We weren't expecting nearly the quality of the meal when our hotel recommended this place for dinner, especially since it appears to be in the middle of nowhere. But everything was really really good, from the white tablecloth service to the diversity of the food. Fois gras was a lovely starter, a special of sweetbreads and veal kidneys in a... More

We stayed here for one night on our way back from a holiday in Bordeaux. We'd previously stayed for 3 nights for our 40th Wedding Anniversary and this second visit did not disappoint. We stayed in a Deluxe Double Bedroom (Room No 43) which was spacious, comfortable and very well presented. The En-suite was again spacious and very clean and... More

The hotel is somewhat unfortunately set between a main road and a railway line but was surprisingly quiet. The room was pleasant, slightly basic but faced the garden and had a nice seating area. The restaurant was superb, great quality dishes with just the right amount of creative flair. A definite hotel hotel for us when we are next in... More

We stayed at the Auberge overnight on our return home to UK from the Dordogne . A delightfully quiet rural setting in which to recover from a day's driving. Very comfortable bed, nice room and a good shower. The star of the stay has to be the restaurant, excellent food, good service, and an extensive well thought out wine list... More

we stopped here for two nights on our way back to the ferry, now this was a real find, its position makes it ideal for exploring the area of the Loire around Amboise with its great chateau. the room was very comfortable with a large bed and shower all very clean, outside a seating area with your own table and... We reserved a superior room but got a small room that did not fit the description in booking.com where they advertise a non-existent balcony and seating area. We complained, but the manager/owner claimed that was the right room. we definitely got a room inferior to the one we paid for and with a lot less space. The back of the... More

Last week we had 2 delicious evening meals at this popular hotel restaurant, we booked in advance because it is so good and difficult to get in to. The format has changed slightly in so much that it is a nouvelle cuisine menu now, having said that, it is well worth trying and when we go to the Loire again... More

Our weeklong stay here was very enjoyable. We chose the location to enable day trips in the Loire Valley and it was a perfect choice. Our nonsmoking "double deluxe" room had an extremely comfortable bed and up-to-date bathroom, kept spotlessly clean. The gardens are attractive for relaxing, but it was too cold for this experience in April! Owners are most... More

My wife and I were guests here a few years ago and wanted to return to this small hotel. We like it because Limeray is very close to the sites we wanted to visit. Our second story room overlooked the garden area. The room was nicely furnished and had a nice firm bed. We enjoy the food here also.

If your European fantasies include staying in chateaus, farmhouses, small inns, the Auberge De Launay fills the farmhouse bill. Fifteen rooms surround a sweet garden which would have been fun to enjoy but unfortunately we were there on rainy days. Nonetheless, the hotel serves a bountiful breakfast in a fireplace-warmed dining room and elegant dinners. Owners have fine-dining experience and... More
