We stayed in this hotel for two nights during a round trip on Madagascar. It is situated close to the centre of Ambositra and it is quite charming. The design features the rich wooden carvings of the Zafimaniry, the local people. Their arty tradition of carving wood has been listed with the UNESCO world heritage. The rooms are situated in... The hotel was fitting its name, the rooms were cutely decorated with local crafts and woodwork. We were unfortunately given what appeared the worst room (#1) which didn't have a great outlook and was above the restaurant. When I asked to change (as they were only about 40% full) the reception staff were unhelpful. The male staff were really pleasant... More

The setting is charming; and the owner's other business - - the woodcarving workshop that is offered as a tour - are on display throughout. Rooms are basic, as earlier reviewer CKF mention - with free wifi - but it's probably not a place that you would want to stay more than a single night. The restaurant was equally charming;... More

A few smiles from staff wouldn't go amiss. There is rarely anyone at reception. When we checked in, had to wander around the property trying to find someone. Two later visits to reception to ask for info were pointless as again, nobody was there. The wifi was temperamental, not working at all in the evening but fine in he the... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night during a tour of Madagascar. At first glance, it looks like a charming property, and it is certainly clean and well run. However, we found the front desk to be only mildly interested in our arrival. We were ready to shake this off, but had a similar reception from the waitress... More

I spent some nights in this hotel and it wasn't good idea. Not comfortable bed, too hot, without hot water on shower. Breakfast in a good level. Nice, fresh food. Very helpful staff. Really nice local music during the dinner. Very beautiful surrounding.

This place is very beautiful! My husband and I stayed one night in one of the big bungalows and we're happy with it. The good: - Wifi at reception and restaurant - 24 hour electricity - Very clean. Maybe the cleanest place with stayed in all of Madagascar - The towels and sheets were in good condition - The hotel... More

Stayed here one night on a tour thru Madagascar recently. Our driver got lost finding the place. Gated and secure, but I wouldn't say comfortable. Our bungalow was stuffy and hadn't been aired out recently. No air conditioning made for a very hot and restless night. No safe in the rooms. Hotel staff was great and the restaurant was good.... We stopped here for lunch only and sat at one of the tables outside because of the fresh breeze. It felt like an oasis among a busy town and it was a welcome relief from a full-days drive. I loved the decor inside the restaurant, especially the wooden chairs! Would love to be able to bring back a whole set... More

We spent one night in a bungalow and found it to be comfortable and clean. The dark wood interior was cozy but also gave the place a very dark feel (the lack of big windows didn't help). Also, there were no mosquito nets and the roof was far to high to hang your own. This didn't cause us much trouble... More
