Stayed at the Sands Beach Resort earlier this month as a family of 5. We booked 2 x superior rooms and were allocated ones with a pool side view in Plaza Del Sol. There are 7 pools in the complex which means that none of them ever feel busy and each have plenty of space for sun loungers, although, there appeared to be a shortage of these around our particular plaza. The rooms themself are on the basic side and the two we had were showing signs of wear.. the bathrooms and kitchens in both really should be replaced. The complex itself is immaculate, the grounds are well maintained and all staff we dealt with were helpful, polite and spoke very good english. One negative regarding the complex is the cost of drinks in the two onsite bars, the Mai Tai was very expensive (double the price we paid in nearby bars) and the one near reception wasn't much better (which may explain why it was empty most nights!) Location wise, the complex is approx 5 mins from a shopping centre and 15 mins from the main Costa Teguise resort centre where there are many excellent bars and restaurants. On our final day we checked out at noon but had requested use of another room until our pickup at 1800. This cost us 50 euros but meant would could have a normal last day and made full use of the pool in Plaza Canarias where we were moved to. Overall we all enjoyed our stay and will definitely look to return in the future, I just hope the rooms have been refreshed first!

I would definitely not rate this hotel as 4star 2 stars max. Room is very dated and run down. Skirting boards falling off or screwed together. Flooring is all coming apart to the point you can trip over them. Bathroom door frame has had a hole taped up to stop cockroaches coming out which I noticed while on toilet as one run out and then back in. Socket on wall for hair dryer nearly comes away when you unplug it. Looks like damp on walls. Kitchen is rundown. All cupboards and wardrobes stink musty and of damp to the point where I hung my clothes up and they smelt. The bathroom absolutely stink of urine and there was a small puddle on the day we got our room it was still there when we left so maid clearly didn't care. This is meant to be a superior beach front room. Which is laughable I've stayed in better b&bs. The mai tai bar is pricey and if you want to sit round pool or sunbathe while kids are in pool they charge you €6 per bed even though you've paid for a stay at hotel. Wont be returning!!! I have pictures to back up the room but they ont load as there over 5mb. Honestly option swerve this hotel.

We stayed here for 1 week and it was pure hardship with 3 kids under 5 and one wobbler ages 16 months. The apartments are full of drawers which we had to remove and put on top of the kitchen there is no dead switch on the cooker which is very dangerous the baby at every opportunity turned on the cooker or oven! Outside on the patio area there are little black stones under a palm tree area and the kids spent the week throwing them and they are a pain to try and sweep up when your room doesn't have a sweeping brush. Reception weren't very nice when we arrived they wouldn't accommodate us with an early check in even though I had rang ahead to confirm this David on reception was horrible and kept tapping the sign telling me I couldn't complain until after 4pm.. they gave us our room at 3:55. One of the mornings we were walking out the front door and my 5 year old went a few steps ahead to the revolving door and it took off at high speed and she got caught it in and hurt her head and hand.. to which the receptionist tuttted at us and did not offer any assistance... fuming over this. The Mai Tai pool is supposed to be heated well its absolutely baltic as at all of the pools so my 3 basically got about 15 min intervals in the toddler (unheated) pool before the nearly froze and we had to take them out. Rosemary the duty manager was the only one in this place with any manners and was very helpful when it came to arranging a trip to Texas Ranchero. Overall this was not a holiday it was pure and utter hardship and I would not recommend for anyone with young kids. We couldn't take our eyes off the kids at all. We paid for a superior room and my parents were in a 1 bed apt and there was little to no difference I wouldn't waste your money on a superior. The hotel is a good walk from everything also so its not very central. Overall a very disappointing trip even though from all the research and reviews I read this was supposed to be a family hotel I just didn't feel like it was.. The shop on site is good and has a good selection also the food in the Mai Tai bar is lovely. There was also a lot of noise at night due to some swimming competition being on. I'm sure this hotel is perfect for older children and couples etc i would just not recommend for young children.

Just spent 6 nights at Sands Beach Resort with my 7 yr old son and I can't speak highly enough. The resort is beautifully designed and maintained. There are 7 or 8 swimming pools within the property so you never get bored. We had a beach front apartment which had a beautiful lagoon right outside with clean sand and full of fishes. The staff was very nice and friendly and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. My son had his birthday while we were there, which we mentioned to the reception and then every staff member wished my son wherever he went - which was much appreciated and made his day even special. There was even a card and a box of choclates sent to our room. We even use the kids club (buddy's club) which was great as well with very friendly staff. Can't comment on the restaurant food as we were self-catering but the buffet restaurant looked amazing. There are superstores and places to eat within 10 min walk from the resort so never had any trouble regarding food. There is a well stocked and clean gym as well with some fitness classes for adults and kids as well.

The service here was top class when we arrived we were upgraded free of charge to a beachfront apartment. The staff were most helpful with any request. The apartment was spotless, 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms and a small living room and kitchen which is perfect for a family. There was also a bonus of a small enclosed patio area which is great if you want to sunbathe in privacy or to keep an eye on small children. The location is good, plenty of restaurants nearby and pool areas. A short taxi ride into the town offers more choice of restaurants and shops. The resort overall is a 10/10. Would love to stay here again.
