as such although we did buy lunch there a couple of times and food was lovely.
Recommendations for Food/Drinks from our stay are:
Cheap Beers: Sandy's Bar lovely friendly English staff (less then 2 mins walk),
Food: Treasure Chinese Restaurant 2 mins walk, went 3 times but there is plenty of steakhouses, Mexican, Italian restaurants about. If you want to self cater there is 2 or 3 supermarkets very close by.

Two couple review. Upon arriving after an evening flight from East Midlands we were met by a very helpful and happy young man on reception who promptly sorted our rooms and gave us the local information regarding mask wearing etc. When we got to the rooms 101 and 102 we were disappointed with the location as there was no view other than a small power station with barb wire wrapped around it. Room 102 then had a problem with the patio door coming off the rail which we reported to the young man and asked if we could be upgraded or moved ( all the rooms are the same apart from a few family rooms so no upgrading ) he immediately obliged and said if we could wait until the morning he would arrange another two rooms. The next morning as he had promised we were moved to two second floor rooms with a view of the pool so excellent service. The hotel is clean and located about 10/15 minute walk from the beach with plenty of bars and restaurants on the way down to the beach which then has plenty of variety for everyone. A couple of things during these pressing times are when leaving there is no luggage room or shower facilities so if you can’t keep your room on it is a slight problem. The evening bar/restaurant is not open either past 5.00pm due to again covid restrictions due to the size of the hotel ( that is what reception told us regarding why the shower/luggage room and bar are not open) there is a pool bar that opens around 8.30/900am which serves breakfast hot food and drinks alcoholic and soft. The strangest thing though was the sunbeds are not left out they are put away every night around 6.00ish and put out around 10.30am so people were putting towels down on the floor to reserve their spots. All in all a nice break and during these times good to get away and the Aguamar looks to of survived Covid itself and hopefully get back to normal in the not to distant future.

Hi yes there is safes in the room. No not really storage as such but you can put them in the walldrobes as thay are very wide and tall. Hope this helped.
