Margarita hotel is an All Inclusive, family-friendly hotel in the resort town of Laganas, on the south east coast of the Greek island of Zante. Laganas beach is a short walk from the hotel and here you'll find long stretches of sand with views over the island's mountainous landscape. The hotel has a traditional Mediterranean design, with whitewashed walls, red roof tiling and pops of colour in the architecture. It's surrounded by palm trees and other greenery. The hotel has an outdoor pool area where you can swim or relax with a drink from the nearby pool bar. If you like to be active on holiday, you can join an aqua aerobics session in the pool. When it's time to eat, the buffet restaurant offers a selection of local and international cuisine. There are two bars that serve cocktails, wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks, as well as light snacks during the day. Entertainment is regularly organised by the hotel and includes games, quizzes and karaoke nights. The centre of Laganas is within walking distance of Margarita and is home to restaurants, bars and shops that you can explore. There's a number of popular trails across the island where you can take in the views over Zante's natural scenery. You can also go on a short drive to the island's capital, Zakynthos Town, where you can experience a range of museums, cafés and tavernas as well as a bustling nightlife scene.

Margarita Hotel is celebrated for its inviting beds and contemporary aesthetic, with travelers often highlighting the hotel's remarkable cleanliness across its spotless rooms and well-maintained pools. While the modern rooms and the vibrant evening music contribute to an enjoyable atmosphere, families may find the nocturnal revelries a bit intrusive. The array of pools and the quality of food and drinks receive appreciation, yet the entertainment offerings and room amenities could see some enhancement. Service at Margarita Hotel is consistently commended for its friendliness and efficiency, adding value to a luxury experience that guests regard as well worth the cost despite occasional remarks about extra taxes.

Spent a week here and serviced by friendly staff that tried to accomadate all requests. The hotel is clean, small and tucked away from the chaos of laganas. Although limited entertainment due to covid, the bar served till 1130 and free pool table available. My children loved the pool area, which had a shallow end. Infact tearing them away was virtually impossible. All 3 of us loved the food although there wasnt a massive selection, it was quality and always found something to eat. Fruit and salads were consistently fresh .We had room 130 and on request was given a kettle, the room consisted of 2 sleeping areas ideal for a family of 4, and regularly cleaned. Equipped with a small fridge, ideal for storing water, or lotions etc staff really are lovely here and i would highly recommend anyone looking for a smaller hotel and a reasonable cost defo consider booking here! There is something for everyone, thank you hotel margarita for such a pleasant stay

Returned from a week at this hotel on 15th Sept. Mainly it was quite good but let down by the accommodation. Our room was really small and the bed was way too soft. The bathroom had no ventilation, so after a shower the door had to left open to air the room, The balcony was open for the to the rooms either side so if one was smoking everyone got the smoke. There was noise coming from the Laganas strip at night.
All that said the hotel was spotless,
I cannot understand when previous reviews moaned about the staff, I have to say that everyone of the staff I came across were really lovely and attentive. The best I have seen in any hotel,
Food and drink..The food was varied, well cooked and hot with loads of fresh veg. A lot of the veg comes from its own organic fields and you can taste it. The beer was OK but the wine was rough.
The adults only pool was spotless and no problem with sunbeds, a little bit of noise from the road but not enough to put you off sunbathing.
If this hotel was in a different part of the island it could charge a lot more than it does now.

Rooms
Hotel is lovely and modern rooms are large with plenty of storage and have air conditioning which is needed. Balcony’s are secure with 2 double locked doors. Modern bathrooms with a toilet shower and sink. There is a 21€ room charge on arrival.

Clean
Cleaners were in everyday and changed bedding towels empty bins

Pools
There is 2 pools one at the front of the hotel which is adults only but sadly does not have a bar at the pool side
The second pool located out the back of the hotel is a family friendly pool with loads of space and a pool side bar and snack bar
Both pools are quite shallow but inflatables are allowed.

Food and drink
Breakfast
fine for all needs but finished at 10am which is a bit too early after a night out
Lunch
Limited choices and very repeated
Evening
Again limited choices and very basic bland flavouring
Snack bar
Only open when meals are not on and is cooked to order so is fresh but often a wait for what you want again not a huge selection of choices but does the job
Drinks
All inclusive bar very quick service has everything you would need, are able to take drinks to room or pool side
Food did disappoint if your a fussy eater you will struggle. If I am to return wouldn’t choose to eat in the hotel

Entertainment
Hotel has a form of entertainment on for guests most nights during the week

Location
Hotel is in a perfect location takes under 10 minutes to walk to the main strip but plenty of restaurants bars and shops just on the next street
You don’t hear the noise from the strip

Was a mix of young folk, family’s and older folk there

Staff were strict on noise and no visitors in the early hours of the morning

Firstly, I have to say that this should really not be a 2* review, as the Margarita hotel is a genuinely lovely hotel with a lot to like. Unfortunately however, there are several areas that need to be seriously improved.

I will start with the positives:
The location is fantastic, it is a short walk from the Laganas strip, but far enough away to not really hear any of the noise coming from there.
The food was in a classic buffet style, and there was a decent enough rotation for the majority of it. The poolside bar was also very handy to have, and served great snacks. I would also like to say thank you to the staff that worked by the poolside bar as they were always friendly, helpful and attentive. A shout out will also have to go to Daisy in the kids club/entertainment, who also performed in a great ABBA tribute which happened to be the highlight of all the entertainment there.

Unfortunately there are several aspects of this hotel that were not up to scratch.
Straight from check-in, we were not given wristbands despite being all inclusive. This didn’t have any problems on the first night, but the second day the staff then started to refuse us service, even though we were never told about the wristbands originally.
When we had a shower in the mornings, there was no hot water at all, and on two of our seven days we stayed our room was not cleaned by the cleaners.
The sports equipment on site is in need of renovation, the Table tennis paddles were barely held together by tape and with missing pads. The “darts” provided were so bent even Michael van Gerwin would struggle to hit the board.
Whilst not expecting Wi-fi to be a priority when relaxing abroad, The Wi-fi had very poor coverage and you would not be able to sufficiently work using this if it was required.
The night time entertainment could certainly be improved. On the first night it started so well with the aforementioned Daisy’s ABBA tribute, however this was as good as it got. One night had no entertainment at all, and two nights had the exact same pianist, who didn’t talk to/interact with the audience at all and it all felt quite bland.

The pools themselves were alright, however the main pool showers were also freezing cold, and had no working lights in a room with no windows, effectively meaning we had to shower with the door cracked open on the final day. They could also do with changing up the poolside playlist as it seemed to be the same every single day.
When going to check out, the luggage room was not guarded and had no CCTC. Whilst it is within the hotel grounds, it did not feel completely safe there and we had to go back to check up on our luggage.
Lastly the most disappoint part of the holiday was the man on the night time reception. As others have said in other reviews, this is certainly not a “party” hotel, however this man would not make you feel comfortable at all, and would watch and follow people back to the rooms, almost looking for an excuse to moan. On the nights when we did return, even when being silent he was very unwelcoming and would be the main reason we would not recommend people to go back to this hotel. Minus the man on reception, this hotel would be a genuinely lovely place to go with friends or family.

What an amazing find. After reading other reviews I had concerns but upon arrival these immediately became insignificant. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, taking pride in all they do with fantastic English. The service is exceptional. As a frequent traveller abroad I know to not expect typical English style food and that all inclusive is normally buffet style of the local delicacies. Every meal we had was extremely high quality with a vast choice everyday. All freshly cooked. The salad bar and all hot food was always replenished promptly. My only personal preference for the food would be to have freshly cooked omelettes and chopped fruit offered at breakfast. The pool bar food was as just a high standard and both the chef and the waiter were so friendly, polite and helpful. He kept the pool area spotless and was constantly walking around clearing up peoples empties. The room had great aircon and black out shutters over the patio doors. Comfortable beds and pillows. Surprisingly a fridge was provided which you don’t normally have with 3 star all inclusive accommodation. A litre bottle of water at the local shop was just 50c. The shower was always hot and had great water pressure. The local supermarket had a great choice and reasonably priced. The pool area was meticulously cleaned and the pool was a very comfortable temperature. You have 2 pools one at the front of the hotel which is adults only and then at the rear with the pool bar the family area. Rooms were cleaned and to a high standard. The hotel is close to the beach and local nightlife but far enough away to not experience noise. Security is great with the hotel not allowing non guests on site.

Me and my friends stayed at The Margerita hotel in July 2022. We had a good time however, the hotel wasn’t amazing for the price we paid. Firstly, the staff on entrance were not very friendly and didn’t explain where everything was, they just handed us a leaflet. There was very limited choice in alcohol and the drinks were very weak and was very cheap quality. When one of my friends was caught a stomach bug and I had to ask for clean sheets they seemed disgusted and gave dirty looks. Another one of my friends had leaked on her period on the bed and asked for clean sheets and they also look disgusted and were very intimidating and rude towards her. Also to note despite it saying online that they provide towels. They don’t. They just pointed at the shop next door. Additionally the hotel doesn’t provide bottled water despite presenting heaps of bottles water around the hotel but not for guest use. The food at lunch and dinner was the same every night and very repetitive. However the food was nice. Bar staff at the hotel were lovely and friendly and the pool bar that served burgers etc was very useful and nice. The air con is the room wasn’t very powerful and it was hot never cool in the bedrooms. The rooms were clean and spacious but you only get one key per room which is quite annoying. The pools were lovely and there was always enough sun loungers. We preferred the adult only pool however, you can’t play music around a pool and can’t play pool games or make any noise which is inconvenient because Laganas is a prime destination known for party holidays so it was a bit of a bummer that we couldn’t properly enjoy ourselves by the pool or play games etc.
I wouldn’t stay here again.

After reading most of the reviews, I was worried about coming away… We’re on our 10th day out of the 14 we booked and I don’t get what everyone’s issue is - when we arrived we got such a warm reception and the staff couldn’t be more helpful, our shower was broke and when we told staff it was replaced within a day. There is entertainment every night apart from a Thursday and the food for dinner and tea time rotates every day, you have your same things of salad and roast potatoes but then there is a variety of meat and vegetarian opens and plenty of desert. Breakfast is breakfast and it doesn’t really change but there’s enough not to cry about it. The pool bar has so many options toasties, sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, chips etc. and the all inclusive includes wine, gin, rum, whiskey, vodka, peach schnapps. If you’re claiming you were being served one drink at a time you must either be lying or showing staff you were intoxicated because I am in a family of 10 and we were getting 6/7 drinks at a time. The bar staff are lovely so I’m unsure why people are calling them rude. The adult pool is at the front of the hotel and the childrens pool is too the back of the hotel, if you come in like an idiot bladdered making loads of noise then you will be told by the staff and so you should be. I’ve had 2/3 nights so far were young kids have come in at 3/4am in the morning making noise that’s uncalled for and the staff were on it straight away for them to reduce the noise level. We were outside of an evening past the all inclusive sat in the bar area til 11:30-12 at night and not once were we asked to keep the noise down or ‘whisper’

Room was cleaned every day and towels replaced every other day, all areas of the hotel were lovely and clean.

Outside of the hotel I would recommend Amigos Bar, Hot Lips, Greek Taverna Restaurant.

Turtle Beach trip is fantastic, Zante Town is beautiful and we are going to the shipwreck beach tomorrow.

I’ve been a returning guest to the Margarita hotel ever since 2009 and It will always be the hotel i choose when retuning to laganas.

The staff here are what makes the hotel and your holiday so special. Nothing is ever to much and they work all day with smiles on their faces and always interacting with you.

The hotel has 2 pools one at the front of the hotel and one at the rear. The front pool is adults only and was lovely and cool to cool you down out of the heat. The rear pool was the family pool which was more lively. I used both during my stay and where both perfect with a lovely back drop of the landscape hotel and palm trees.

The hidden gem of the hotel is the amazing food and home grown products produced on the farm. There was a wide selection of food on offer and all was tasty leaving you wanting more.

Room 305 was on the top floor and over looked the rear pool and mountains behind. The balcony was large and spacious. A big shout out to the hotel cleaners who always left the room clean and tidy.

We had to wear masks in the hotel when walking about as this was the rules in place by the Greek government and was not a issue as everyone respected this.

If you are looking for relaxing days in a location that is ideal for exploring everything zante has to offer then look no further.

Lastly again a massive thank you to all the staff for making this much needed holiday an absolutely dream and pleasure.

I have just returned from this hotel feeling very happy and relaxed! The hotel is very clean and the rooms were lovely and spacious.
Pool areas were also very well maintained and the adults only pool always had sun-beds available and was also bigger than expected.
All staff at the hotel were lovely and always happy to help.
The food was varied, good choice for breakfast every morning and dinner offered a different selection of dishes each night, there wasn’t a huge amount each night but the hotel is only small compared to other all inclusive hotels.
Great location, close walking distance to Laganas but not close enough that you hear any noise. Highly recommend Bella zante if you fancy a meal out.
Handy shop attached to the hotel for essentials.
The only thing that was lacking was the entertainment in the evenings.
I would also say that this hotel is not suitable for those in big groups for a party holiday.
We would happily return!

This hotel is absolutely fine for what it is. We came as a family of 3 and we all had a great holiday. The food is actually pretty good, breakfast is pretty much the same every day which wasn’t a problem for us, lunch was alright but the snack bar had burgers, chips and hot dogs and dinner was really nice most nights.
The pool areas are well kept the kids pool had floats and balls to play with and there didn’t seem to be any rules as such so you could enjoy yourself, the adults pool was really relaxing and quiet.
I would say if you’re coming on a family holiday it’s perfect, you’re away from the strip and it has a very chilled out atmosphere.
If you’re coming on a lads/girls holiday it would be terrible for you as there are a lot of kids around and it’s impossible to get drunk on the alcohol here even if you’re a light weight.
Entertainment is on every night apart from Thursday and to be honest it’s so bad it’s funny but at least there’s something going on.
If you’re a normal person or family looking for a relaxing holiday and just want to get away this place is ideal but if you’re someone that looks for something to whinge and complain about you’ll probably find loads of things wrong it.

Thanks for a great stay margarita!!
