We stayed here for four nights on a Shearings coach tour for the Christmas markets. Our room was on the top floor so the lift helped, it was very clean and the beds were really comfy, with those lovely squashy square pillows. The staff were exceptionally cheerful and friendly, dressing in national costume to serve our meals (breakfast was a...

Very nice hotel. Staff so friendly, food was very nice good meals every night, free entertainment for 3 nights not on the agenda but well appreciated, Room was so clean bit noisy with either traffic or church bells but only early in the morning. Free pass for bus/train and maps so journey to Zell was within easy reach. Serving girls...

Comfortable room ( with useful safe ). nice buffet breakfast but only average evening meals. One very professional attentive waitress and another who appeared somewhat less interested. The village church is across the road and has very loud bells especially at 6.00 in the morning ! Traffic is heavy and loud(at night) for a small village mainly affecting rooms at...

Hotel itself comfortable and clean, food could be improved - particularly for vegetarians! - and have experienced better customer service. It is however situated in a good position to tour the surrounding Black Forest area

heartily welcommed when checked in. Staff allover friendly. Always good informations on where to go and what to do. A typical lovely black forest hotel in a small village, surrounded by valleys and hills. If you have a car it is the ideal point to start a roundtrip through the black forest with Triberg and Titisee or visit Straßbourg or...

Went to this hotel with a well known coach company, the dining room was a typical Black Forest restaurant, carved wood etc. Table laid out nicely, but the food was at times really awful, too salty and very strange combinations, mainly pasta and rice with whatever was served. One day we had breaded fish which looked and tasted that it...

This holiday to the black forest over Christmas, travelling with Shearings coach holidays, had its highs and lows. Starting out at 6.30 am, it takes the best part of 1 1/2 days to reach your destination from Worcester but it does include a stop over in Lille France. The hotel and food here were first rate. Then you have a...

Our room was 641. It got the evening sunlight and so was light and airy, but had no balcony and was overlooking the road with a busy corner. The storage area was excellent, with drawers, shelving and 2 wardrobes. The bed was cosy, large and comfortable, but the lighting, when the sun had set, was too dim to allow easy reading. Despite...

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel as certain of the reviews were not too complimentary. We were part of a coach tour from Aberdeenshire, and all were accommodated in the annex, on the opposite side of the rad to the main hotel building and beer garden. Rooms were very clean and tidy, well serviced daily, and the soap lasted...
