My stay at Cleopatra Superior can only be described as Wonderful. The room is what to be expected of a Greek 3 star hotel.I was on the second floor overlooking the swimming pool and sea .This view was beautiful a relaxing way to unwind at night with a drink on the balcony. My room was cleaned every day but due to Covid I had to ask for the towels and Linen to be changed at reception, which was no problem because I passed from reception a couple of times a day to drop of my key.

Another important factor for me was the Health issue due to Covid and it was great to see the hotel had hand sanitizer everywhere for the guests and they were very strict with everyone wearing there masks indoors. When I forgot to wear it once it was politely pointed out to me.

I had the option to have breakfast at the KrisMari hotel or at Alma restaurant .I chose the Alma option as I usually got the full english breakfast and for just 4.50 euros it was very filling. Also at Alma you got waited on by very friendly staff.instead of having to wait in line.

I was made to feel very welcome from the first moment I was checked in with very friendly staff always helpful and smiling.

The pool was very clean as was all the Hotel areas.Nice snacks at the pool bar.Unfortunately the bars closed at 12.00 due to covid restrictions

I would highly recommend Cleopatra Superior as it had nice clean rooms and friendly atmosphere.Definately worth upgrading to a pool view.

What a fantastic hotel made even better by the friendly warm welcoming staff. The facilities at this hotel were perfect for me and my husband. The hotel has a lovely pool with beautiful surroundings and plenty of sunbeds. The pool bar staff are always on hand and accommodate your every wish. The rooms are spacious enough to be comfortable and the beds were nice and comfy too. The cleaning service was excellent and the cleaner came by every single day to clean the room, towels were left everytime we asked for them and were routinely changed at least four times during our ten day stay. The bathroom shower curtain didn't offer much protection but it wasn't a problem because the bathroom was actually a wet room too and dried up in no time. Covid rules were well followed with staff wearing masks indoors and expecting the same from you. We stayed half board and were given a voucher to eat at either the Kris Marie sister hotel next door or the Alma restaurant. The Alma restaurant is breathtaking in its beautiful setting on the beach and once again the staff were super friendly and attentive. The food here was amazing and if you're going there you simply must try the Moussaka it was amazing. Phil and Kara are amazing staff members and work so hard with a smile on their face and friendly conversations. We never ended up eating at the Kris Marie as the Alma was perfect for us. Last and by no means least and mentioned earlier this hotel is simply made special by its special staff. Panos and George on the reception are just wonderful people and nothing is too much trouble for them, every single request by us was met with a smile a warm conversation and genuine Greek Hospitality. Thank you Cleopatra Superior hotel and staff for making our first visit to Greece so wonderful and memorable.
We will be back.
Vinny and Nancy.

lovely holiday great stay staff are so lovely rooms cleaned every day towels every second day you need to ask them to change them
Lovely clean hotel pool is great not many beds and its one of those that if your not up early you have missed out on sunbeds.
During covid there are plenty protocols hand gel everywhere you must wear masks inside the hotel no inflatables due to covid.
One negative is the pool bar staff are so strict no food or drink including water is to be consumed around the pool unless its brought from them.
We kept ours in our bags.
Rooms are clean and hotel is a typical 3 star not wow but clean and right by the beach and restaurants.
They do not cater for gluten free people and the bars restaurants and supermarkets do not have gluten free food.
Only 2 places Chinese and Indian restaurant and the portoeye restaurant thats all. But both these are lovely just bring your own food eg bread cereal etc
If you're looking for a clean friendly hotel this is great..thank you to the cleaners and hotel reception staff ..your all brilliant and doing a great job during covid.

Dear JOBE41, First and foremost we would like to thank you for taking the time to share your detailed and stellar review. We are very glad to see that you enjoyed your stay not only here with us but in the resort as well. Regarding the pool bar staff being strict, they only follow instructions, as all guests are kindly requested not to consume products not purchased from the hotel, mainly for tax reasons, and we are sorry if this information didn't come through the right way. It is true that due to the pandemic there are many protocols that apply such as limited amount of sunbeds around the pool, a minimum distance of 4 meters (approx. 13 feet) between umbrellas,, no inflatables in the pool, change of linen only upon request etc. Cleopatra Hotels fully comply with all health protocols for the health and safety of all. We also would like to apologise for not being able to cater for gluten free sy. Unfortunately, gluten free cuisine, we do not know well and this is why we prefer not to offer meals for celiacs. We hope that in the very near future we will be better informed and able to offer fantastic meals for this group. We are looking forward to seeing you in your next trip to Kardamena. In the mean time, stay healthy and safe!

We have just returned from this hotel and I must say the pool was fabulous and the snack bar very reasonably priced, nice food and great barman jimbo! He was a star and nothing was too much trouble for him. We were very grateful for the room we had which had a beautiful view of the sea and the mountains. We arrived 1.30 am and check in wasn’t great as the guy on duty was pretty miserable and very regimental and certainly didn’t make us feel very welcome. On our second day we were called at reception where our bed sheets were presented to us and told by staff that there were spots of blood on them and they would have to be cleaned especially and if these spots wouldn’t come out we would have to pay !! We were mortified , embarrassed and furious, we contacted our jet2 rep and she sorted it for us but we still felt uncomfortable about the situation. There were many guests who had bought water from the shop before the bar opened as the temperatures were reaching the mid 40s and there were no fridges in room only a so called cooler which was rubbish. The ‘guest relations manger ‘ woman with long dark hair told guests very rudely that they could not drink or eat anything that was from outside the hotel she even took a bottle of water from a couples sunbed and confiscated it and rowed with the couple around the pool! Our bed sheets and towels were changed two days after we arrived and never again for our 10 day stay , only when we were leaving were we told that a bed/ towel change had to be requested ! The breakfast was at another hotel where a rude member of staff had to serve you with your tea juice toast etc he slammed down down our drinks and shouted to us what did we want , we felt as if we shouldn’t be there he was horrible . We then requested a voucher for the self service breakfast at their beach bar alma which was much nicer but always got told it was full and had to wait 10/15/20 mins each day for the voucher ! It was a nightmare for everyone involved . We ate 1 night at their restaurant where we saw the woman manger down the side of the restaurant warching the staff and even calling them to her and telling them off and what to do . She was very intimidating and rude and we were told that she is known as scary Mary by locals in the village . We also had a card to tell us about the free sunbed and parasol on the beach which we took up 1 day and bought a bottle of water with us only to be told that we weren’t allowed to have it but had to buy from the restaurant for more than double the price from the shop right next door , we didn’t go there again ? We have visited kardamena several times and always heard good things about this hotel
Chain but unfortunately I think something has definitely changed and they will lose a lot
Of custom! I personally will not return to this hotel chain but will definitely be back to the village as we love it .

Thank you for sharing your experience tracyclarkuk and for highlighting our fabulous pool and great, reasonably priced food. It is true that the view from our superior rooms is breathtaking. We are sorry however to hear that some of the aspects of your stay fell far from perfection and we want to assure your that your comments will be taken under serious consideration. We hope you will reconsider and give us a chance to welcome you in the future, if not for a good night's sleep, maybe for a drink at our Bar1960 at the main square of Kardamena or at our restaurant Alma right on the beach.

Title sums it up really, we had a superior side room on one of the higher floors, could see the sea over the rooftops but the views of the scrapped vehicles and used mattresses on the waste ground opposite wasn’t very appealing.
Room was tired, old, basic furniture, hard bed (ask for a mattress topper they make all the difference).
Bathroom felt grotty simply due to age but was clean. Shower dreadful, poor pressure alternating freezing and scalding water. Small half bathtub did offer a better option than having the floor soaking wet though.
Floor drain often stank of vomit (none of us had been Sick)
Room and hotel very clean, good service from maids with fresh bedding and towels every two days.
Air con very expensive but is needed as rooms get ridiculously hot.
Continental breakfast just fine, enough to see you through till lunch.
All staff we met were absolutely lovely - I would imagine that this is why there are many repeat customers, not the hotel itself which could do with an upgrade.
There are so many lovely looking SC places in Kardamena that we probably wouldn’t return to any of the Cleopatra’s unless the price was rock bottom - the lack of kettle and tea making facilities for that first cuppa on the balcony and decent hairdryer (awful wall mounted thing that barely blew) helped with that decision.
Location is great at the quieter end of the resort meant the surrounding area was quiet to sleep, unfortunately the hotel rooms have heavy metal doors that would be slammed by inconsiderate people throughout the night, also maids are around from 7.30am talking loudly so that, coupled by the wind whistling through the corridors doesn’t really result in a restful experience.
Like I say, apart from the staff I cannot understand why people return year after year (some up to 30 years) - there’s so many better, beautiful places to stay. Would I come back? Yes but it would have to be an absolute bargain.

Just returned from two week stay at Cleopatra Superior. We had booked Cleopatra Classic but this didnt open so were notified week before that we were being put in Superior which we didnt think would be a problem based on the reviews. Positives were friendly and helpful staff, nice pool area, comfortable beds and good location. Unfortunately the negatives meant we would not return and would not be comfortable booking Kris Mari or Classic either although couple in next room said the facilities in the rooms were better in the other two sister hotels. We had two main issues - the quality of the bathroom and the so called fridge. This is a 3 star hotel but the shower in particular was worse than 2 star studios we have stayed in. There was a porcelain shower tray but the shower curtain did not look clean and was on some kind of contraption made out of wire. The shower head was cheap and the holder kept falling off the wall. Although hot water was not a problem the bathroom floor was flooded everytime you took a shower. The bathroom also smelt awful even after the cleaner had been in which we put down to the drain in the floor and a lack of ventilation. It was not a 3 star hotel bathroom in our opinion. I specifically emailed in advance to check that the rooms had a fridge because my friend has eye medication which needs to be kept cold. I was told all rooms had a fridge. What we actually had was described by the hotel reception as a 'cooler' but it never seemed to keep anything cool and therefore my friends medication was not as effective as it should have been. We had a few other minor issues about the TV channels and view from the balcony (overlooking waste ground used as carpark) and lack of shade on balcony on afternoon but really it was bathroom and fridge which were the deciding factors about our decision not to return. The couple next door had the same issues so was not just our room. Yes we should have complained but as everyone has had such difficulties getting away this year we didnt have the energy. The Cleopatra Group need to upgrade the bathrooms in Superior (!). Its a shame because we loved Kardamena and will definitely go back but not to Cleopatra Superior and probably not the other two hotels either.

Dear Moira F, First and foremost we would like to thank you for having chosen Cleopatra Collection for your holidays, and for taking the time to share your review. We are glad to hear that our friendly and helpful staff, our nice pool area, comfortable beds and prime location, so close to the beach, bars and restaurants, yet to a quiet part of the village, added to your overall experience. Guests of Cleopatra Collection have the same service and enjoy the same level of hospitality in all our properties, as they are considered to be guests of the group, regardless the property they are allocated into. Therefore they have a choice between 3 swimming pools, 3 pool/snack bars and 3 main bars, while they can use the facilities of any of the properties (ironing room, gym, play rooms etc) freely. This year, our guests could even have their breakfast at our beachfront restaurant Alma, having a spectacular view at the Aegean Sea. Regarding your concerns, it is true that we have no record of any issue reported neither at the front office nor to the guest relations dept, and although we understand your point about not having the energy, all it would take to solve any issue was a simple comment to the reception or the guest relations dept. Both our housekeeping and maintenance teams are practically working around the clock, to prevent issues from occurring or when this happens restore them asap. Nevertheless, all of your comments will be taken under serious consideration and will be discussed internally, to prevent issues like these to reoccur. We really hope that you reconsider a return visit to Cleopatra Collection next time you visit our beautiful resort, and allow us to impress you this time and hopefully win your 5 star seal-of-approval. Best wishes,

Arrived 1st August 2021 for 1 week the room dated but clean the bathroom small the shower curtain was about a foot short and held up with a metal spider arm washing line seen on other balconies the curtain had to be doubled almost to fit the rail so left the cubicle largely uncovered so flooded when in use.
Next morning told to go to the Chrismarie Hotel across the road for breakfast got there at 9:10 am one guy serving so this took a bit time to serve the 3 of us 9:25am asked for another glass of juice but refused as closing at 9:30am, I pointed this out the next morning at reception as requested to go back there when it was already 9:15am I requested a voucher for Almas 5 minutes walk away instead as breakfast was until 10am every morning and it was self service so we found this better although not much choice same as the Chrismarie from then on had problems at reception every morning 9am for a breakfast voucher being told Almas was full this became very annoying as we had no problem when we got there so I had to persist until I got a voucher. I was confronted about this on my last day from the woman with long black hair I took to be a supervisor to staff she said I had been disrespectful to the guy at reception I told her I dont believe that was the case we were requesting our breakfast voucher and had told him day after day if it is full then we would wait around outside but he still kept us waiting all the same, . I told her we had paid over £2,340 for this holiday and we were entitled to our breakfast if they can't cope then they need to extend their breakfast times to accommodate people as more people arriving daily this woman was regularly having issues with complaints from people and was loud and confrontational even to her staff at reception, Also on arrival reception told us clean towels every two days & sheets every three days but did not realise we had to go to reception to request this until the maid informed us. On the positive side the pool area was good & the meals tasty and fairly priced Jimbo the young guy serving was always pleasant & helpful however I would never stay at this hotel again

Thank you for sharing your experience with us C7266CMm and we are sorry to see that it was far from perfect. Covid regulations have altered our normal procedures including housekeeping and breakfast, as we have to make sure that distances are kept, and all measures are taken to prevent further spread of the virus. Unfortunately, this causes some queuing at times to both Kris Mari breakfast area and Beachfront Restaurant Alma were breakfast is also served. We deeply respect our guests and the same is expected of them towards all the staff members. However, we would like to thank you for your positive feedback about our pool area an snack bar and we hope that our prime location, so close to the beach, bars and restaurants, yet to a quiet part of the village, also added to your holiday. We hope you may reconsider and give us the chance to better serve you next time you visit our beautiful resort.

Just arrived back from this hotel with my wife and her cousin and cousins husband. , and will definitely be going back again, as we had a really great time there.
From the moment we arrived at 10.45 pm we were greeted at the reception for check-in by a very very polite and helpful lady, who along with all the other reception
staff were very helpful and polite throughout our 7 days there, I would even go to say nothing was to much trouble for them.
The chap who worked at the pool bar in the evenings was also very happy and helpful as well, and also the lady who worked at pool bar throughout the day as well.
Our room was very nice clean and tidy with a great view of the sea and mountains also, the pool is very nice and very clean to.,as soon as someone left there sunbeds the lady at the pool bar came and sterilised the sunbeds., You can get food all day at the pool bar at reasonable prices to. For breakfast you get a discount voucher for breakfast and evening meals at alma restaurant 3 minutes walk away, which is right next to the beach, and I've got to say the food was really good there to,. I have added some photos of the hotel and pool and alma restaurant.
So I wo recommend this hotel for a great stay.

Not much I can comment on after reading the other reviews about the Cleopatra, I can only reiterate what other have said, it is a good Hotel, in my opinion perhaps not 3 star but 2 star. Staff are really friendly and helpful (Eric the bar man especially, what a character), and the location is really excellent only a couple of minutes walk to the beach front, and all the bars, restaurants, and shops.

The only gripe I have is that it was not mentioned when booking, that a security bond is required for any damage to the room of €100, they need your credit or debit card details, or cash deposit refundable when you leave. Luckily I had my debit card with me which they take a photocopy of, and hopefully have now destroyed.
The additional costs incurred for which I was expecting are for; the tourist tax, safety box and air conditioning, which for the 11 night stay came to €121

As for the rooms, yes they are a bit dated but clean and comfortable, as I always say "it only somewhere to dump our cases and to sleep" . Our room was on the second of three floors 210, at the side looking towards the sea. It had everything we needed, except no tea or coffee facilities (wish we'd packed the travel kettle). It has a TV, hair dryer, safe, aircon, and a mini fridge. The shower in our room was really small approximately 2ft x 2ft and water does go everywhere. The cleaner does come in every day, but only to empty the bins on most occasions, and our towels and bedding where only changed once the entire length of our stay, they are supposed to change them every 3 days.

The only other minor issue I had was with the Half Board status. Its a continental breakfast (from 7.30 - 9.30) which is fine, but if you want a cooked breakfast it's €5 at the sister Hotel next door. The main meal is also at the sister Hotel next door (from 1.30 - 7.30), and if like me you are use to a buffet type self service forget it, its a set menu served to you at your table.
There are 3 types of salad as starters, numerous choices of mains (if your a traditional meat and 2 veg person you'll struggle unless you pay extra for the special menu), and yogurt or dried fruit for desert, drinks are extra. I can understand why they've done it this way as not many people where staying half board, and a lot of food would get wasted. Also be prepared to wait for your meal as it is cooked to order, and one night it was relatively busy for a change, but took 2 hours for our meal. If I come again I will not be HB but self catering.

Overall it was an enjoyable and pleasant stay, but also exhausting due to having to get up early every morning after a late night out, to get a sunbed which are limited. If you can't get a sunbed there are hundreds of free ones on the sea front, owned by the bars and restaurants but you have to buy something regularly from them... Would I come again YES definitely if only for the location alone.

We stayed at this hotel in August and looking at other reviews its doesn't seem like the same hotel we stayed in!The public areas are nice and clean the staff are nice but that's it the bedrooms are basic basic I think it's more of a 1 star hotel the bathroom is terrible the shower is terrible it flooded into the bedroom right across to nearly the balcony!the shower curtain was much to short it was like on arms so we complained the receptionist acted as if this had never happened before I said oh come on this isnt the first time lots of people were saying about it anyway next day they have put another shower curtain on this time 2 foot to long so it blocked up the plug hole we still had to block the door way with a towel. We had to pay for air con €5euros a night as you couldn't leave your door open because of the mosquitoes we had to buy a tin of mosquito spray for the room .Every time we went into the room there was a horrible smell not sure what it was normally at other hotels we have stayed in once the maid has been in the rooms smell lovely but not in this hotel. They do not change your towels or bedding unless you ask you can have towels every 2 day bed linen every 3 days and you have to tell receptionist she checks on the list to make sure your allowed!its a joke never stay in a place like it.The only good thing going for this hotel is its position! It needs knocking down and a new hotel built .Breakfast is in the sister hotel over the square or you can walk to the sea front and have it in there cafe it's not worth bothering with also any discount vouchers the hotel give you are for the cafe and pub they own so it's no deal as they are not as good as all other cafes and restaurants. Would go back to Kardamena but not this hotel.

Response from Cleopatra Guest Realations, Εξυπηρέτηση πελατών/Υποδοχή at Cleopatra Superior Hotel
Responded Sep 22, 2020
Dear colinturner, First and foremost we would like to thank you for having chosen Cleopatra Collection hotels for your holidays. We are very glad you appreciated our prime location so close to the beach, bars and restaurants, yet to a quiet part of the village, our nice clean public areas and friendly staff members. Further to our discussion upon your arrival, we are sorry that you were promised by your agency a different type of room than the one that was actually booked and we understand that this must have been quite frustrating. Regarding your concerns about the rooms in general, we would like to remind you that due to the pandemic there are health protocols that have been imposed, including emptying the rooms of all the items that are not necessary and essential, including bedding decorations, pillows, glasses etc. According to these same protocols, frequent cleaning of the rooms and frequent change of beddings and towels is not allowed, and should only be performed upon the guest’s request. All of the rooms are disinfected daily, so maybe it was the disinfectant that you could smell, although we have no record of any other guest, complaining about a smell in their room as you describe it. Regarding your having to pay for the a/c we are sorry if you were caught off guard, although we try to be very clear throughout all our channels when an extra charge applies as per your agency’s contract with the hotel. We really hope that you will reconsider a return visit under different circumstances and enjoy our famous hospitality, spotless clean rooms and everything the resort has to offer.
