Based on a recommendation from a friend that stayed here previously, my husband and I booked a room for the one night we were staying in Guadalajara. The location is ideal for walking around the Tlaquepaque area, it’s incredibly safe and secure, and an absolutely beautiful boutique hotel. The hotel has so much character through the entire hotel, every corner meticulously decorated with local art. The rooms are air conditioned and a yummy breakfast is included in a night stay. While it’s very unassuming outside, the moment you walk in the door you’ll be transported into pure serenity. A must stay!

My friend and I wanted to visit the Guadalajara area for 5 days and we are so glad we stayed our first 3 nights at the Quinta Don Jose hotel! It’s a GORGEOUS property consisting old Mexican charm, has an award winning restaurant, great bar and delicious breakfasts that are included with your stay. The breakfast is muffins or toast, fruit, fresh squeezed OJ, and coffee or tea. Also an extensive breakfast menu with very affordable prices and some of the best eggs Benedict I’ve had. The staff is very professional and accommodating to your every need. They even sent a car to pick us up at the airport at no charge. The location is EXCELLENT. Only a block away from the Parian and all the shops and restaurants on Independencia. Great water pressure, hot water that came fast, and comfortable rooms with good lighting. I would definitely stay again!

Quinta don José has a special place In our heart. We liked the photos from the website but the moment we stepped into that garden and pool area we were blown away. This property feels like Disney for adults, the attention to detail is amazing. We ate breakfast on the property everyday of the 4 days we were there and it never disappoints. The staff is attentive and friendly, the grounds are gorgeous And the neighborhood is awesome and felt extremely safe. We look forward to being able to come back and stay at this property♥️

2 seniors travelling by car in Mexico. Stayed 2 nights in Feb. Rooms to front of hotel have extreme road noise especially starting very early morning and not suitable for a somewhat light sleeper. Never cleaned behind bathroom door. Asked for a change they wanted more money but then graciously gave us a more suitable and quieter room. Restaurant which had a good rating struggled horribly and in fact the worst evening meal we had for a week. We were one of only 3 tables there. Tortilla soup was nothing but bland tomato soup, and delivered cool so had to be sent back to heat. Was told skillet very hot under lasagna but the meal was cold and skillet not even warm. That and a chicken meal had to be sent back and then chicken was over cooked. Lava brownie cold, but at least ice cream was correct. Second day breakfast busier so forgot orange juice and muffins. Staff are gracious, friendly and couldn’t do enough but that is where it ends. Parking was secure and easy to get into. Location is good for Tlaquepaque and Tonala but taxis are cheap so could stay anywhere within reason of destination.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, and it was a wonderful experience. The location is perfect, the grounds are airy and colorful with fountains and art all over plus a great restaurant and bar as well as a nice swimming pool surrounded by greenery and flowers. The attention from the front desk and the bar/restaurant service are excellent. They took care of all my needs, including a tour to Ajijic with a great guide and the Covid test at the hotel! I strongly recommend this place if you go to Tlaquepaque or even if you want to visit Guadalajara as it is only 25 minutes away and a taxi from the hotel only costs about $6!

Quinta Don Jose has become my home away from home. They have charming rooms and public areas, excellent customer service and secure parking. The location cannot be beat, just 1 block from the main square, El Parian and Calle Independencia, the main shopping and design street of Tlaquepaque.

This was my third stay at QDJ. The staff is helpful and very friendly. It's proximity to Tlaquepaque makes it an excellent choice for those shopping in the area. It is very quaint Old World Mexico. They even have pickup service at the airport for a nominal fee.

Located in the heart of Tlaquepaque and just two blocks away from El Parian, it is the perfect location for walking along one of the most beautiful areas in Guadalajara. The hotel itself is beautiful, impeccably clean, fabulous amenities including an in-room water cooler, and I can't say enough good things about the staff, everyone is so incredibly friendly and helpful, it truly felt like a home away from home. The included breakfast was far from the typical continental breakfast, there were several options and it was amazing, I had the huevos rancheros, choices were very traditionally Mexican, delicious! The bartender, Charly, was incredibly friendly, welcoming and makes a stiff drink! :) Overall, highly recommended!!!

This is a charming hotel with fantastic service and a restaurant that serves delicious food. The rooms are nicely decorated and most have a small patio or balcony off them, the poolside rooms look the nicest and surely are the quietest. Again, the staff is outstanding in service and step out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. The pool was not heated but rather a refreshing plunge!

We always stay at QDJ when going to Guadalajara The location of the hotel is excellent as its within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and museums in Tlaquepaque. The property itself is beautiful and very well maintained. The gardens are lovely and the bar area is a wonderful place to stop and unwind after a busy day out and about. Without a doubt the best thing about QDJ is the staff. They are so friendly, helpful and professional. It's a pleasure to return each time and to see them.
