Hotel's Favorite
Where to begin - we stayed in room 2049 which was sea view with jacuzzi tub as you can see from pictures. The room had great facilities; a shower, safe (€3 per day to use) iron & board, a large wardrobe and you could request more hangers if required, a fridge, a Kettle, tea, coffee & machine in the room too. Always cleaned amazingly & restocked daily. There is a kids playground underneath 2049 but that didn’t really bother us at all. The staff were FANTASTIC, friendly, attentive & funny and constantly went out of their way to help ! There is no pool service here if you are all inclusive (we were half board) and this suited us & food can only be consumed at the restaurants when open and not around the pool. Location is great, beach in 5 minutes, a massive choice of food places for lunch and dinner so defo venture out to try places as we found some fantastic restaurants. A very relaxing, adults only holiday which had chilled music throughout the day & most people chilled and read books or listened to music around the pool so was quiet & relaxing. 2 pools, one smaller (more for the picture viewpoint) and a second which was the main pool. The breakfast & dinner buffet was always stocked up & they had a great array of food to choose from as well as juices, milkshakes and other drinks. Evening entertainment (singers) started at 10pm every night and it was good, our favourite was Aaron he had a fantastic soulful voice. The staff will pretty much make any cocktail you want even if it’s not on the menu. We were SO glad we picked this hotel after looking at a few in the area and not being too impressed with the reviews. If we ever come back to Lanzarote we won’t hesitate to book here again! Thank you so much for such an amazing week.

Overall the hotel is about the best in the area, but not quite up to the standards of the Barcelo Hotels in neighbouring Tenerife. Standard rooms are pretty cramped so upgraded to a junior suite which is far bigger and more what to expect from a room. Lovely comfy bed and modern TV but did feel slightly dated in areas. As we're sunbathers it was important to get a nice spot by the main pool but these are limited as the sun drops by around 5pm in Oct, fairly limited on sunbeds that do not get shade coverage by the large palm trees. Now onto my biggest bugbear - Towels and reserving sunbeds. For some reason unknown to us the poolside life guard is very protective over how many towels each person can have, "max of 1 person" seems an odd rule to have when other Barcelo's have no limit and sometimes it's nice to dry off after doing the animation activities or even cover up if the sun is getting intense during midday. There is a written limited of 60 mins max to be away from sunbeds but these rule does not seem to be applied with other guests often being away for 3-4 hours at a time

We stayed at Barceló Teguise for a week all inclusive as a couple in our late 20s. Positives: Hotel is beautifully decorated. We stayed in room 2104 which had a great view of the whole pool. The room was a good size, bed was super comfortable and the whirlpool bath on the balcony was an added bonus. Air conditioning was good but once balcony doors are open it switches off. Breakfast buffet had a good variety of food to choose from. Lunch was by far the best meal - there are two restaurants to choose from, both which you order off the menu rather then it being buffet style. We ate most of our meals in Breeze pool bar and the quality of food was excellent. The hotel is in a great location, there are two nice beaches just a five minute walk - we spent two mornings at playa de jabillo and the sea was so clear, perfect spot for snorkelling. The hotel cocktail list was good with lots of choice, however we found lots of the cocktails to be rather sickly but very strong. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. The pool was nice (although very cold), we didn’t struggle to get sun loungers although towards the end of our holiday it seemed people were reserving them earlier and earlier. Negatives: Dinner buffet was average, we are by no means fussy eaters but found it to be lacking and repetitive. Would be much better if champs or breeze bar was open at dinner time too rather than just lunch. We ended up eating out 4 nights out of 7 and had four stunning meals in different local restaurants - there is plenty of choice and I personally would not go all inclusive again as it was nice to be able to go out for dinner and not be limited to a basic buffet. The room although lovely was very dark, particularly in the shower, the lighting needs improving. The cleaners did not do the best of jobs, besides changing the bed and providing fresh towels they did not remove rubbish or provide clean glasses. There was lots of ants around the sink area. The evening entertainment was poor, every other day they have the same singers returning. Singers are very average with one of them in particular miming rather than singing live. We ended up going out for drinks and live music as we were so bored. The hotel definitely lacks atmosphere if that is what you are looking for. Very quiet around the pool area with some very strange music in the background. Lots of stuck up middle-old age people around that seem to judge you for making any noise or jumping in the pool. Would not recommend this hotel to younger couples looking for a bit of an atmosphere or to ‘have a laugh’ whilst away. Overall hotel was lovely but we would not return based on the above.
