Everything seemed great, staff helpful, friendly. Basic all inclusive food a little repetitive but you expect that. We hired a quad bike, the bike failed and we nearly went off a cliff. I went to reception and told them I needed to go to hospital as I'd sustained injury from the crash. She said she would arrange a car for us. We had platinum insurance so I knew we would be covered in an emergency. The driver took me to a small building which I was told was for paperwork and then I would go to clinic for xray. The wait was long, like in the UK, we gave insurance documents all approved and then they did every test possible.... for a knee injury. ( my concern was internal bleeding- at no point did they xray or altrasound this area. Just every other treatment possible. When I got back to the hotel I was told my insurance doesn't cover private treatment... at no point was I told nor did I ask to be taken to a PRIVATE hospital. The receptionist from earlier then told me all English people are taken to this hospital and their insurance usually covers it. ( I've since found out, insurance doesn't cover private treatment usually, so she either lied and knew it would be of benefit to the private clinic) or she's just rubbish. The bill is not something I can afford and I have no idea why a reasonable doctor would do everything they did. They xrayed my shoulder.... there was nothing wrong with my shoulder. They also told me to say I fell down steps if asked as that was what was on the forms... dodgy! The receptionist then avoided me the rest of our stay and the entire attitude changed there. Lesson learned. Be more self sufficient and trust no-one. Suss out the medical situations and be aware hotels might work in collaboration with private clinics to scam visitors. It's a great location for the turtle hatching just don't rely on the staff to be honest and moral. The attached bill has now landed through my letterbox thanks to the either incompitent or scamming receptionist. - Beach was beautiful though.…

We stayed at The Golden Sun to celebrate our 30th Wedding anniversary in June 2022 . The location of the hotel is great! Very near to the airport so no long hours sitting on a coach. The Hotel complex and pools are a beautiful standard and although our room was small, it and compact, it was clean and had everything we needed. The balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens. We arrived at around 10pm after a latish flight to be greeted by unsmiling, fra kly very rude staff. We was quickly shown to our room and left to it. There was no food laid on which was extremely disappointing so we had to find a bar in the Town. We managed to catch the end of the all-inclusive bar, which we noted drinks in plastic glasses in the evening. Not 4* for a start! The location is fabulous! The beach is a few minutes walk away on the right and the town with bars and shops is on the left. The beach is very long and sandy, and the sea is stunning and very safe. The town is small but enough chice of bars and restaurants to keep us coming back. Pros: The hotel itself is impressive and well laid out. It was spotlessly clean, with a lovely big pool and plenty of sunbeds we used the sunbeds in the gardens as it was quieter here. The gardens are well maintained and for location and overall look of the hotel I would say easily 4 stars. But here are the cons: There is a pool bar which served drinks, toasted sandwiches, rolls, and chips during the day. The chips are nice but the sandwiches were tasteless!! Plastic glasses!!! Everything is served in cheap flimsy plastic glasses day and evening. I've never known a 4* hotel use plastic glasses in the bar areas at night this to me is a definite no no. Food - The quality of the food is okish, I always found something to eat. However the choices are very limited and the desserts were not good. The staff are quick to clear plates and it really did shut down at the time it says. Everything is whipped away so no chance of getting breakfast a minute the time. Alinclusive drinks finish at 11pm which is way too early. By the time you've eaten, and had a walk or watched a rare show at the hotel, the bar is getting ready to close. We would have a walk into the town then come back for the last hour. The bar staff really didn't like us going up for drinks more than once during the hour, they were quick to take our drinks away before we had finished them. They really didn't seem to want us in the bar at night and I had my feet literally mopped by one staff member at 11pm when he was trying to close the bar. Very unfriendly staff!!! A couple of staff members were ok, but most of them never smiled or seemed happy to be there. I found one man in the bar extremely rude and insisted on clearing our table and mopping around us while we were finishing our drinks at 11pm. I noticed he was nice to some other people we sat with but they was giving him tips so that explained it. Entertainment is a no go very limited evening entertainment. We was there at the end of June so quite hight season and there was only 2 shows a week. What we saw was good, but certainly not enough of it. Again, this is designed to keep you out of the bar at night as they really didn't want you having tge all-inclusive drinks. Really feel this hotel could be so much better if they got the all-inclusive right, and employed happier staff who actually enjoyed working there and wanted to look after the guests. We have booked this hotel again next year because the price was right, and its a great base so we will venture out more, but compared to all other 4* all-inclusive hotels its a thumbs down if this is what you are going for. …

Booked this hotel on good reviews unfortunately major disappointment. On the plus side staff brilliant, yanis on bar duty fantastic and got involved with guests. Made the holiday. Restaurant food really disappointed food tepid, very disorganised had to walk one end cereal etc then back for milk drinks etc. I ate bits over the fortnight. Unfortunately won't be returning this hotel due to lots of things could be improved on.

The hotel itself is lovely and very clean. We were really impressed with the room and pleasantly surprised to have an actual double bed instead of two singles pushed together. The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review, is due to the food. We went all inclusive and the food choices were terrible. We ate out majority of our holiday which obviously defeats the object of going all inclusive. The pool area is lovely but the pool is freezing! Anna from reception is lovely and very professional. Our room was cleaned daily and we were given clean towels daily too.

It’s the little things that make a holiday. Just finished a two weeks break until 19th Oct. Room 309 facing the pool There have been negative comments posted but totally not correct. There are a bit of agenda issues with these comments towards the hotel that are totally unfounded. In the room a lovely welcome card from the management plus a bottle of wine, free safe, free wi-fi secured, consent hot water towels changed daily and sheets every over day air conditioning either hot or cold . Would advise to take a small extension to give extra points for chargers etc. Yes the pool is cold it is October but cleaned every night, plenty of loungers for this time of year, Pool bar. You will receive excellent service from the member of staff, work hard and do talk to you as an asset to the hotel hoping she is back next year. Entertainment 2 nights only each week so make your own entertainment ot head up to the strip, met some lovely couples to talk to, all friendly. Restaurant There is a difference of opinion with the food, all is fine out of 42 sittings we only ate out twice, good choice plenty to pick from, the hotel has the right balance of cooked , salads and desserts. All the Staff. From reception to the bar staff and cleaners all were a credit to the hotel all friendly, happy to talk to lets hope they all return in May when the hotel reopens. Overall Well worth booking for relaxing days at the beach and around the pool, peaceful nights and good food take the negative comments with a pinch of salt, happy to answer any questions just inbox me Tip take some coat hangers!!…

Great hotel 2 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from the main Kalamaki strip , rooms are OK staff are brilliant but the best part was the food absolutely superb the pool area was quite busy but the beach is good value 10 euros for 2 sunbeds and umbrella I will definitely return to this hotel in the future

We're on our last day, sadly, and it's a bit rainy but we've had a great time here. Staff are gorgeous and especially the lady on the pool bar. Taught me a bit more Greek. Pool area nice and water cool. Clean and comfy rooms. Drinks are fine and food was nice, very tasty. Lovely beach just a few yards away. We hired a couple of pedoloes and it was just amazing drifting on the sea. Not much in the way of evening entertainment at the moment but plenty going on at the bars on the strip. Had a couple of great nights at the Atonis pool bar and they give you a free lift home. Had another great night at the Shamrock bar. Highly recommended.

In general the hotel itself is ok and the location is lovely but the food was poor and the pool was freezing to the point you couldn’t get in. The lady on the snack bar and the barman were the only polite and friendly staff. Towards the end of the holiday we realised my partners shirt had been taken from the wardrobe. We reported to reception and they did nothing about it and we’re just adamant it hadn’t been stolen when it was obvious it had been. We also had a staff member trying to take cigarettes when we weren’t looking. Rooms were clean but beds were uncomfortable and separated The restaurants in Kalamaki were lovely and I’d recommend staying in Kalamaki just not in this hotel. Overall the hotel was nice and the area but the staff are unprofessional!

I know some people have paid more to stay here, but we had such a fantastic deal it feels like a steal. The staff are wonderful, the hotel is clean and well presented. The pool area is lovely and you are literally on the beach. The barman Yannis is so lovely and tried to improve my limited Greek. Yes the all inclusive alcohol isn’t amazing, but you get what you pay for! The food was also some of the best I have had (I stayed at a 5* resort in the Dominican and honestly think the food here was better) Our room was lovely and cleaned every day. My only suggestion would be changing the single use plastic cups to re-useable cups (thinking of the turtles!) otherwise this hotel is wonderful and I would recommend in a heart beat.

Stayed at this hotel in fact we are still here at the moment. Good loacation about 5 mins to beach, hotel room was lovely but bring your own coat hangers we had 4 in room but knew to bring some of our own by friends. Bathroom is not very safe you have a shower and floor is covered in water so you have no chance doing your hair or anything as the mirror is in bathroom. It will take me absolutely ages to point out faults in this hotel there are so many food not edible absolutely disgusting we ate twice in restaurant in all the time we were there it was just so bad. We had breakfast every morning but just not good carrots, chips for breakfast really Food was cold most of the time choice of sweets etc well there was no choice. Drinks watered down and had to pay for spirits even local make. Cocktails was limited and watered down too. I paid extra for holiday as had to pay a supplement for my granddaughter having her own room which we didn’t mind but for what we spent for our stay then having to pay extra for food and drinks was shocking. Pool was freezing sunbeds far too low especially when you have problems with knees etc. would we stay here again definitely not would we recommend this hotel definitely not…
