Is it worth me paying 1000e for one week in this hotel? Pros -The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. -Nice little Spa area. -Good and large studio apartment. Nicely decorated Cons -Hotel not by the beach but facing a road where you can hear touristic buses from 6am. -Reception closed after 6PM See view, yes overlooking the road -Hotel In middle of nowhere and need a car to do anything. Nothing walking distance such as Bars or restaurants. -Cleaning is done in a time record each time, maxi 10min! -No dishwasher - Cold swimming pool despite being heated -WiFi not always working properly -Breakfast: poor and horrible coffee. We stopped going as not many options for vegans. Anyway, this hotel is certainly good for a all inclusive clientele with little expectation and it was not worth my 1000 euros and stop using Covid as a bad excuse for not delivering good quality standard.…
We (family of 2 adults, 2 kids age 10 and 11) spent a week at the Esmeralda Maris in February. The apartment was spacious and newly renovated and the location of the Esmeralda Maris is great as less then 2 minutes by car from Sotavento beach. The service of the hotel / apartment complex was very helpful with recommendations of good restaurants, organization of PCR tests, things to do and to see with kids. We will certainly come back !
Stayed here for one week with our 1 and 5 year old. We booked a junior suite h/b and were not disappointed. Apartment was very spacious and had all we needed as well as being extremely clean. Breakfast and dinner buffet offered a variety of food with the option to select daily dishes cooked to order. Staff were amazing with the kids who were tbh a total pain at eating times, particularly the lady in the shop who was beyond lovely. Amazing beach just down the hill (100 meters). If you want to explore though would definitely recommend a car as we had a couple of days out and car made it much easier. Only negative was the pool, it is on the small side and no shallow area for kids, but other than that would recommend.
We arrived to the hotel 3 hours earlier than the check-in time. The lady at the reception called the cleaning department to prioritize our room, so we could get it within an hour. Till then we got a place to leave our luggages, so we could go to the beach and start our holiday. Our room had a beautiful see view with a big balcony. Inside we had also more than enough space for the two of us. I was satisfied with the cleanliness of the room and the whole hotel. Both the breakfast and the dinner are nice and delicious with a wide sortiment of different dishes. All in all I would recommend this hotel for everyone.
Rental car: Avia Car. Perfect service Hotel: friendly staff, room 211: big, ocean view, breakfast: great. Dinner: never went, we don't do buffets. Local shop is closed at noon: not good. Internet great
Stayed here for a week the hotel is ok the staff are very nice one bar tender tells you to sit down we don’t serve at the bar. I really have to mention the lack of water tea coffee stations there are none. Pleading for bottles of water isn’t my idea of a great holiday. Even in the gym no water. We have done all inclusive for years so staying in this hotel on this basis is a must I believe it is 2 euros for a bottle of water that is glass with a cap they open in front of you... we asked them to refill the one we had at start of holiday. Also they still have plastic straws but I suppose they are doing their but by not having plastic bottles anywhere on the complex. Also what spoiled it for me was the freezing pools even the bubble pool that looked like a hot tub freezing. Not many people tend to swim. The food is ok buffet style in the main part pool bar could do better. If you like to explore a car is a must there is a free bus that takes you to nearest town didn’t do this. Beware the beach from the hotel is nudist all over the beach . Saying that it a very nice beach. You can also walk along to some stunning beaches for wind surfing. The plus side .. no mosquitos it’s to windy. Very good if you need some winter sun and just to relax on a quiet island.…
Nicely laid out hotel, spacious rooms with direct access to the beach. We found the beds very hard and requested a mattress topper which arrived quickly. We were on the ground floor, you could hear every movement from the upstairs room, so I recommend you pack earplugs. The hotel is located on the outskirts and a long walk to the nearest shop, restaurants or bars. If you want to stay in one place, this is the hotel for you, but if you like to explore you will need a car. The beach is beautiful and we enjoyed feeding the chipmunks that came down from the rocks to greet you, however we warn you that this beach is a nudist beach. If this is not your cup of tea (it wasn't ours) you need to travel to a different beach in Costa Calma.
Rooms are excellent, although the interior is slightly outdated. Sea view is partly obscured by other hotels. Breakfast and dinner buffet offer sufficient variety. Location is remote so a rental car is a must.
Pros: good lockation, friendly staff, clean, big appartments. Cons: food variety (we took half board), communication between staff, pool very small, dated decor of apartments & NO FREE table water, if you don’t want to drink anything else for dinner... Talking about food - each breakfast was the same, not even single thing have changed in 8 days stay. I prefer scrabled egg for breakfast, but after one try decided to void it whole stay. How I understand to keep food warm hotel is using warming from top so everything dries out & gets covered in hard thin film... scrambled eggs felt like been prepared day before ( I’ve seen myself how one of the staff was pushing racks of preped food to the dinning area 2 hours before the evening meal start. Not sure is it the same happens to the breakfast). For the dinner as well variety was not grate. You see people wandering looking what to grab from really minimum choice. One evening you getting 3 pasta dishes and the next one not even a single one (we stayed with the toddler & as you know pasta is a life saver in some cases with tods). Staff was really friendly when dealt in person, however we had two unpleasant situations which uncovered some problems. One was the first dinner we went to eat & apparently the receptionist who booked us in marked us as self catering in their system (no hand-bands given to the quests they just look at you do they remember you, if not checks each time in their tablet... totally random - never felt so unpleasant before coming for my meal). The waiter who served us said that we are self catering & the dinner does not belong to us so loudly that I am pretty sure everyone in the dinning area heard him - I felt how everyone start staring at us... ended up going up myself to receptionist to clarify & after few min with still people staring at out table started our meal... The second unpleasant situation was day before leaving. Receptionist rung to us to offer picnic bag instead of breakfast for the last morning as our flight was in the first half of the day... well why not! we took it & thought how thoughtful it was, but when we went to pick it up the lady who was making them did not know about our room’s order just about other room’s bag. So she rung to clarify & we ended up getting that bag which was made for other room. The guy who supposed to get it saw his room number on the bag and chased us to discus why we took his bag. At the end it actually was our breakfast & the other room’s request was forgotten... NO FREE table water for the evening meal. How strange it would be these days, but if you want something to drink even just simple water you need to pay for it & the bottle they bring to you it not even opened in front of you. My partner even joked to me one night when I choice to get just water that they probably reuse the bottle & fills just from the big water tanks (charges 2 euros). To summarise - clean & quiet hotel. Would not take second time half boar in this hotel even though I hate cooking on holidays & normally take all included. Better would eat somewhere in town in this hotel. …
This is a very nice hotel consisting of comfortable apartments and very nice sea views, though there is another hotel right in front of it. There is an excellent pool, gym and sauna and the breakfast is very good. The beach is a 5 minute walk away.
