We were enjoying a lovely stay at this hotel when Spain went into ‘lockdown’ due to Corona Virus. The accommodation is separate low level suites ,including a personal courtyard with sun beds, set in attractive grounds with 2 swimming pools, a Spa, tennis court and a children’s playground. The main building has two restaurants, bar and reception. Beaches and a lovely bar plus a third restaurant just outside, were within walking distance. On 15/3 we received a letter advising us of the ‘lockdown’; the management advised us to get a flight home as soon as possible, that the ‘public’ areas of the hotel were out of bounds which was Spanish government policy. .We were all to stay in our suite but could go to the restaurant for meals. Having a living room with sofa and the courtyard made it more comfortable than if we had just a room. The food was delicious with a good selection and the staff were unfailingly helpful and courteous, even after ‘lockdown’. We were never made to feel unwelcome at the hotel; they stayed open until the last guests departed. At the airport, we heard many accounts of hotels in Fuerteventura unceremoniously closing , telling guests to leave , even though they did not yet have a return flight. We want to return to enjoy the facilities at this hotel without the restrictions which we have all been subjected to worldwide.

Dear customers Thank you very much for your comments It was a difficult time for everyone, but we just wanted our clients to feel the best they could in the chaos that was happening. If for us the situation was complicated for you who were far from your homes it was much more. We are glad to know that you felt welcome at all times. We are living some very complicated moments worldwide, but we are sure that all this will happen and so we can return to normality. Hoping to see us again very soon in our hotel Best regards Jose Gonzales Allende Director General

This is a lovely hotel, very private and quiet with lots of space in the individual pods. Lovely grounds. Plenty of space on the beach opposite . The area around it is quiet. Unfortunately while we were there we were confined to our room as a result of the virus. Obviously this was no fault of the hotel but all the staff continued to look after everyone aswell as they could and maintained their helpful, pleasant attitude. They couldn't have done anymore and we were very grateful to them.

Absolutely loved the accomodation & private courtyard. Clean and modern. No fighting for sunbeds as we preferred the beds with the mattresses in the courtyard rather than the uncomfortable beds around the pool. Never used the gym, tennis courts or spa but they all looked good. My only criticism would be the evening meal experience. Most meals were quite bland (no seasoning) except for the beef stew on the Italian evening, which was the best dish we had all week. Some of the desserts were quite nice too. The atmosphere was slightly lacking in the restaurant. Perhaps dimmer lighting and a bit of relaxing background music would help, although the pianist (who only played one night) was excellent. Overall I would recommend this hotel but one week was enough for us.

This is a great hotel to stay for a short break. We had a lovely pod which had a sun lounger area with loungers, a Jacuzzi, hot shower, two double beds and a lounge area with settee looking towards the sea. Then another exit with two chairs and umbrella looking over the large garden area. Also a gym and pools. Food was very good for our half board so breakfast and evening meal. Friendly staff as well. The town had little to offer but the beaches close by were clean and long stretches of sand and you could go naked if that is your thing! It is windy but plenty of sheltered areas. Bus service was ok if you want to do public transport.

Room Tip: Our pod number was 106 and that stretch of pods were in a good location. Very quiet there as well.

My wife and I were hoping for a relaxing break where we could soak up some sun and recharge our batteries, and this was just perfect. As part of our Secret Escapes package we had a private taxi transfer from the airport which was very efficient and easy. On arrival we were greeted with warmth, efficiency and champagne! The hotel has been in place since 1994, one of the first in Costa Calma, but everything is kept in tip-top condition. The gardens especially have beautiful, well-established cacti and other plantings. In contrast to the other, newer developments in the resort, we really appreciated the low-rise and spacious feel. The room space is generous and very comfortable. Each room has its own private area with sun beds and a front patio with table and chairs. The housekeeping staff were inobtrusive and efficient. We were on half-board. Breakfast was a pleasure, sitting in the fresh air. There is a great, plentiful selection of food and drink. The opening hours for breakfast and dinner were very generous too. Dinner alternated between themed nights on the outdoor patio, and the more formal (but still relaxed) indoor dining room. My wife (pescetarian) and me (omnivore) loved the food. The weather (23-25c and sunny) was perfect, and the evenings were cool enough that you needed a jumper. There are glorious beaches within a short walk, a good supermarket, and cafes (we particularly liked the cafe at the back of the property). The other guests were pleasant and typically came from the UK and other parts of Europe, especially Germany. This made for a continental feel. We'd go back!
