Positive: Rooms are nice/large enough with excellent beds Bathroom is large with a good shower that could benefit some more water pressure. Staff was friendly. We couldn't complain about the barmen. They were always polite. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choice with good bread; lots of cheese and meat; egg-station and lot of fruit. Diner buffet was not bad, but even as there was a different theme (japanese with sushi/Canarian/Italian evening/Seafood). It was all a bit of the same. All inclusive cocktails were good. Wine was basic, but there were alternatives a la carte (paying). Negative: Although large and beautiful the swimming pool is not heated. Luckily on day 2 the occupancy of the hotel dropped, but i guess in full season all the sunbeds are taken at 7am and no control of taken seats. The Level restaurant is really sub-par: as all inclusive guest we were entitled to have 1 diner at the a la carte restaurant: choice is very limited. My main course: tempura of langoustines: were 7-8 miserable deepfried schrimpsnacks. My dessert was a kind of mousse that was inedible. I was so hungry that we went back to the buffet restaurant to eat some more... All in all this is not a hotel we wil be coming back. Restaurants are basic and certainly inside cheerless. Luckily weather was excellent and we sat always outside. What should be changed: more choices of restaurants for all-inclusive/half board tourists: 2-3 themed a la carte restaurants would be great.

Stayed here for 1 week at the end of October 2020. The hotel had all the COVID precautions in place with hand sanitizers everywhere, sunbeds spaced out etc. As a rule in Lanzarote, you have to wear a face mask everywhere apart from when sunbathing, in the pool, eating, drinking or doing exercise. The pool and all the hotel surroundings are gorgeous. The hotel is right on the beach which had a path to take you to the shops, bars and restaurants which are probably about a 10 minute walk away. There were lots of choice for restaurants there but with a reduced number of tourists due to COVID a fair few had closed or did not open some days during the week. Breakfast was a buffet and great with lots of choice. You had to wear gloves and a mask in order to get the food. Drinks from the main bar were great, especially the cocktails. There is a supermarket a few minutes walk away. The balcony’s have the walls quite high and glass fronts meaning they manage to get the sun (pool facing gets the sun all day) but are also sheltered from the wind. Which was particularly nice to be able to sit out in the evening. The reception and staff were very helpful and attentive. They even left some cava in our room for my birthday! The main downside, and I don’t know whether this was particular to our room, but the aircon in the room was very poor and didn’t cool the room down. We had a gorgeous view from the balcony and got the sun all day, so I am not sure if that impacted on the air conditioning performance (we closed the curtains all day to make sure it kept as cool as possible). We mentioned this to the reception who sent someone up to look at it but we didn’t hear anymore so assumed the aircon is just how it is. Another slight niggle, was that the gym didn’t open until 5pm. When asked why this was reception said because there were other activities around the pool in the daytime (which was true). Depending on the day there was yoga, Pilates, spin and aqua aerobics.

Hotel Ambience Well presented, clean hotel with excellent facilities. Brilliant location, beautiful pool, ambience and a fantastic stretch of beach right behind the hotel. Food I was really reluctant about an all inclusive buffet. However, these guys have pulled it off, an amazing selection of food at the buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The coffee is truly awful, despite complaining to the manager they did absolutely nothing about this. I noticed they had a beautiful coffee machine at the bar which is closed during the day and is only open between 6pm and midnight, really? Hospitality The consistency and quality of the drinks that are received at the outdoor pool and the evening are worlds apart. In the day you have to walk to the bar (which is quite a distance from the sun beds) each time you want a drink, this could be easily resolved with table service and should be standard for a proper 5 star hotel. Secondly, they serve you cocktails in a paper cup, and most of the time they have no clue what they’re actually making. On the flip side, they pay much more attention in the evening to the quality of the drinks, but the problem is there are no bar staff around so you really have to fight to get their attention. Again, not something you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Summary If you’re looking for a week of sun, poolside relaxing and good food, you’ll have a pleasant week here. Just be prepared for the service not quite being up to scratch and having to wake up at the crack of dawn to claim your sunbed. Despite there being signs everywhere the hotel staff do absolutely nothing about people claiming sun beds and not using them. Again, a very simple fix and this would not be tolerated at a 5 star hotel.

Don’t be fooled by the 5* Status!!! Stayed 2-12 Nov. 20. We have used Melia before & been very happy, NOT THIS TIME! Hotel-overall it looks okay, paths by pool uneven, thread bear carpets on the stairs! Room–tired, maintenance needed 1st day, air conditioning was very difficult to control. Service-spot the service staff. Nightmare getting serviced anytime, any bar or restaurant. Could wait 30 minutes! Staff were curt & rude sometimes. Food-very little good to say about the food. Advertisements suggest restaurantS, there isn’t. Buffet & Level restaurant only. Buffet food is cold, grey & mainly inedible. The food isn’t replenished & left under the lights to go hard & crispy. Found out a couple of days in that you can order from the pool bar off a menu, no-one informs you of this. Food here was average but at least hot & serviced at the table. Weird rules for the food & bars which were not made aware of at any time by hotel or Tui. As for the Level restaurant, not much food, ordered Tempura Prawns for a main & got 8 prawns ONLY! Apparently you get to visit this restaurant once in a 7ngt stay but again no communications so we weren’t aware at the beginning. Serious incident, last night, restaurant staff aggressively approached my partner about where he exited the restaurant. It got quite nasty! Level–not worth the extra money £1K+ for us. Toilets–1 in reception & Pool side flooded & unuseable. Comms-lack of information on arrival, during about what is included & not.

We have just returned from 10 wonderful days. I thought the hotel was really well organised and staff were great. We were half board in main hotel, the food was delicious and no problems whatsoever. Can't wait to go back.
