Amazing stuff and beautiful hotel, close to the beach , we stayed for 1 week which was short but we will totally come back next year because we felt in love with the stuff of the hotel which were really friendly and made us feel very good . Food was really delicious and very traditional greek. The stuff from the bar always smile and give you shots which was really funny . Of course everyone is like a family there so you will see them happy all the time , it s giving you the feeling of love and they really like working. Reception it's always helpful for advice if you look where to go on the island and they are also very funny they will do jokes and make you laugh. Room are cleaned always and the ladys from the cleaning were really quiet and nice so if we slept more they would have come later which we really appreciated. During day time we enjoyed the pool along with the many cocktails we had . Overall really felt good and we already booked for next year. Thank you Venus!

This was our first visit to the Hotel Venus ( although we have stayed in Kalamaki before ) I travelled from Leeds with my Wife and my parents in law.
The location is extremely good with the main strip and Kalamaki "Turtle" beach just a 5 min walk away.
We stayed for 14 nights with breakfast. The breakfast was this year a buffet affair but to a good standard.
We were very impressed from the start as the reception staff and hotel staff in general are very helpful. Spiro, and Harry and Dennis behind the bar were superb and knowledgeable about the whole area, great to chat to over cocktails in the evening. My Wife's favourite cocktail was the "Snicker Licker" Yamas!!
We stayed in room 300, this has quite a large balcony, it has views of both the main pool and the adult pool and amazing sea views also!
My in laws were so impressed they asked about the possibility of staying a further week which Spiro and the hotel sorted for them without any fuss!
The hotel is clean and the pools are clean, the staff are very, very good, couldnt fault the place a brilliant holiday!.

My review of the Venus is :- The rooms are small & basic but clean. The maid service is excellent. Cleaned daily with clean towels ever day 10/10 The breakfast is nice, but does get repetitive after a fortnight and because it was the height of season it can feel like eating in a greenhouse in the restaurant. The pool areas are good with usually sunbeds available ( But there is the early morning towel on a sunbed brigade especially in the adult pool area). The bar is staffed by some excellent lads who bend over backwards to please. I think that is what made are stay so nice. The entire working staff. Can not do enough for you !!
But now the issues unfortunately.
The owners of the hotel are now running a wedding venue business, which seems to be growing. So when a wedding is booked that day. The adult pool falls into the wedding venue area. So at certain times of the day you will have to move from the adult pool. Which can then make the main pool area very busy with shortages of sunbeds. And this happened on 4 occasions during our stay. So how Jet2 or the owners can advertise the hotel has a adult pool. when a wedding happens this amenity is withdrawn is not on !
What also as never been mentioned by anyone previously is. That due to covid, when British tourist were not allowed to visit. The Hotel started up with a Dutch company offering an all inclusive package for their guests. So approximately half is not more are people on a all inclusive package.

Just returned from a nine night stay at the Venus hotel Kalamaki. This isn’t our first stay here but we haven’t been for a couple of years due to covid. On the whole it’s a nice hotel and always has been. However, on this stay we found that standards had slipped in certain areas. The adult pool was closed on 2 separate occasions during our stay for weddings. I brought this up with the Jet2 rep when she visited who then questioned the manager regarding this. The manager (Spiros) went on the defensive and argued about this saying that it stated clearly on his website that the adult pool is closed when weddings are taking place. However, this was not stated on the Jet2 website at the time of our booking. As 2 adults with no children we wanted the relaxing peaceful environment that the adult pool offered so found this disappointing.
To add insult to injury, on the day before the adult pool was due to close for the second time workmen were hammering and drilling on the pagoda making preparations for the wedding the next day. Again disturbing our peace. This could have been done when the pool closed later in the day!
The cleanliness of the pool area wasn’t as good as previous years with very little cleaning taking place. The bin at the side of the pool wasn’t emptied in the first week of our holiday. The air conditioning in the rooms wasn’t cold and we weren’t the only guests to notice this. There was no air conditioning in the dining room even though the hotel website stated ‘a fully air conditioned dining room’. This was also made worse by the entire wall of bi-folding doors being open constantly, making the breakfast dining experience extremely uncomfortable. The doors being left open also encouraged wasps and flies around the buffet area and birds flying around the room and landing on the tables and chairs. Our room had a broken shelf where the fridge sat, so that every time we tried to open the drawer below the fridge the entire fridge started to fall off. There was a broken glass pane on the raised walk way (bridge) to the dining room which for safety reasons really should be replaced.
We didn’t complain to the hotel regarding any of these issues because after bringing up the issue regarding the closure of the adult pool I felt uncomfortable and intimidated by the manager and didn’t feel anything would be resolved. As a result of all this I won’t be booking to stay at the Venus again in the future. I don’t believe it is a 4 star hotel and the hospitality within this hotel is unwelcoming and very untypical of Greece.

Thank you Mare for taking the time to leave your review and for your kind comment regarding that the Venus is a nice hotel and always has been! The Venus family are very gratefull that you visited us again! As you know since the last time you came, the Venus Gardens has always done Weddings & Events and we are mentioning that is closed during events in our web site, the lounge, reception and of course their is a sign hunging at our Wedding area. Our Venus Gardens was created few years ago prior for the events and it is given to our Hotel's guests when it is available. The manager was trying to make it clear about the Venus Gardens programme and he wasn't meant to be offensive as you mentioned! Our main pool is in front of the hotel and it is always open serving delicious Snacks and Cocktails. Both of our swimming pool areas get cleaned daily and it is reasonable that the garbage bins will be filled up because of the high demand at the end of the day! You will always find them in the morning fresh and cleaned. Regarding the issue you had with the air conditioning, we have the most and latest efficient air condition system which works perfectly and it supports all the rooms and we never had any complaints about it. We are wondering why you never mentioned it to us at your last visit!!! Thank you for the positive comment regarding our hotel and we hope if you ever visit Zakynthos again, you would consider staying with us once more!

We have just returned from our third stay this year after staying in June and September. We have been returning guests for many years now and each time we return reinforces why we choose to stay at the Venus, it really has everything we look for in a holiday.

The new pool and surrounding areas are great and the sun loungers so comfortable. As always it’s extremely clean and tidy.

The breakfast room is so light and airy with a large range of food to choose from and good coffee, an essential for me. We don’t eat breakfast everyday but when we did we enjoyed it. Other days we ate lunch from the snack bar menu. Again, a good selection from a simple toastie to something more substantial. My favourites were the toasties, scrambled eggs, omelettes and a shared club sandwich. The bar area at night has a lovely atmosphere and we always had drinks there late in the evening.

We had 3 different rooms this year and each one was comfortable and sparkling clean. Love the walk in showers and of course those very comfortable beds. On our last visit we were in a suite which was lovely with a huge walk in shower and a comfortable lounge area. The outside decking area was good as we like to be outside when its warm and October was certainly nice and warm even late at night and early in the morning.

Last but certainly not least the stars of this hotel are the staff, always smiling, happy to help and keeping everywhere clean and tidy. Each and everyone of them work so very hard to make sure all guests are well looked after. I shall miss the cheery kalimera as staff arrived to start their day while I sat on the deck with my early morning coffee.

Its been a while since we stayed in October and what a perfect week it was. The hotel was quieter this late in the season so it was nice to sit, chat and just relax. We really found it hard to leave and wished we had booked the final week of the season too.

We booked our holiday with Jet 2 thinking we were staying at a 4* hotel sadly this was not the case.when we got dropped off at the hotel the walkway to reception was not very clean. The receptionist told us our room was up the 1st flight of stairs alas no lift. The room was very small when we asked if there was a bigger room we were told all the deluxe rooms are the same, we was also told we had to pay 30e room tax and this had to be paid in cash. We had trouble with our key card to the room it wouldn’t lock after numerous visit to reception and a visit from maintenance we ended up with a key to lock the door. The adult pool was closed for five days out of our 10 day holiday due to two weddings taking place in the wedding venue. The surrounding areas
had lost of rubbish , old solar panels and building materials also a Bin overflowing with used toilet paper. The window on the landing looked as it it had never been cleaned. The fire door at the top of the stairs was held back by a piece of wire so would never have closed if there was a fire. The last but two days of holiday we went back to our room and none of the electric was working more visit to reception after trying to get it to work was told we would have to move rooms and would you believe it this rooms was much bigger than the one we were staying in. We was also told we had to pay 40e for a safe when we went back to pay we was told it would be 30 e also 5e each for pool towels. The breakfast room was so hot we had to eat our breakfast in the outside bar area. This is definitely not a 4* hotel .

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay at Hotel Venus in Zakynthos. We appreciate all feedback from our guests, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve and provide an even better experience! Regarding your cleaning issue for the reception walkway it is totally unacceptable! Our Cleaning maids work really hard and always keep all our facilities super clean, especially your room which you never mentioned! We are a bit confused about your booking you have made with us before you come! We don’t mention anywhere that we have a lift, all our deluxe rooms are the same, in the MyJet2 web site it clearly mentions that the safes are extra charge, the government’s nightly tax is for everyone and has to be paid in cash by the law upon arrival, our Venus gardens pool was created 5 years ago prior for the Wedding events and when it is available can be used for our guests( it is clearly been mentioned in our web site, we have signs all around the reception area and in the MyJet2 web site). About your electrical issue and your key card, our receptionist was very very helpful, he found a solution immediately and transferred you right across from your room to another room (you didnt have to move your belongings) for the night and the problem was solved exactly the next day. Our Fire alarm system is working perfectly fine, MyJet2 representatives always examine it every year! The back side of the hotel where the solar panels are, is only for the truck delivery services and the garbage pick up trucks (the reason why you saw garbage). We would be very grateful if you came to us and told us your personal issues, so we can provide to you the best holidays we can and give an answer to your complaints. The Hotel Venus is 4 star hotel! Next time you visit another destination it would be very helpful for you to read all the facilities a resort provides so you can have a pleasant stay!

Only a short stay en-route to Kefalonia but the staff were very helpful in planning our island hopping trip and couldn't do enough for us during our stay.

From our first contact at reception, to bar staff, cleaners and breakfast staff, everyone was welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Our room was perfect. We love the bathroom and the beds are the best we've experienced abroad. We had a room overlooking Mt. Skopos which was perfect for watching the sunrise in the morning yet cool at the end of a scorching day.

Breakfast has a great variety of hot and cold food, juices, toast, tea and coffee and there is always service with a smile.

The rooms, public areas and pool are kept immaculately clean.

FAB short break and we look forward to staying here again.

Great hotel to stay staff very friendly cannot do enough for the guest
Rooms are very spacious with extra large beds. Air condition is included in the price which was a blessing considering how hot it was. Clean towels every day and bed lining changed regular
Clean and tidy bar and pool areas.
Plenty to choose from at breakfast English and continental
We had booked there for our daughters wedding. It was outstanding service
from all the staff at the hotel with first class food .The setting for the wedding was ideal with a sit down buffet in the air condition area. I would recommend any body who requires to get married abroad this is a first class place to get married. Thank you all at The Venus Hotel for making the wedding such a splendid day and not to be forgotten.

As some have written here, the hotel cheats with reservations. I had reserved it for 2 months and a week before our stay they sent a message about the cancellation of the reservation due to the security reasons of the payment card. We tried to negotiate another payment card or direct payment by phone, but they dont care. I wasn't even answered by email. We have a two-year-old child and we have not found adequate accommodation. I do not believe the reason for the cancellation, because the hotel was completely occupied. Plus, we've never had a problem with the card, not even in Asia. The next reservation was also without complications and the money left immediately. I strongly do not recommend!

Unfortunately this suspected guest supplied a card that was not valid from our end. Due to alot of credit issues which was probably caused from the pandemic created a world financial crisis from which we have experienced situations where the guests couldn't supply the funds. The travel indusrty has been hard and hotels all over the world need to cope with this situation so therefore we need to be extra cautious. This review has no substantial evidence and it's not based on the experience of the guest while staying at our hotel. Therefore this review has no credibility.

Having stayed at other hotels in Kalamaki in the past i think it only fair to compare, we are not ones to constantly return to the same hotel, its good to spread the custom around and try different hotels.
For us the positives - Great location. Brilliant staff. Excellent adult only pool area when available. Breakfast with so much choice and all freshly topped up.

Negatives - Room, bed is not king size but 2 singles pushed together with the most uncomfortable gap in-between, minimal water pressure in the bathroom just a trickle most days. The main pool had filthy tiles and glass surround and loads of dirt at the bottom, it was not cleaned once in the 2 weeks we stayed. Windows in the public areas were filthy. The bar food menu was quite limited.
Overall, we made the most of it and luckily the adult pool was only unavailable to us 2 days of our stay but stayed down on the beach on those days. If it had been closed for the duration i think we would have checked out.
They did seem to concentrate everything on the venue are where the adult pool is situated hence it being so nice and clean but it meant not looking after the main hotel so much.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and for your kind comment regarding that the Venus has a great location, our staff are brilliant, excellent adult only pool area , our breakfast has a lot of choice and freshly topped up! About your negatives we will have to disagree with you with some points you have mentioned and it would be great if you had mentioned them to us during your stay so we could have given you a better holiday experience with us. Our Coco Mat beds are KING SIZE with soft memory foam matress and you have the best quality sleep. Please check our 1229 positive reviews to clarify! You will always find both or our swimming pool areas fresh and cleaned daily! Unfortunately during of the big thunderstorm we had during your stay it was hard to maintain them and as soon it went by we managed to clean them. Its not possible to control nature! The Venus Gardens swimming pool was created 5 years ago prior for the events and it is given to our guests when it is available. Our hotels main pool is in the front. Our "SNACK BAR" menu is not consider to be limited, we are offering freshly cooked English breakfast, Scramble Eggs, Pancakes, Chicken wings, Mozzarella sticks, Salads, Pizzas, Omeletes, Burgers, Club Sandwich, Grilled Chicken, Gyro pita, chicken nuggets and many many more! Everything according to your satisfaction. Thank you for the positive comments regarding our hotel and we hope if you ever visit Zakynthos again you would be consider staying with us once more!
