The hotel is a nice and stylish looking place with brand new furniture outside in excellent condition and extra clean. The buffet style is excellent with lots of meat, seafood, veggies, cheeses, great desserts etc. The staff very friendly and going the extra mile. Food at the bistro is inexpensive (10€-14€ for food platters and 2,60€ water, 10€ long drinks). 90% of the rooms are facing the beautiful ocean. Rooms 1x04 & 1x05 are directly in top of the bar where there is a music program between 21:30 - 22:30. The rooms with a - minus are below the terrace and facing directly the ocean. It us directly next to the Robinson Club Jandia. People seemed to be more on the relaxed and quiet side, many retirees, older couples, few families - so no loud music or entertainment at the pool all day. Definitely not a party spot. Everyone behaved extra correct with masks even outside at the terrace. When we were there, it was 24 C every day and plenty hot enough for pool and bathing suit and getting a great tan. Pool is good size, rather small. Great long chairs. To get to the beach, which is directly in front of hotel, it is quite a walk, not suitable for handicapped despite elevator. Beautiful large beach with crystal clear green water, no stones or algees, great for wind surfing or parasurfing. The chairs and parasols do not belong to the Riu hotel but another private owner and cost around 12€/day. I would definitely come again, particularly in winter. Best winter break ever.

Hotel's Favorite
After more than 25 years, I have returned to the RIU Palace Jandia. The hotel was completely refurbished in 2020 and everything has a clean fresh look. Booking a sea-facing room is worth the additional charge as the views onto the ocean are stunning. Breakfast and dinner is served in the main restaurant (buffet-style) with a wide variety of foods for every taste. The second restaurant which is a la carte is currently open 3 days a week for dinner and serves a really sophisticated 3 course menu. After dinner, a band is playing at the bar so you can enjoy a drink, relax and unwind. The staff is very friendly and especially in the restaurant very attentive. The hotel is perfectly located on the beach and in my opinion the nicest in the area. I would return anytime. With regards to COVID hygienic / safety regulations: You find hand sanitizers everywhere; your temperature is checked as soon as you enter the restaurants and the restaurant keeps one row of tables open to ensure social distancing; the sunbeds are disinfected every evening. Just one little downside though: Some guests still "book" their sunbeds early in the morning, however, it was only a minority...

We have just returned from our 14th and sadly last visit to this hotel. First and foremost I would like say that the staff at the Riu Palace Jandia are without doubt the best that we have encountered in any hotel we have visited. They are friendly, efficient and really go out of their way to make you feel valued as a guest. The location of the hotel is also excellent, overlooking the beautiful beach and within a short walk of the fishing village of Morro Jable and its many bars and restaurants. We did enjoy a relaxing week in the sun, However, during 2020 the hotel underwent a major refurbishment. and for us the hotel has lost its previously unique style and character and now seems like any other modern hotel. Other reviews clearly show that many guests love the new style, but as guests over many years, for us the changes are not for the better. A major disappointment is the quality of the refurbished rooms, where the furniture and fittings have quite a cheap feel compared to previously, are quite minimalist in style and there is an abundance of fake wood finish. Whilst the bed itself was comfortable, the quality of the bedding and pillows is quite poor. The light fittings are cheap plastic, and the overall feel is that of a budget hotel room, albeit a large one with ocean views! The bathrooms are good but would benefit from a door, as the shower can be clearly seen from anyone opening the main door to the room. The towels were thin and sometime threadbare and toileteries were not always replenished. There is a kettle in the room, and sachets of teas and coffee, but strangely milk is not provided, with only sachets of powder creamer being available. Another disappointment is the poolside bar / snack bar where previously we enjoyed lunch at comfortable tables overlooking the pool and sun terraces. Now the furniture been replaced with uncomfortable chairs and tables that are really too small to comfortably serve lunch on. Yes, there are larger tables inside but sadly the ambience there is similar to a cafeteria. Whereas before, the Spa and sauna were located overlooking the beautiful beach, the Spa has been moved to a dark location poolside, and surprisingly the hotel no longer has a sauna, which I personally missed. Little touches like a welcome drink at check-in, complimentary fresh fruit and wine in the room on arrival, and fresh flowers in the room are no longer given as previously. During our visit the lounge bar was not open so the only option in the evening was to sit in the open air or within the open bar / cafeteria area, and the evening entertainment was on an outside stage. We previously enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the poolside bar where a pianist played, but sadly that has now gone. On a positive note, the quality and variety of food at breakfast and dinner is still excellent, although dining in the restaurant seemed to be less of an occasion than previously due to the fact that you had to find a free table each night whereas previously, due to two dinner serving times, you had a specific table which was ready for you each night. In summary, we think that the Riu Palace Jandia does not have the facilities of a true 5-star hotel but rather a good 4-star. It does provide good accommodation in a good setting, is spotlessly clean, and has wonderful staff, but in other ways is no different than many other modern hotels. As with any review these are our personal views and many will love the modern and more minimalist feel of the Riu Palace Jandia, but after many happy holidays there it is no longer a hotel that we wish to return to. We do however, wish the hotel and its wonderful staff every success in the future.

Our room was beautiful, big and clean and a beautiful view over the sea and beach. The food was nice and the food in the Cristal restaurant was very good. The swimming pool was big enough and also very clean with the possibility of clean towels the whole day. The only thing was that there were many stairs and steps. We didn't mind but if you are not that mobile ask for a room near the lift.
