Average, expensive linen and cheap/worn beds that could use replacing. Hospitality lacking, seems like there is a lack of interest. Its a pity as it has good views, tidy rooms and a decent location. The room manual could do with a spell check.

We really enjoyed staying here. We were made to feel welcome and would definitely stay again. The complex was clean and tidy. The room was comfortable, clean and inviting. Shower pressure was good. The TV was small however. A lovely place to stay.

We stayed overnight in a modern unit with ensuite and it was a great place to relax after driving from Opononi. Our unit was clean and tidy with excellent facilities. The manager was friendly and obliging and supplied us with a portable bed for our 7yr old son who had a great time in the swimming pool. We had a... More

The hotel was great, the host was very personable. He was great to talk to and gave us some tips about the area. The hotel is close to the beach and has a great view of the sunsets. The location is secluded, and its very quiet.

The large room was clean, well equipped, attractively furnished with balcony overlooking the swimming pool and ocean views. We had comfortable armchairs and good lighting and a balcony looking over to the sea.

This accommodation provides nice clean and comfortable rooms with breakfast included. Our room had a nice private balcony area as well. It is in a good location and the host was most helpful and considerate. We would thoroughly recommend Sunset View Lodge!

Standard room to expect at this pricing level. Clean, spacious with a nice view. Heated swimming pool a plus. Breakfast is as listed available til 10 A. M. Packaged muffins, yogurt and jams all very good. Fresh fruit available along with an honor bar for drinks which was a nice and friendly gesture. Service was acceptable, notable only in that... More

Were welcomed and shown to our room. Had a cooling dip in the pool. Would have appreciated a shade over the balcony as the sun was very hot. A lovely Continental breakfast was waiting for us in the guest room. As we had had lunch at Funky Fish it would have been nice to have been able to take over... More

The secret may be on the Street sign " Motel type Rooms". However it was advertised as with "free Breakfast" At $185 it is very expensive for Dargaville. The place is modern and the rooms similar in size to Motel/hotel rooms in New Zealand. The heated swimming pool was about 32c so very warm for this time of year. The... More

Lovely place to relax and let the world drift by. Pam was great. We booked the wrong room but she changed it no problem. Room next to the pool, hop out of bed into the pool....if it wasn't for the cover. Restaurant around the corner (5-10 minute walk), the Funky Fish, was OK. Great burgers and wedges at Sharkys, even... More
